Data Mechanic: Rei attempts to fix the Falcon (14/03/2403)
Kyo was rather surprised by Rei’s request for scrap metal, having opted to do the repairs to the Falcon’s interior systems, while she allowed the more technically minded staff at Tel Aviv deal with the structural repairs and anything else which she couldn’t handle. Kyo shrugged as he complied, deciding that the best course of action rather than attempting to dissuade Ms. Selen from doing him a favour at no cost to himself.
Once the necessary resources were gathered, Rei would begin her interface with and uplink to the nanites generated by the nano-pods. Kyo would watch with some sketicism as she went to work, applying her litany energy through her HDM while coordinating the millions of micro-machines to increase their ability to carry out their base functions. At first, Kyo could see no result, causing him to scoff lightly at what he assumed to be an over ambitious attempt by Rei to use her abilities for things which they were not suited. However, after some time, Kyo would watch as the systems of the Falcon flashed back to life. As expected, Rei lacked the ability to repair a number of the more technically complex systems which had been destroyed by the Versillion, but her ability to reconnect links that were simply severed was absolute, and her ability to figure out some of the less technical equipment was uncanny and almost intuitive at some times. The entire process would be slow, and would take a rather long time, and a considerable amount of Rei’s stamina, but without any external assistance Kyo would realise that the Falcon’s subsystems had gone from 10% to 85% functionality. Kyo had to admit that he was impressed, a sentiment that pleased a proud Rei greatly before fatigue set in.
As Rei powered down, Kyo would invite her to Tel Aviv’s mess hall, lunch would be on him.
