Father Son Chat: Hyaku talks with Kyasho (06-11-2402)

Kyasho sat at his desk at the Rogue Headquarters in the area now known as Merricent, busying himself with the task of trying to run the Rogue Special Forces which was very much displaced in a post merger Gaia. His tasks at the moment were mostly administrative, like the other Terran faction leaders he was mainly caught up in determining the fates of his personnel. It was while he was cross checking his list of MIA operatives that his secretary paged him on his Data Comm. informing him that he had a visitor, before the secretary could finish Kyasho's door buzzed.

"Come" Kyasho announced, more than annoyed at the tenacity of the visitor, however the familiarity of the spike entering the room explained everything.

The first thing that struck Kyasho about his son was that he had altered his look considerably, most notably the elimination of any Rogue insignia from his attire, which now consisted of an armoured black chestplate with no pauldrons and silver gauntlets with clawed finger tips, his regular black pants remained but his trademark leather jacket had now been replaced by a thick black trenchcoat, which he wore in an odd fashion, only actually wearing one sleeve while simply draping the left side over his shoulder. His hair was longer now with the prominent bangs from his youth returning and suprisingly Hyaku actually looked meaner, a surprising feat given his usual disposition. Invasive scanning of his form revealed that the look was in keeping with the new boss form his son had acquired, but having not seen Hyaku in quite some time he was unsettled especially since he realised that the young channeler had discovered his rather dubious destiny.

With the determined look on Hyaku's face and with all the experience he had with his charge's prickly personality he could virtually predict that this conversation was going to be about Hyaku having reached a decision concerning this destiny of his. A brief moment of anxienty descended on Kyasho as he, like all parents, wondered if he had instilled the right values and whether Hyaku would make the right choice, before his training kicked in and he steeled his resolve to do whatever needed to be done regardless of Hyaku's choice. Realising that they had been staring at each other for quite some time, Kyasho decided to break the ice.

"Hyaku..." Kyasho ventured.

"Kyasho..." was the cool reply.  "You know what this about," Hyaku said cutting to the chase.

"Yes, I can tell, you have discovered your role in the war, the question is what have you decided about your destiny?" Kyasho asked now focussing a piercing glare on Hyaku.

"Wrong, I've discovered Obelisk's role in the war, you yourself told me that your destiny is what you make it, isn't it why you formed the Rogues, to try to steer the world down a different path than what destiny foretold in your visions?" Hyaku asked drawing only a grunt from Kyasho, "I've decided however, I will travel with SABER, if it is okay with them and with you, my subordinates will be coming with me. Its your call if you want to end my Rogue Affiliation, but I'll say now I have no immediate plans to contradict our ideals, I'll try to keep SABER in line as well. They are strange, stubborn and strong, but not above reason."

Kyasho inhaled deeply, wording his reply carefully, "I am sure you know this son, SABER is following the will of Heiarch and Teros, to revive their masters and bring about the end of our kind. This will put you directly in conflict with the Rogues and the majority of organised factions here on Gaia."

"I've heard the lectures already, don't worry, I haven't been taken over by Obelisk or anything else of the sort. I just don't think the method you and the guardians have planned will work to end this war. Don't get me wrong I don't think SABER has it right either, but lets just say allowing them to do what they want will suit my needs. All I have to say is have faith and allow me to do what I want and keep your operatives out of my way I really don't want to have to fight them." Hyaku turned to go his little speech complete, looking over his shoulder he said in parting, "You know how to contact me, if you have anything to say."

With that the young Rogue walked out the door leaving Kyasho deep in thought.  With a slight sigh, he would sit back in his chair, for the moment brushing his paperwork to the side while he weighed the options that his stubborn sons had left him.  With the faintest of smirks, he opened up a channeler with Hyaku's lone subordinate and closest friend, Erika.  The two would indulge in the briefest of conversations before he made his decision.

Outcome: Erika has been given the option to travel with Hyaku, but he status as his subordinate will be temporarily deferred.  Until Hyaku's true motives can be determined the two will function as partners and Erika will be given the option to return to the Rogues at anytime.
