Back to Work: Xian attempts creature creation while Gabriel talks to Wild Vine (10-11-2402)

Upon arrival back in the Wild Vine’s domain, Gabriel wasted no time in making his way back to the benefactor of their quest, allowing with the emissary that they had been sent to protect.  While they made their way off, Xian decided to get some more personal work in.  As he cleared the boundaries of the Wild Vine’s territory, he began the process of his pawn creation, releasing his artificial lifeforms into the ecosystem outside of the Wild Vine.  Needless to say, the deity class organism took note of this, finding Xian’s audacity to be somewhat annoying but eventually deciding that his pawns were too insignificant to waste her effort with them, she would just inform the young Engineer to inform her of his actions beforehand next time.

Once this was done, Xian went about the creation of another of his Zeta Life forms, this time focussing specifically on copying his own acquired experience onto the creature.  He would eventually realise however was that this was not as easy as he thought it would be.  With his Astral Insight and what limited psychic abilities he possessed, Xian would quickly realise that experience was not an entirely a physical mental attribute, but was also linked to the strength of his Astral presence as well as the latent fluctuations within his psychic energies, suggesting that it may also have a Psychein component.  Despite this however, Xian realised that he could impart some additional basic knowledge into his Zeta lifeform, making it somewhat more proficient in its abilities.  Once this was done, he moved onto his code translation abilities, using his acquired knowledge from the zeta creatures which he observed in Tanami as well as his very limited knowledge of zeta himself.  This process was far more successful as Xian assisted the creature in creating its own instinctual zeta library, giving it some basic actual zeta coding abilities.  Unfortunately, its abilities were still limited to Xian’s actual knowledge of zeta and what little he could decode from the zeta channelling entities in Tanami.  Xian sighed lightly, Code Vision would be particularly useful at this point.

Xian’s final task would be a total failure however as he quickly realised that his lack of a Ki affinity would make his understanding and manipulation of I-Type Zeta a complete struggle.  Xian would do the basic conceptual groundwork for his code converter from Old Type Zeta to I-Type Zeta before calling it a day and going to catch up with Gabriel and see what their next task would be.  As he caught up with the scrapper of the duo, Gabriel informed him of their next task.

“Okay, so here’s the deal right...”  Gabriel paused, seeming slightly annoyed.   “From what I could understand... Wild Vine talks so fast...”  He rambled.  “The Dragons are having a hard time with the Temporal conditions in Timeless but otherwise their society is in tact.  That’s the good news.  The bad news is that they have lost contact with their patron deity.”  Gabriel explained, causing Xian to raise an eyebrow.

“The dragons have a deity?”  Xian inquired.

“Well sorta.  They were more like adopted by this deity due their Ki/Time affinity.  Either way though, Wild Vine is in contact with the deity, being a deity herself, so she’s sending us as the liaisons to this Ki deity.”  Gabriel continued.  “We need to take an information packet to this thing and then bring whatever she gives us back to the Wild Vine.”  Gabriel explained.

“I see... so where is this deity?”  Xian inquired.

“That’s the fun part... she’s in the middle of the ocean...”  Gabriel replied.  “D9 is the square I believe... hope you can swim.”  Gabriel laughed.

“Oh... this should be fun.”  Xian sighed loudly.

Outcome: Gabriel and Xian have received another quest.
