Basic Training: Rayne does some more research (18-02-2403)

Once again Rayne found himself in the lab, but this time he was checking to see the effects of Cores when infused into his form.  His methodology was relatively simple, combusting 1 core per equipped technique and monitoring the effects on his form, running specific tests with regards to summoning time and the total amount of energy that he could output at a single time.

As he ran through his tests, he made the simplest of observations initially, noting that as expected, the combustion of Cores allowed him the controlled release of massive amounts of energy, allowing him to store up to his Maximum Controllable Energy before the rest of energy from the Core had to be dissipated into the environment.  This energy store allowed him to utilise each specific technique at its maximum output simultaneously, with all that he required being the combined Maximum Charge Times to execute the techniques.  Next he would test to see if he could quickly summon a technique at its lowest possible output and then use the power from the Core to amplify its effects, unfortunately, he would realise that this was not possible.  This was due to summoning times being broken down into two stages, that being the energy gathering stage and more importantly the technique coding stage.  Even though Rayne could supplement the energy charging phase by inputting energy from a core, he found himself unable to speed up the energy coding phase, which was still limited by his own channelling ability.  What annoyed Rayne further was that this energy coding that took such a toll on his stamina, preventing the supplementing the use of his own energy with that from Cores from actually conserving much of his stamina.

Once this was done, he then attempted to ‘restock’ cores utilising his various abilities, but like most channelers before him, he realised that his form simply lacked the necessary channelling abilities to recoalesce enough energy into the size of a Core and he lacked the technical capacity to format this new energy into the unique state that energy within cores occupied to give this universal currency its various functions.  Once this was done, he would then attempt to imbue these cores with a foreign technique before assimilating them into his form, attempting to facilitate a form of partial booting.  This allowed him to achieve his goal to a certain extent, allowing him to activate his make-shift add-on internally and perform its function, much like he would a technique.  But his form simply lacked the capacity to manually integrate these new add-on techniques into his actual form, due primarily to his lack of free slots.

Rayne’s final experiment would be to test just how much energy he could release from his core ‘add-on’ per second, without the degrading or suffering ill-effects.  Rayne would soon realise that this was simply a matter of power conservation however, he could technically code the technique to release any quantity of energy per second, up to his maximum controllable energy, it would simply require him taking the time to code the initial activation glyph, a task that became more painstaking the high an output he wanted.  As would be expected, core life was the inversely proportional to the output of the technique, decreasing exponentially as the output increased from the 1 s.p. per second that cores were designed to give off.  Rayne would call it a day now, being pleased with his findings.
