Get To Work: Roun does some lab work (20-03-2403)

A loud sigh escaped Roun’s lips as he found himself entering the Research and Development area of the Garrison.  Despite his immensely high technical capacity for someone his level, Roun was in no way a fan of doing lab work, preferring much more to gain his experience in the field.  Unfortunately for the Anomaly, this time that would not be possible.  Roun sighed again now, cursing Paco’s name; his fellow Lieutenant Commander’s ideas were at times too well conceived to simply be ignored.

As he set up a small station within the facility, Roun started work on the system which would eventually provide the ground work for just about all of the upcoming Rogue mass production projects.  Like most of Roun’s plans, this one was a relatively simple one, one which didn’t involve too many complex parts.  Roun smirked to himself at the simplicity of it all now, noting that the most difficult part of the whole thing was actually the integration of the basic system with the more complex technologies that he would want to apply it to.  Luckily, as a double unique Roun had a bit of an edge on most others in this regard.

The premise of the system was actually rather simple, allowing the Rogue powerhouses to apply their extremely high outputs with the same power that add-ons or other artificially enhanced mechanisms could produce.  The mere fact that this had not yet been done was a testament in itself to the difficulty of the task, but interestingly enough, the initial coding which Roun performed was deceivingly simple.  It was only when he actually tried to integrate his system with that of a standard add-on that he truly realised the problem.

“Bottlenecking... oh come on...”  Roun sighed as he now attempted to find a way around this.

The young Itami would sit momentarily and ponder ways around his problem, but each would just prove to me more complex than the last, something that the young Itami really hated.  After some minutes though, the simplest of solutions would emerge in his mind, causing him to grin broadly as he scrapped his initial code mechanism and created a fresh one from scratch.

“This had better get me promoted...”  Roun scoffed in amusement now as he began the integration process between his new system and that of one of the Niche-EXs on the facility.  Roun would combust a fuel cell into the add-on and watch as it flared to life, the blade glowing so brightly that it literally hurt the Itami’s ethereally reinforced eyes, forcing him to switch it off as the last quanta of energy leaked out of the blade generation end of the device.  A loud laugh would emerge from his mouth now, drawing the attention of the Rogue scientists within the vicinity as the young Itami’s vision returned to him, allowing him to see the half melted Niche which he held in his hand.  At least his project was a success, was all he could think to himself even as he noted the obvious flaws in the system.  Roun would finalise all of the details of the system before documenting it and presenting the system to the head of research and development.  As he went over the premise, a smile would break across the face of the head of R and D, leaving the two with only the task of figuring out a name for the system.  They would finally decided on the Aesyr System, before Roun got to work on a number of weapons for his subordinates and himself, utilising the same systems.

Outcome: Roun has developed a dual generator system based on the ethereal manipulation principles utilised by channelers and augmented by mechanical means.  This system allows for the generation of large amounts of energy with the requirement of only a fraction of the cores.  This project has been designed to greatly reduce the Core input requirements of the Rogues as their energy costs increase.
