Underestimation of Power: Davius and Juggerknot try to get to Arc of Hern (19-02-2403)

The dynamic duo of Dark and Juggerknot had known well enough to equip their Detrel MX with the additional thrust needed to reach the Arc of Hern, however, their associate Johnny Blaze had been rather vague in his description of the resistance they would meet.  For this reason, the two channelers were rather unprepared for the defence systems of the Arc. 

As the two approached the Arc, Davius decided that it was best that they knew what they were getting into before they actually went forward, causing him to pause and power up to max before utilising his Distorted effect to facilitate his unique form of precognition as he attempted to scan future events so that he could get an idea of what they were up to.  His particular technique proved to be somewhat useful, allowing him to gain insight into possible outcomes of his actions for at least a few seconds into the future, allowing him to adequately surmise that the defense system consisted of two primary features.  The first feature, he had covered, a powerful repulsion field that prevented vehicles under a certain class from reaching the Arc, his modded engines would take care of that problem, unfortunately, he couldn’t quite figure what the second system was exactly, just that it damaged his vehicle the longer he stayed in the field, forcing him to avoid being stuck fighting the repulsion field for too long. 

With this Davius powered up his form to full, utilising the full effects of his Dimensional manipulation in an attempt now to add to the shields of the vehicle as it thrusted through the powerful repulsion field.  This helped somewhat, but with Davius only recently having ascended to boss and the Arc’s defenses exhibiting the same force as those of a Headquarter class facility, the young Cleric would soon realise that he was fighting a losing battle against this facility.  This meant that he would need to focus more on speed than defence, switching his powers from shielding and instead activating his Omega Drive before using his Temporal Control to indirectly speed up the ship, while providing the engines with his own energy in an attempt to further increase the thrust of the ship.  Davius smirked now as it seemed to be working, but his smirk would fade as he realised that the closer he got to the facility, the more powerful the field which was tearing his ship apart was getting.

Once again he would attempt to use his Distorted Effect, but failed to pull it off, leading Davius to only one possible conclusion, his reversion was eminent.  The young cleric would return his focus to shielding the ship as he allowed it to free fall, turning in midair before he thrusted downwards and away from the Arc.  He would definitely need to try a different approach if he wanted to reach the facility in one piece.

Outcome: Davius’ Detrel has taken a great deal of damage and must be repaired, the contamination of the area in which they landed will slow the process.
