Operation Mother’s Milk: Donovan works on his EMPD and SAUCE (04-02-2403)
The young Mercenary operative, who had actually forgone his previous promotion for his work on the CAFEM and ECS projects found himself had at work once again within the bowels of Fort David, this time working on the production of another mechanism which he was certain would aid his faction in reducing their total expenditure to something approaching zero cores for their day to day requirements. As always, Donovan had his own pet name for the project, “Operation Mother’s Milk” but once again chose a more suitable acronym for his presentation to the head of R&D once he was done.
This system was one of the simpler systems that the channeler would design, consisting of two main components, what Donovan simply referred to as the Input Box and the Output Box, requiring the summoning of two simple gambits, one for scanning and the other for compilation. Donovan would include his regular number of maintenance gambits for the device and include within the device the ability to accept Cores and ECS’s for its power supply. Once this was done, Donovan would begin by scanning a number of simpler objects and attempting to compile them using the device, then tweaking the output gambit so that the outputs more closely resembled what was inputted. This process was repeated until the difference between the two was indiscernable to Donovan. Given his own level of awareness and his precision, the young Engineer found that to be rather acceptable. He would continue to tweak the device until he could find no further flaws before he presented it to the head of Research and Development.
Once again, the head scientist would be impressed by Donovan’s steadfast dedication, noting that the device would indeed be a useful addition to the facility and would well with the Vita Mythic project which was currently underway. He would admit however that the device would need to be tweaked further, to scrutinise at an even higher level of awareness than Donovan was capable, but he would be glad to spearhead that part of the project, allowing Donovan of course, full access to the facilities and process as he did so. Once this was done, he would finalise the plans for the device with Donovan and begin the development of the second R&D Facility into Donovan’s EMPD design.
Donovan would spend the rest of the day working on his personal “uberiser”, getting one of the scientists within his R&D Facility to assist him, and teach him how to make the device into a class five hardpoint. This would not be too difficult a task, but much to Donovan’s detriment, he would realise that the process did require the use of actual Cores and did not suit the supplementation of his ECS’s as a process had not yet been devised on how to connect the ECS’s to the Expansion suit. Donovan would reluctantly hand over the cores necessary for the process, and complete his “SAUCE”, the Super-Ass-Uberific-Control-Enhancer. Needless to say this would bring a great level of sadness to his current tutor, but as this was a personal hardpoint, he would not bother to try to convince Donovan to change the name. Once this was all done, Donovan would call it a day, and collect his promotion papers.
Outcome: Donovan has initiated the EMPD project and acquired his SAUCE hardpoint.
