It Lives: Xian does some research (25-02-2403)
Xian’s theory about the nature of organic channelling was a rather simple one, which he hoped would allow him to create creatures with the ability to utilise magical techniques without the need for a soul or any other such structure. Working on his own unique principle, Xian started out by creating a purely material physical body for the creature and instilling within it, the structures which he theorised were responsible for imbuing wild creatures with their organic channelling ability. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t take long for him to realise that this process was a failure. Xian released a long sigh now as he was quickly stopped in his tracks, forcing him to review his scans now as he tried to figure out exactly why it was that his theory was incorrect. It would take some time for Xian’s high technical capacity to kick in and point out the obvious flaw in his plan, that being that all creatures, whether user or channeler class were comprised of ether rather than just magic.
With this in mind, he repeated the process using a fully ethereal being, foregoing the attachment of a soul however, but instead relying on his ‘symbology’ theory to imbue the creature with magic powered abilities. As Xian explored this now, he realised that his scans of creatures and the information provided for him by the Mercenary army only allowed him to create very basic organic channelling abilities, those which boosted physical statistics such as strength, speed and resilience or those which enhanced senses. Apart from this, Xian didn’t seem to have the know-how to trigger other magical effects using his organic glyph structures. At least it was a start.
As Xian now moved on, he attempted to create these glyphs outside of a living creature, but he found that the process was now extremely similar to simply summoning the glyph for a technique and not exerting the energy to actually code it, with the only difference being that he wasn’t using his own native code, but some other foreign code which he could only assume to be that of Gaia or some other all encompassing super entity. As such, the strength of these glyphs was limited by Xian’s understanding of this foreign code, which was quite low, restricting him to very weak effects. Once again however, he had a start.
Just for good measure now, and to say that he had at least achieved something in the action, Xian commenced the creation of a creature which would channel the V-Type Zeta that he had recently become accustomed to. He would require the assistance of the scientist that had designed his hardpoint to create a similar structure in his creature, one which unfortunately had to be inorganic, leaving Xian with quite a task of actually integrating it into the creature’s other systems . Once this was done, he created the body for the organism, infusing it with as high an energy concentration as he could so that the creature could mechanically draw in energy to be coded. Once this was done, he would impart as much experience onto the creature as he could using his Grave Mind and other mental manipulation techniques. Xian would smile at his progress, as he accessed the creature’s output levels. A smile broke as he realised that its outputs were that of his target level, level five, but his smile would quickly turn to a sigh as he was still forced to come to grips with the fact that he still lacked the ability to program experience into his creatures. He could only program in intelligence.
Outcome: Xian has created a V-Type Zeta coding organism and a basic organic channeling organism.
