Sticking One's Nose Where It Doesn't
Belong: Seig, Jinzo and Bobby
assist Deacon in stopping the
Refugee Mission. |
|
Deacon
had to admire Seig’s ambition, even
though the data that he had provided
the Xelot Field Commander had been
long intercepted by Xelot
intelligence, Deacon was at least
mildly impressed that Seig had
actually managed to acquire it.
They had both acquired some basic
information on the Demai mission,
code name Refugee, and Seig
was offering his assistance with the
execution of the Xelot counter
mission, offering up his stealth
capabilities to keep an eye on the
situation. Deacon shrugged, this
saved him from having to request a
Ghost pilot from the HQ, and it
would give him a good chance to test
Seig’s abilities.
With
everything agreed on, Seig moved out
under stealth, while Deacon and the
other held back to observe his
movements. Due to the delays, Seig
got there in the middle of the
incident, noting as soon as he
arrived a small rift coming through
the dimensions. His scanners gave
an odd reading however, being a
dimension manipulator himself, Seig
was accustomed to the ethereal
affects of warping dimensioins, but
this rift was different. As Seig
looked on, the rift didn’t even seem
to exhibit dimensional properties,
but instead some kind of phase
shifting properties, the residual
effects of which were still present
in the young Oyan male that made his
way through the portal. Seig’s eyes
widened as the youngster made his
way through, noting the bright
green hair of the young man,
which he tended to associate with
only one thing.
Seig
quickly snapped out of it and
informed the rest of the team, who
quickly initiated their plan.
Deacon, never one for stealth, made
his way towards the area directly,
while Stryder and Jinzo flanked
Tiana. They were all rather
surprised to see Tiana’s ship power
up, as they were all oblivious of
the fact that she travelled with a
subordinate. Luckily for them, so
did Deacon, allowing his own light
assault to discourage Tiana from
using hers. This left, the battle
considerably one sided, as Jinzo and
Bobby moved in to carry the Oyan to
safety while Seig and Deacon engaged
Tiana.
Loki
wasted no time disengaging his own
stealth, powering his form up fully
and launching a Reversion blast as
Tiana. Tiana scoffed loudly at the
attack, powering straight into her
Omega Drive and blasting Seig with a
Prism Shot. The attack collided
with his Reversion, drawing energy
from the attack before splitting off
into separate beams that targeted
all four of her attacks. The
resulting attacks picked off Jinzo
and Bobby who were now on their way
out of her area on influence,
clipped Seig who had began to dodge
and was blocked by Deacon’s Long
Shield before he summoned
Suppression to keep her busy.
Seig’s
form glitched from the attack, that
exhibited properties of his own
Reversion blast, making it hard for
him to make it to his feet while
Deacon rushed past him, attempting
to intersect Tiana, who was now
heading for Jinzo and Bobby at full
speed. Bobby noticed this, stopping
as Jinzo continued to make a break
for it, whipping out his Frost
Wolves and launching a hail of shots
at her, only now adding to the
Suppression fire from Deacon’s
summons.
Tiana
cursed silently as she waded through
the fire, dodging what she could and
guarding the rest, attempting to
take as little damage as possible…
but this would be a difficult task.
By now, Seig had recovered and was
moving back into the fray.
“No,
intercept her, do not let her reach
the boy!” Deacon ordered as she
blasted her way through Bobby,
leaving him stunned on the ground
before she attempted to dash past
him.
Luckily
for Bobby, he had been able to fully
charge his Celestial Judgement,
summoning the Satellite Cannon that
bore down on his opponent, doing the
first set of major damage to her for
the battle, and stopping her long
enough for Seig to get between her
and Jinzo. With her Omega Drive
running into the final few Seconds,
Tiana summoned a Rasen-sho,
activating Prodigy to further boost
her abilities as she thrusted
through Seig, who had put up the
strongest defense that he could as
he attempted to blast her away with
his Last Stand.
Unfortunately, the Overwhelming
Force of her attack left his
form worse for wear, leaving him
near reversion, much like Bobby, and
more importantly incapacitated for
the rest of the battle. Luckily
however, their noob-rush tactics,
had caused her to use both of her
trump cards to catch up to Jinzo, he
was terrified. He Succubus and
Decrepify did their best to keep her
away, slowing her while pelting her
with projectiles, giving Deacon
enough time to engage his own Omega
Drive. Unlike many others his
level, with Deacon’s Omega Drive
came his ability to manipulate the
Time Stream, which he quickly slowed
as much as he could.
Doing
so, he then summoned his Griphon
to assault Tiana. Even in the time
slowed state however, Tiana wasted
no time in dodging the Griphon’s
first attack, retaliating with an
Ignition blast, that knocked it
from the sky. See this, and knowing
that she would not be able to turn
in time to counter him, Deacon
teleported in, slashing Tiana in the
back and stunning her, before he
followed up with another two slashes
and teleported away, leaving behind
an explosion that would blast her
away. Tiana cursed again, her
Omega Drive having run out and
her Prodigy winding down as
well. Knowing how summoners
functioned, she did the only logical
thing. As Deacon moved in for a
follow up attack, she dropped her
barriers allowing the slash to
connect, but in turn blasting
Griphon out of the sky, leaving
Deacon rather stunned. This would
be her only chance to capitalise on
him, but luck would not be on her
side. As time returned to normal,
her Prodigy ran out, leaving
her in a state of mental fatigue,
much like the backlash that Deacon
was experiencing. Jinzo wasted no
time in Grand Calling his Dark
Messiah, vanishing from the battle
field and being replaced by the
beast that now rampaged on the
already weakened and now stunned
Tiana, reverting her before she
could recover.
Outcome: Tiana has failed the
Refugee Mission, Deacon has
succeeded in stopping her.
Seig,
Jinzo and Bobby have been offered
Knighthood by the Council of Xelots
for their assistance. |

To Start A War: Rogues and Demai
do battle in Italy over the
information and the Enhancer. |
|
As the
Rogue Special Forces made their way
to their Target using the faction
carrier’s hyper-drive system, Tyler
attempted to bring everyone up to
speed.
“I
assumed you all read the mission
specifics?” She inquired, drawing a
nod from the three operatives in the
vehicle, Hyaku, Leonardo and Roun,
as well as the frame pilots that
Roun and Tyler had requested.
“Good, so who is the mission
coordinator?” Tyler inquired.
“That’s
me.” Leonardo responded, drawing a
loud sigh from Tyler.
“You let
the eleven year old draw up the
plan?!” Tyler inquired now, her
displeasure very prominent.
“Mission
update” blasted over the
communications link in the carrier,
gaining everyone’s attention. “Sattelite
scans have picked up a Demai
military carrier leaving Italian air
space and en-route to Tel Aviv,
intelligence has reason to believe
that Paco Stryfe is onboard.”
Tyler cursed lightly as she heard
the new intel. “Also en-route
for Italy is one ‘Jayce Falco’, his
trajectory indicates that he is to
intercept your team in Italy.”
The communication finished, causing
everyone to sigh.
“Okay,
I’ve just received word that the
authorities are in pursuit of Yasmin
and Kenshin, so there will be a
slight change of plans.” Tyler
stated now, taking command. “I will
proceed to the Police Headquarters
to sort this mess out, Hyaku you
intercept Jayce, Roun and Leonardo
will carry out the mission as
planned.”
Back on
the ground, Cy was having a field
day. His plans were afterall coming
together a lot better than that of
the Rogues. Like Tyler, he had
received updated intelligence,
warning him of the Rogue activity in
the area, and was given the heads up
that Jayce had been deployed to lend
aid in the operation. In addition,
much like the Rogues, he and Jayce
had also been given clearance to
power up in the city
should a confrontation become
necessary.
Like the
Rogues, his primary team consisted
of four, involving himself and Jayce,
as well as his travel companion Jais
and the freelance mercenary Rei,
allowing Cy to call the shots while
Jayce intercepted what would now be
Hyaku, and Roun and Leonardo
attempted to foil his plans.
Jais and
Rei were having a rather easy time
following Yasmin and Kenshin, who
didn’t seem to interested in stealth
as they made their way to the Drago
Enterprises main office.
“Targets
are heading towards the Drago
building, how should we proceed?”
Jais inquired to Cy, who sighed
loudly now, given the hold up with
the cops, forcing him to take
matters into his own hands.
“Intercept them and acquire the
package, but try not to cause too
much of a scene.” Given his new
orders, Jais moved in, bumping into
Yasmin and tripping over Kenshin
while Rei dashed in. As the small
woman attempted to snatch the
Orbital Enhancer and the Data Pad,
she met some resistance from Yasmin,
while Kenshin was now struggling to
get Jais off of him. The entire
situation briefly devolved into a
scuffle before Rei could land a kick
on Yasmin, winding her just long
enough for her to snatch the items
and run off, while Jais struggled to
detain the two.
With the
main focus of both the Demai and
Rogue mission in the hands of Rei,
Yasmin began to panic, contacting
Tyler and informing her of the
situation; information which she
then referred to Leonardo and Roun,
who had finally made their way into
the city.
Unfortunately, the Rogue carrier was
still seeking somewhere to dock,
forcing Roun to take more drastic
disembarking measures to intercept
Rei before she reached Cy.
“I’m on
it.” Was all Roun replied to Tyler
before diving head first out of the
carrier, using the thrust from his
Speed only to steer him as he
tucked in his hands to speed up his
decent.
The
energy signature that now appeared
in the city puzzled Rei quite a bit,
causing her to look up at the figure
diving straight towards he location,
covered in a green haze. The energy
reminded her of the same energy that
had cooked her turkeys back in
Japan, and that in itself was not
very comforting, especially since
she herself couldn’t power up. Rei
wasted no time informing Cy of the
developments, causing him to move to
intercept the Itami so that she
would have some chance of escape.
Back at
the landing strip, Leonardo was now
disembarking, receiving a number of
communications from channelers that
he requested to aid him in the
rescue of Paco Stryfe,
unfortunately, all of that muscle
seemed to be useless at this point
as Cy had been very clever in
confining the entire action to the
cityscape, where only the Demai and
the Rogues would be able to be a
factor in the proceedings.
Realising this, Leonardo began to
make his way towards Roun’s location
as quickly as possible.
Hyaku,
who had been deployed before Roun
and the others, had managed to
intercept Jayce in a residential
area, and initially seemed to be
holding his own rather well in the
battle that ensued. However, Jayce
had been ordered in no uncertain
terms, to aid Cy in retrieving the
information, and as such, he was not
going to be holding back. As he
ripped into his R.E.D. mode, the
power difference became extremely
noticeable, forcing Hyaku onto the
defensive as he began to bombard him
with powerful ranged energy attacks,
keeping the Rogue at bay and
preventing him from getting Jayce in
his effective area of influence
while he was being pelted with
attacks. This was only further
compromised with Jayce’s Shattered
Dream interfering with his phase
shifting abilities, leaving Hyaku
with only one sensible choice, and
that was to retreat.
Tyler on
the other hand was having a terrible
time at the local authorities, whom
she had been forced to temporarily
shut down to prevent them from
aiding Cy in his diabolical plans.
This left her rather displeased as
she marvelled at just how much pull
the young channeler had with the
Italian police force, and as such,
just how much of a threat he could
be in the future.
Luckily
for the Rogue squad, at least one of
their units was having some luck.
Converting all of his gather energy
into kinetic energy, Roun was able
to bring himself to a quick stop
once he reached the ground, avoiding
impact and dissipating the shock
into the atmosphere, before he
continued pursuit of his target.
Powered down and on foot, Rei was no
match for Roun in terms of speed,
but she did manage to make it just
far enough for Cy to intercept her
pursuer. As Roun chased her, a
pillar of concrete formed in front
of him, stunning him temporarily, as
Cy materialised in from of him,
signalling that a physical
confrontation was about to ensure.
Roun smirked as he looked over Cy’s
shoulder to Rei being intercepted by
Leonardo who quickly incapacitated
her and took the devices before
signalling for the Renegade
operator that Roun had requested to
pilot his F-25, to commence with the
pick up.
“Checkmate.” Roun smirked smugly,
before his senses lit up, forcing
him to silhouette slide in order to
avoid a wave of energy that exploded
at his location. “Or not…”
“You and
your brother just insist in getting
in my way…” Jayce sounded as Hyaku
phase shifted next to Roun,
determined to hold Cy and Jayce off
while Leonardo was extracted.
Roun and
Cy surveyed their surroundings, both
of them knowing well that if Jayce
were to lose control that a lot of
lives would be lost, a reality that
was bad for both factions, that made
an actual battle less of a priority
in both of their eyes. Cy, who was
now communicating to Jayce via eye
movements, had made the intercepting
of Leonardo his main priority, while
Roun whispered to Hyaku that should
things get out of hand, he would
take the device and make a break for
it.
Before
Jayce could make a move, Roun made a
dash for him, while Cy fused with
the ground. Roun’s flying shoulder
check impacted his opponent, sending
them both flying into a nearby
bus stop while Hyaku tracked
Cy’s movements.
“Leonardo move!” was all he could
say, giving the boy just enough time
to take flight before Cy came up
beneath him, grabbing for his feet.
Given Leonardo’s speed and fast
reaction time, he was able to avoid
Cy’s initial grab, but not his
Micro, which grabbed onto
Leonardo and began to pull him back
down.
As Roun
and Jayce impacted, Jayce wasted no
time in blasting the Itami off of
him, forcing Roun to shield as much
of the impact as possible as he flew
into the air, drawing his
pre-transmuted sword as he descended
towards his opponent. Hyaku on the
other side wasted no time in
performing his phase slash, severing
Cy’s micro and allowing Leonardo to
take to the air before Cy sunk back
into the earth to avoid a
concentrated Soul Call Explosion.
As Roun
descended, he charged his blade with
his Aesis V2, slicing through
Jayce’s attack and then through the
bus stop, as Jayce teleported away
from the attack. Cy was still
reeling slightly, as Leonardo’s
attack had managed to catch his
micro, but luckily the damage was
minimal. Hyaku had also taken to
the air, to avoid any funny business
from Cy, charging his Energz
gauntlets to quickly blast him if he
surfaced.
Roun and
Jayce were going at it wildly, as
Roun’s upgraded Tunnel Driver now
allowed him to battle Jayce at melee
range without negative side effects
from his Dimentia barrier, while
Jayce’s R.E.D. mode and high
channelling skills bridged the gap
between their actual levels. Roun
speed, and relentless attacks, as
well as his ability to now transmute
blades as quickly as he could attack
with them, made it quite difficult
for Jayce to dismiss him as he
usually would, while Jayce’s
extensive repertoire of devastating
attack, both up close and at range
force Roun to be on his toes for the
entire fight.
Hyaku
was doing a good job of keeping Cy
at bay, but with Roun’s F-25 in
visual range, he could not afford to
be cautious any longer. Shooting up
from the earth, Cy made his way
towards Hyaku, transforming into
Jinn as he did. This made an
interesting match up between Hyaku’s
T.A.R.G.A. and Cy’s Third Eye as
Hyaku began to offload his Energy
Gauntlets at his attacker who seemed
to dodge the attacks
automatically. Hyaku did manage to
clip his opponent, deflecting some
of his momentum, but not enough to
deter the over six hundred pounds of
flaming channeler from impacting his
form and knocking him out of the
air. However, it did put Cy within
range of his Mesatsu. Hyaku wasted
no time in kicking Cy off, and
activating the attack, forcing Cy to
fuse with the air and ride the
attack out as he moved towards
Leonardo. Unfortunately, he would
not be able to make it, as Leonardo
teleported into the incoming F-25.
Hyaku
cancelled his Mesatsu before it
became to destructive, allowing Cy
to make it out without reversion,
allowing him to fuse with the ground
once more and make his way speedily
to his own F-25 where he would give
chase to Leonardo and the
information, allowing Hyaku to turn
his attention back to Jayce.
With
their headstart, Roun’s pilot and
Leonardo were able to make it to the
Rogue carrier before Cy could
intercept them, while Roun and Hyaku
managed to revert Jayce with
relatively minor damage to public
property. With Cy having circled
back however, they were unable to
take Jayce, Rei or Jais into
company, all of whom Cy evacuated in
his ship.
Outcome: The Rogues have
succeeded in their mission to
acquire the Information on Drago
Enterprises and the Orbital
Enhancer, however, the Demai members
and their accomplices have managed
to escape, and have transported Paco
Stryfe to the Demai Fortress Tel
Aviv.
Negotiations between these factions
must now begin in order to complete
the missions. |

Diplomacy Wins Out:
Rogues and Demai make a deal for
Paco's release |
|
The
Rogue stand point was unwavering,
and didn’t require much confirmation
from any member of their special
forces, as the administrative
department of the faction deal with
this issue directly, this left the
finalisation up to the members of
the Demai, who were far less morally
grounded. Eventually an agreement
was made however, and the release of
Paco Stryfe was completed. The
channeler arrived at the Rogue
Headquarters in Barbados late that
day, signalling an end to both of
the factions’ primary missions. |
|
Outcome: Paco has been released,
and the members of the Drago
Enterprises administrative and
executive department responsible for
the Stalker incident as well as
those scientist involved in the
negative turn of the project and
those assisting in the cover up were
brought to justice. The Demai
contract with the company was hence
canceled, and the Orbital Enhancer
was returned to Drago Enterprises.
Subsequently however, Drago
Enterprises was made an offer of
financial backing by the Order of
Demai to make up for the loss in
capital due to their CEO Mr.
Alexander Drago being in custody and
his assets being frozen. As
the offer was made within the law,
the Rogues are not looking into this
matter.
Cy has
retrived the Orbital Enhancer from
Drago, as it was legally his
property.
Paco,
Yasmin and Kenshin have been offered
positions on the Rogues for their
assistance in bringing the criminal
members of Drago Enterprises to
justice.
Members
of both factions have been paid
accordingly. |
|
Personal Agendas:
Xelots and the Demai do battle of
the Itami Refugee. |
|
The
Xelot contingent had a relatively
large membership, comprising of the
four official Knights of the Xelots,
as well as a small Rogue compliment,
made up of Paco, Yasmin and Kenshin,
allowing with their meta-human
compatriots. This gave them
considerable man power, especially
with Yasmin’s requested subordinate
operating the Hi-Nuun frame pack.
Given this, the Xelots quickly
finalised their plans and moved out.
The
squad had a total of six vehicles,
two reinforced Machelers accompanied
by two Detrel MXs, piloted by Jinzo
and Bobby, while Seig and Deacon
watched from the skies in F-25s; and
with this compliment they set off on
their way to the registration
office. What surprised the group
however was that they could not
sense any inbound Demai resistance
as they had planned for, leaving
them somewhat uneasy, as they
decided now to proceed with caution.
“Xelot
Command, this is Deacon DeSaint
requesting an update on the
locations of known Demai
operatives.” Deacon requested now,
starting to get a bit on edge.
“All
Demai members have been located in
France; further scans show that they
are stationary nine kilometres from
your location, no intercept course
has been set.” The Controller back
at his headquarters replied.
“What is
their distance from the registration
office?” Deacon inquired once
again.
“Five
Kilometres.” She replied.
“That
still puts them outside of our
scanning range.” He reasoned, as
the Armadillo operator that was
co-piloting looked towards him.
“But
doesn’t that put us outside of their
scanning range as well?” He
inquired.
“Yes…”
Was all Deacon replied as they
continued with the operation.
One
kilometre from the facility, Roun
and Rei sat in his brother’s powered
down Zeta Wing, while the operator
of his Renegade frame wondered
around outside the vehicle, trying
to keep as a low a profile as is
possible when hanging around a light
assault vehicle. The only thing
powered up on the ship was the long
range scanners, as Roun focused on
the registration office, waiting to
see exactly which vehicle that young
Itami would leave.
Further
off, the Demai Field Commander sat
with her feet up on the control
panel of her own F-25. She had
already ordered the Controllers at
the Demai headquarters to monitor
the information on registered
channelers as it updated, notifying
her when the Itami was added so that
her team could move in.
As the
Xelot team arrived, Roun increased
the intensity of the scanning beam,
allowing him to get a relatively
clear visual of the entrance. As he
watched the view screen, he saw the
Xelots dismounting a signal
generator from the back of one of
the armoured Machelers, causing him
to laugh lightly, only then noting
that the second Macheler was empty
causing him to raise an eyebrow.
It was
only then that he noticed a small
figure in a Venom Suit moving into
the facility with some of the
guards. A few minutes later, Tiana
was updated that the Itami was
registered, allowing her to mobilise
her forces and move in on the
facility. Roun and Rei moved in as
well, leaving the Zeta Wing in the
care of his Renegade operator. The
vehicles quickly flew past them,
making up a Demai fleet of two F-25s
and one Zeta Wing to counter the
Xelot’s two F-25s and two Detrel
MXs, while the ground troops
prepared for a clash.
Tiana
wasted no time heading for Deacon,
having a score to settle with the
Knight after their last encounter,
allowing the remaining lower level
operatives to choose their own
targets. Noting the massive energy
signature coming from the Hi-Nuun,
both Ryuu and Jayce had the same
idea, making their way for the frame
operator, while Rueben, Rayne and
Iolus moved in to take care of Paco,
Kenshin and Yasmin. Seig wasted no
time disembarking the F-25, leaving
it in the hands of the requested
pilot, forcing John and Alyssa to
intercept the heavy hitter, while
Jais lended support to all those
involved. Roun and Rei crept up
some minutes later as the battles
were underway, both of them
utilising their stealth abilities to
remain hidden as they plotted a way
of extracting Setto without actually
making themselves a part of the
battle. Roun’s scans detected four
meta-human guards on the inside of
the facility, watching over Setto
and most likely waiting for a chance
to get him through the commotion
into one of the Macheler’s so he
could be extracted, as all the Light
Assault Vehicles were involved in
full aerial combat. Back in the Air,
Cy seemed to be the dominant force
on the Demai, his fast reaction time
and adept knowledge of his
surroundings granted by True Sight
made him a force to be reckoned
with, while Jinzo and Bobby did
their best to compensate for Seig’s
new pilot’s inexperience.
Back on
the ground, Rueben, Rayne and Iolus
were struggling against Paco,
Kenshin and Yasmin. Rueben easily
negated a number of Kenshin’s
dimension based techniques, but with
Rayne and Iolus providing mainly
support, Paco’s heavy hitting was
quickly becoming a problem, forcing
Jais to focus speficially on
supporting that team. Jayce and
Ryuu were having a field day against
the inexperienced pilot of the Hi-Nuun,
being the first to finish off their
targets, allowing Ryuu to lend
support against Paco, just as Iolus
fell while Jayce moved to intercept
Seig. Seig was making short work of
Alyssa, who found that every time
she moved from behind John she was
being hit and hit hard, leaving her
near reversion by the time that
Jayce moved in to even the odds.
With
everyone engaged, Roun decided to
make his move, grabbing Rei by the
hand and silhouette sliding past the
commotion, pressing himself up
against the wall as Rei did the same
some distance behind him. Roun was
startled slightly by the massive
energy surges given off when Deacon
and Tiana engaged their Omega
Drives, kicking their battle up
quite a bit, but he would calm down
when he realised that his Silhouette
Veil and Tunnel Driver proved to be
stealthy enough to keep him off
their radars.
Infact,
Roun and Rei would not even be
noticed until they engaged the
meta-human guards on the inside,
making quick work of them before
Roun grabbed the boy. Needless to
say, he was met with resistance, but
with his meta-human status, their
was little he could do to stop Roun,
and once Roun showed him the Itami
Royal Crest flowing through him, the
youngster became far more
cooperative. Unfortunately,
however, the commotion inside
notified those outside that
something was going wrong, causing
those with the Xelots to turn their
attentions inward, forcing the Demai
and their team to keep them busy
while Roun made his escape.
Roun
wasted no time powering up his form
to max, engaging his own recently
unlocked Omega Drive, pumping all of
his energy into his Temporal Shift
as he grabbed the youngster before
clearing the facility.
He would
appear exactly one kilometre away,
where he and the boy would board
Ryuu’s Zeta Wing and make a break
for it, allowing Rei and the
Renegade to head into the battle
battle.
By this
time, Rayne, Iolus and Alyssa had
been reverted from the Demai’s side,
while Kenshin seemed to be the only
Xelot accomplice that met his end.
By this time however Rueben’s
Nightmare Landscape had sunk into
the atmosphere and began to stilled
a dehabilitating fear on the Xelots
on the battle field as Jais boosted
the effects of this status attack.
With their enemies now preoccupied
attempting to fight this, Jayce and
Ryuu made quick work of the heavily
damaged Seig and Yasmin, forcing
Paco to retreat before a
transmittion came in from Ryuu’s
Zeta Wing, informing them that a
continued battle would be pointless,
as their target was now in Roun’s
custody, and we was too far out of
their reach for a pursuit to be
feasible.
Outcome: The Oyan, now
identified to be Prince Setto Itami,
son of the current ruler of the
Itami Empire, Tenno-Heika Kairi
Itami, has been released into the
custody of the Terran Itamis and is
now under the watchful eye of Shin
Itami. Shin has acknowledged
the efforts of the Order of Demai in
ensuring that the boy be delivered
safely to his care, and has stated
that their assistance will not go
unrewarded. |

Black Ops: Mercenaries and
associates infiltrate the Thaymeign
facility in Cuba. |
|
Given
the difficulties that he foresaw
with the operation, Cloud was smart
enough to know that he and his team
would need guidance, as an advanced
infiltration plan to be executed
with such a large group was out of
their league, especially given the
design of many of their forms. For
this operation, he would need
Bayman’s assistance, or more
accurately, Bayman’s leadership.
Cloud had also been smart enough to
arrange a replacement for Bayman,
while he was out of Amsterdam,
convincing Ryuu to take his place as
the Itami would get a chance to have
that talk with Misha Teragi that
Bayman had denied him.
Once
Bayman arrived on the scene in Cuba,
he reviewed the strategies of Cloud
and Xian, which differed quite a bit
for a joint venture, forcing him to
filter out a lot of the
disorganisation can come up with a
hybrid plan. Cloud’s plan being far
more indepth, served as the basis
for the infiltration, while elements
from Xian’s plan was incorporated to
boost the efficiency of the stealth
run. With this, Bayman now assigned
new posts to everyone. Rei Selen,
Cloud, the operator of his Ghost
frame and Bayman would be the main
infiltration unit, as Bayman, the
Ghost and Rei excelled at stealth,
while Cloud was the member on which
the plan hinged. The least stealthy
of the group, Rei Murasame, Rayne
Itami, Donovan Cael, Xian and
Gabriel would make up the hacking
team and try to bring the systems of
the facility under the control of
the mercenary squadron.
As they
prepared for the infiltration, the
entire team geared up in all black
suits, equipping a number of
identity protecting devices before
they made the final checks and
headed towards the facility.
Out of
the group, Rei Selen was the only
one allowed to power up, as she
would not only be able to go
undetected, but also identify the
trips and security measures to
ensure that the rest of the group
did not set off any alarms before
they made it inside. As the moved
in, following Rei’s lead, Bayman and
Gabriel carried most of the
equipment, while Cloud transported
the 100 kg generator on his back.
Rei did a good job of leading them
through the maze of trips, around to
the back of the facility, near the
base of it where she had originally
determined would be the best place
to enter the facility. Bayman had
been able to request an electrically
power drilling rig, one which he and
Gabriel would use to carve a hole in
the side of the facility, and
hopefully not trip the security
systems. Once again, Rei Selen did
her best to aid them in avoiding the
trips linked to the wall, slowing
down the process quite a bit, but
allowing them to make it inside
without setting off a single alarm.
As they made their way into the
facility now, the teams would split
up, utilising fake names and call
signs to hide their true identities
as they proceeded inwards.
Rei
continued to lead the stealth team,
with Bayman powering his form up
minimally now and utilising his own
scanning as they continued into the
facility, leading Cloud through the
trips that they could identify as
they attempted to make their way
through the facility.
So far,
their infiltration attempt had gone
smoothly, mostly thanks to Rei
Selen’s knowledge of the facility,
but the newly installed defences
were a mystery to even her, so they
would need to proceed cautiously.
Rei Murasame and the hacking team
made their way to the nearest
interface point, where Rei and Xian
wasted no time interfacing with the
console and began their hacking
attempts. The hacking of zeta based
technology was quite new to Xian,
but using his Beast Master summon he
began to pick up on the process
following Rei’s lead as she lead the
hacking attempt. Rayne exhibited
some hacking abilities as well, so
under Bayman’s order he attempted to
lend a hand in the endeavour, while
following Rei’s lead. Unfortunately
for the hacking team however, their
limited experience was a determining
factor in the limit of their
success, giving them only minor
interface capabilities with the
system and preventing them from
gaining complete control over the
system. This made it somewhat
difficult for them to make their
presence in the system, as their
attempts to access vital functions
like scanning and security features
as well as more vital information
with regards to the scientists who
had claimed the facility, began to
draw attention to their presence.
Luckily, the facility did not have
the luxury of a squadron of
Controllers to maintain it’s
security, meaning that they would
only need to deal with a single
Controller class channeler to
complete their task.
Bayman
paused as he turned to Cloud and Rei,
alerting them to the fact that they
would need to hurry. The hacking
team’s failure to take over the
systems didn’t have too large an
effect on the stealth unit, as the
Controller monitoring the security
system had only become aware of the
hacking team, allowing Bayman’s unit
to proceed without having to deal
with any blast doors or security
lock downs. Unfortunately however,
their attempts to tamper with the
facility had two very disconcerting
effects. The first was the
notification of local law
enforcement that the facility had
been broken into, meaning that the
team would need to be out in 4 to 6
minutes if they wanted to avoid a
confrontation with the police. The
second however was more problematic,
as a DMZ was projective over the
facility, causing both teams to
power down and disabling all of
their add-ons and other zeta powered
devices. This put the infiltration
team in the dark with regard to the
defensive systems, forcing them to
proceed with extreme caution, while
the hacking team now found itself
locked out of the system, being
unable to do much to help the
operation.
Bayman
and Rei managed to get Cloud a bit
closer to the room which housed the
memory core, but the weight of the
generator on his back had began to
take it’s toll on the channeler and
was now beginning to affect his
movement. It was only a matter of
time before they would trip a
security measure, causing the three
to be locked down behind three feet
thick blast door. Cloud cursed
loudly now, noting that they were no
more than 30 feet from the room that
housed the memory core. Bayman
sighed audibly, calling the two
channelers in his charge over to his
locatiooin, garnering their
assistance in removing the
side-panel of the generator which
they carried as he attempted to make
some basic modifications to it. The
process did take some time, but in
just minutes, Bayman managed to get
the device to power on, generating a
restricted bubble of zeta that
neutralised the DMZ’s effects.
Having just over a minute left,
Cloud wasted no time in powered up
his form, utilising his C. Scanners
to perform a scan of the area in an
attempt to get data on the memory
core which they had lost. Bayman on
the other hand wasted no time in
utilising his Kientic Charge on the
blast doors, pumping them full of
energy before jumping back and
utilising a concentrated form of his
Kinetic Detonation to blow a hole in
the wall.
“Forcefull extraction in 30
seconds.” Came the notice from
Mission Control at Fort David, as
Cloud did his best to complete the
temporal scans of the memory core,
and hopefully salvage the mission.
With
Cloud’s Limit Break at max output,
and utilising the full power of the
generator at his disposal, he was
able to get his scans to 78% of
completion before the police squad
dispatched to the area teleported
in, forcing the Mercenaries to
utilising their own teleportation
technology to transport the entire
team out of the area and into a
specialised stealthed carrier.
Cloud growled, transferring the
information which he had connected
to a secure data storage device and
handing it to Bayman. It would be
up to the teams back at the
Mercenary Research and Development
facility to determine whether or not
the mission was a success or not.
Outcome: The Mercenary Team have
managed to collect a large portion
of the information contained in the
memory core, though key parts of the
data were unfrotunately unable to be
recovered. Despite this, the
mission was considered to be for the
most part a success. it is
suspected that the army was involved
in the break-in, but no definitive
evidence would be found to link them
to the break. Under Cloud's
recommendation, the Mercenary Army
has extended invitations to Rei
Murasame and Rei Selen to join the
army. |

Simple Test: Gabriel, Testing Mission. |
|
When
Gabriel made his way to Sentry, he
wasted no time in making his was to
the simulation room to test the new
Combat Suit that was being developed
for the Mercenary Army. Gabriel
realised that the suit was a
replacement for his regular
expansion suit, possessing a number
of similar feature but with a
greatly expanded arsenal of
functions. As Gabriel equipped the
suit, he put the various systems to
a brief test, whipping out the
combat knife that came with the suit
and performing a few attacks before
he placed it back in the holster and
moved into the simulation room.
Gabriel
was assured that the guard units
were automated, so he would use as
much force as he desired, which was
reassuring as he entered the
facility.
The
combat suit did a pretty good job in
masking his ethereal signature has
he proceeded, working well with his
wind expansions to give him a whispy
appearance as he moved through the
facility. His levitation allowed
Gabriel to avoid any pressure
sensitive trips, allowing him to
quickly traverse the initial section
of the facility, as he snook up
behind a number of the automated
guard units, testing the combat
knife which allowed him to easily
dispatch the automa after a blast
from his Signium Crucious.
Admittedly, Gabriel wasn’t the
stealthiest in some situations, but
he utilised the features of the suit
well, getting quickly accustomed to
the scanners and learning to utilise
the tactical uplink to access
suggestions in his infiltration plan
as those in the control room
monitored his overall stealth
rating.
With
Gabriel’s high combat rating, none
of the guard interactions were
particularly challenging, allowing
him to easily dispatch them as he
made his way to the centre of the
facility to complete the mission.
Once done, Gabriel would unequip the
suit and hand it in for them to run
the final calibrations before
releasing it to the army.
Outcome: Minor bugs have been
worked out with the stealth system,
and the shape of the combat knife
has been adjusted to better suit
stealth kills. The scanners
have been modified to better
identify invisible traps. The
Combat Suit will be ready for use by
the 12th of August. |

Benefits of True Leadership:
Xelots, Cleaning Up Mission. (17/08/2401) |
|
The
Xelot squadron assembled on the
outskirts of the facility, which
they had been assigned to
infiltrate, their mission being to
take the occupants of the facility
into custody, under the charge of
conspiracy against the French
Government. Using Kenshin’s general
information, the team was able
formulate a reasonably effective
plan, though Deacon was forced to
fix a few hiccups that he foresaw
would have gone down. As intended,
Loki was designated to lead the Gold
Team, whose main mission was to
dispatch the generator housed under
the facility. Deacon signed off on
their plans for the most part, but
opted to go with Crydus’ approach to
breaching the basement walls and
dealing with the generator rather
than the more brute force method
that Seig and Donovan had suggested.
With
this, Seig, Donovan, Rayne and
Crydus took off towards the
facility, with Seig and Donovan
using their Chaos Theory and
Monstrous respectively to mask the
spikes of the team, while Rayne did
his best to aid in the process and
Crydus provided additional energy
for the two power houses. Their
stealth capabilities were for the
most part effective, only causing
small disturbances in the readouts
of the scanning devices present in
the facility. This did cause the
terrorist faction to put themselves
on a higher level of alert than they
would have previously been on, but
they still had little idea of what
to do other than wait and watch. As
the team reached the zeta reinforced
walls of the basement, they
attempted to expand the stealth
bubble, with each member of the team
powering up to full in an attempt to
breach the walls. Like Deacon
suggested, the original plan of
simply forcefully breaching the
walls of the facility seemed like a
bad idea, as it would destroy the
element of surprise, had it taken
longer than they predicted, so he
had authorised Crydus to enter the
facility solo, and turn off the
generator, allowing the others to
proceed in.
Crydus’
plan was actually quite ingenious,
though the fusion process which
allowed him to pass through the
structure did prove to be quite
difficult, requiring quite a bit of
concentration on his part, before he
achieved it. Unfortunately for the
morpher, he would be met face to
face with another channeler in the
generator room, who launched a
powerful punch to his face, knocking
him back into the wall as he began
to emerge. Crydus reeled backwards
from the impact, moving quickly
through the structure now, much to
his detriment, before blasting
himself out of the wall towards the
generator on the other side of the
room. As it would seem, the high
output of the generator prevented
Kenshin’s scans from identifying the
guard present in the basement room,
forcing Crydus to deal with him
before the others would be allowed
into the facility.
His
presence put the terrorist team on
high alert, as they now made their
ways throughout the facility for the
preparation of a strike. Shifting
to his earth morph, Crydus now used
the facility as grounding,
preventing him from taking recoil as
he whipped out his cannon staff,
guarding and deflecting another two
melee strikes before flipping the
weapon around and blasting his
opponent. His attack managed to
cause the psycher to stumble back
somewhat, before he launched a terra
thrust at the channeler, knocking
him into a nearby wall and rushing
to deactivate the generator.
With no
zeta running through the structures,
the walls now became permeable,
allowing the Gold Team to make their
way into the facility, Seig and
Donovan especially wasting no time
going to work on the channeler that
had attacked Crydus, using their
combined energies to target the
psycher that now turned to flee.
At the
same time, the Blue Team, consisting
of Jinzo, Bobby, Jubei and Deacon
made their way towards the
facility. Deacon was slightly
surprised to see the three
channelers charging towards the
facility however, as he instead sent
forward the four light assault
vehicles that they had at the
disposal, each piloted by a unit
subordinate to him.
The two
F-25s blasted forward, watching as
the facility came to life with
automated and manned turret class
defences, each having their own
personalised generator allowing them
to function independently of the
warehouse facility. Wasting no time
in delivering their napalm missile
payloads at the manned turrets, the
F-25 thrusted past, setting the
operators of the turrets on fire as
Kenshin, who had been hiding in the
ventilation once again, stealthed
his way into the main section of the
facility with a Ghost operator.
The
explosions shook the facility, which
was now unreinforced, allowing
Kenshin to move in amongst the
confusion and dispatch the
channelers which were on fire.
Seconds later, the Gold Team stormed
the main level of the facility,
arriving just in time to meet the
Blue team that was descending on the
now cornered channelers. Even so
however, they were still outnumbered
when they counted channelers against
channelers, forcing them to rely on
the frame operators to pick up the
slack.
As
Deacon now rushed to the head of the
Blue team, he busted into the
facility first, shielding an
incoming photon attack with his Long
Shield before summoning his Griphon
for assistance. Bobby slid to a
stop behind him, being shielded by
Deacon’s natural defences and
opening fire on the team that had
taken up defensive positions inside
of the facility. The three
Armadillo frames present did their
best to add suppression fire as
well, while Deacon summoned his
Suppression units to add to the
cause, allowing Jinzo to storm in
utilising Dark Messiah and make a
beeline for the group closest to
him.
Deacon
raised an eyebrow as Jinzo’s rash
movements, ordering Griphon to lend
his charge some assistance, while
Suppression focussed on those
terrorist that were being held back
by the Armadillo’s and Bobby. This
left him with little free energy,
forcing him to rely on his physical
combat skills and permanent
attributes to deal with the
resistance that he encountered.
Donovan
wasted no time retreating to a
position where he was sure that he
would not be attacked, sending
Rutaedes in his stead to lend
tactical support to the teams, while
Rayne and Seig did their best to
engage their targets in the
facilities. Even with Kenshin’s
information however, it still seemed
as though the residents of the
warehouse had the tactical
advantage. In fact, apart from the
suppression fire that was being laid
down, and Deacon’s ability to hold
his own in combat, it appeared as
though the Xelot compliment was not
only being outmanned, but being out
thought as well.
Seeing
this, Deacon now concentrated his
energies into Gryphon, charging it
to add the finishing blow to one of
the channelers engaging him, before
utilising the energy splitting
properties of Disca and Reverb to
forcefully revert his next
opponent. At this point, Bobby and
Donovan seemed to be his greatest
assets, as Donovan’s Iridicon did a
great job in suppressing the
channelling abilities of the
terrorists, allowing the others to
prey on them, and his Monstrous
allowed him to quickly revert a few
of the others that had taken heavy
damage from the suppression fire.
Bobby just proved to be all around
handy, providing suppression as well
as being able to finish with his
Celestial Judgement, aiding Deacon
in evening out the numbers so that
they could concentrate their
abilities on channelers that were
having less success. Rayne and
Crydus required the most help,
neither of them being particularly
heavy hitters, and suffering against
the highly tactical combat styles of
the trained ex-military terrorists
that they found themselves
fighting. This caused Donovan to
focus most of Rutaedes’ power and
combat advice on these two, while
Bobby now focussed on backing up
Jinzo in his Dark Messiah form.
Jubei and Seig proved to be a useful
team, though their varying styles
made them easy to separate for their
opponents, forcing Deacon to now
focus his powers on synchronising
those two, and aid them in
dispatching the final threats.
Deacon’s
high combat prowess, when combined
with Seig and Jubei’s high energy
output allowed them to dispatch
their opponent’s first.
Unfortunately, by this time, Seig
was far too low on health to be of
use in the battle, forcing Deacon to
order him to retreat, while he and
Jubei proceeded to aid Rayne and
Crydus against the others. Seig
would be the victim of stray fire,
leading to an early reversion,
forcing the operator of the Ghost
frame to grab his unconscious body
and lead him to safety. This was
not too hard as the single channeler
that followed them outside met his
demise at the hand of four light
assault vehicles, cutting the
terrorist numbers to a mere four.
With Rayne falling next, this still
left the numbers in the Xelots’
favour, and the Cation Partical
Bazookas of the Armadillo’s had no
become a powerful factor in the
battle. Without the terrorist being
able to force the frames to utilise
their defensive prowess, this
allowed Deacon to order them onto a
search and destroy strategy,
allowing them to aid the other heavy
hitters in concentrating fire on the
final terrorists, reverting the
channelers. With this done and the
facility neutralised, Deacon would
order in the clean up team to
apprehend the unconscious survivors
and confiscate the useful aspects of
the warehouse.
Outcome: The Xelot Army has
successful infiltrated and
neutralised the facility and its
occupants. Mission successful.
Deacon
DeSaint has extended an invitation
to Jubei Naoe to join the Xelot
Knights.
Under
Seig's suggestion, the Xelot Knights
have also extended an invitation to
Crydus Warren and Donovan Cael who
proved to be quite useful in the
execution of the mission. |

Slow
Start, Strong Finish:
Demai, Hidden Dragon Mission. (19/08/2401) |
|
The
Demai transport carrier was divided
into two main groups, with Jayce and
Tiana unusually close, while the
other operatives stayed together and
discussed their personal strategies
for aiding in the infiltration of
the facility. The Demai operatives
had also been sent to dispatch an
enemy warehouse, though their prime
objective was not the destruction of
the facility, but the acquisition of
a weapon inside of it.
With
this in mind, the carrier landed
some distance away from the target
facility, dropping off it’s
occupants and the five light assault
vehicles which they possessed before
taking up and leaving the area. As
they went over the plan for the
final team, Tiana stood back,
sighing inaudibly, causing Jayce the
slightest bit of amusement as he too
marvelled at the incompletion of
their tactics. Regardless of this
however, he relinquished his
personal subordinate into the hands
of his Field Sargeant, before he and
Jayce made their way towards the
facility to commence the
infiltration.
Demai
mission control had rated the
structural integrity of the facility
and its subsystems as sub-Outpost
class, the only reason that Jayce
and Jais infiltration was approved,
as military installations were quite
equipped to pierce the stealth of
channelers at their level. As they
moved towards the isolated facility,
the two scoped out the area,
attempting to decide the best point
of entry for their infiltration
attempt. Unlike with warehouses, it
wasn’t very easy to make it into the
ventaliation system of the militia’s
facility, forcing Jayce to make his
way into the facility via an opening
form one of the turrets, while Jais
used his techniques to fuse his way
through the walls before trying to
squeeze his way into the vents from
inside of the facility. Not being
able to maintain communications
during their stealthy infiltrations,
Jayce and Jais just did their best
to steer clear of areas that were
already lined with the various
explosive and zeta disrupting mines
that they had brought.
The two
had little problem moving through
the facility, both being extremely
well adapted for stealth and
infiltration, allowing them to
complete their goal within the five
minutes designated to them. As the
assault team now began to move
towards the facility, the two
infiltrators got as far away from
their own bombs and detonated them,
managing to disable a number of the
facility’s defences. The zeta
disruption mines now scrambled the
power distribution abilities of the
facility, creating glaring
weak-spots as the two controllers
present now attempted to reroute
power to maintain structural
integrity. Unfortunately, the
explosive mines that now went to
work blowing chunks out of the
facility made this quite difficult,
disabling 3 of the 6 turrets present
on the facility, as well as heavily
damaging another one. With none of
the ships powered up however, the
zeta disruption mines did little
against them, still leaving 2 Zeta
Elixers, 2 Zeta Sabers and a Detrel
MX for the incoming assault team to
deal with.
With Cy
and Rueben providing long range
support, Tiana opted to do the same,
while Alyssa, John and the Armadillo
and Socrates operators moved
forward. Tiana did this mainly to
prove a point, as Cy and Rueben
quickly realised that their area of
influence was nothing compared to
the range of the facility, leaving
them two options, either getting
within range of the facility’s
turrets and being blasted, or
staying out of range and being
useless. Unfortunately, her team
suffered from her harsh teaching
methods, as John, Alyssa and the
operator of the frame quickly found
themselves over run by the remaining
defences. Tiana sighed yet again,
snapping her fingers and ordering
her subordinates into battle. As
she did this, an F-25 and a Zeta
Wing flew past overhead, barrel
rolling to avoid the incoming turret
fire before releasing two missiles
each and pulling up, having taken
only small amounts of damage.
As the
pulled up, they now found themselves
being targeted by the five light
assault vehicles present on the
ground. Tiana sighed once again,
realising that she was missing move
of the action, now signalling for
Cy’s transformers to lend support,
before she forced the Armadillo to
retreat and utilise Rueben’s Zeta
Wing to lend even further
assistance. The modified F-25 and
Zeta Wing wasted no time in
dispatching the damaged turrets,
before focusing their fire on the
complete neutralisation of the
facility’s defences, for now
ignoring the ground based light
assault vehicles that were now
focussed on targeting them, allowing
Tiana to move in to lend assistance
to John and Alyssa, while Cy and
Rueben closed the distance to put
them within striking range so they
could lend useful support.
On the
inside, Jais was still under
stealth, using his ability to move
undetected, in conjunction with the
created confusion to search the
facility for the weapon which they
had been sent to retrieve. With
this in motion, Jayce dropped his
stealth and powered up his defensive
armaments, opening the assault on
the two channelers who were held up
inside the facility waiting for the
light assault pilots to dispatch the
ships before they moved out to deal
with the Demai channelers that were
attacking. Jayce’s ambush had one
major pro and a similar con. The
bonus to this action was that it
almost garaunteed that Jayce would
meet little to no resistance,
leaving the morpher to deal with
just meta-humans and users, whom he
easily despatched as he homed in on
the device. The problem with this
was that Jayce now drew the fire of
not only the two channelers he
attacked but the frame users that
now homed in on his location to lend
their comrades assistance.
Targeting the Detrel MX, while the
rest of her team focussed in on the
easier to despatch Elixers and
Sabers, Tiana was forced to utilise
the full extend of her Prodigy
to boost he power, so that she could
damage the vehicle and avoid most of
its returned fire to avoid
reversion.
With
Rueben’s Zeta Wing now in the air,
the Armadillo pilot wasted no time
moving over the battle field. The
ship entered the fray just in time
to witness the destruction of the
final turret defences and the
scanning and communications array of
the facility, allowing the now
moderately damaged vehicles to turn
their attentions to the ground. At
the same time, Jayce blasted his way
through one of the weakened portions
of the facility’s wall. Having
engaged his R.E.D. Trance, just was
now making a beeline for the rest of
his team, bringing after him a swarm
of moderate to heavily damaged
frames and a single surviving
channeler. At the same time, Jais
gave the signal, for the
transforming Zeta Wing of Cy’s to
pick up the device which had managed
to procure. Tiana went to work now,
utilising her phenomenal accuracy to
despatch the four weakest frame
users, signalling to Jayce to
teleport behind the rest of the
front line forces while they
engaged. John did a good job to
keep the rest of the incoming fire
away from Jayce, who was now heavily
damaged after dealing with such a
large number of opponents
simultaneously, while Alyssa did her
best to assist him. Tiana also
moved in, taking to melee combat as
she made use of her double edged
Aurora Blade, and forearm mounted
Prism Guard to cleave through the
swarm, giving Jayce enough time to
compose himself and lend ranged
support like Cy and Rueben and the
operator of the Sentinel frame that
cy had requested.
As the
Zeta Wing blasted out of the area at
full speed, Tiana assigned Jayce’s
subordinate to accompany it, incase
it ran into any trouble, leaving the
other three vehicles to monitor the
battlefield from the sky and ensure
that the Demai maintained the upper
hand. Precise blasts from Tiana’s
F-25’s Particle Cannon would do the
trick, taking the team to the end
without any reversions, a reality
that Tiana did not expect. Seeing
this, the teams boarded their
various vehicles and moved to the
extraction point to await the Demai
Transport Carrier’s return.
Outcome: The Demai have captured
ans stripped the facility for useful
technology before destroying the
remains. Mission complete. |

Unnecessary, Overpowered, Efficient:
Rogues, Lending Assistance Mission.
(21/08/2401) |
|
With the
Xelots having pulled out close to
the last minute, the Rogues’ three
prong strike seemed to have gone to
hell, leaving Hyaku and Roun to come
up with a modification to the plan
that would allow them to execute it
within the timeframe that they had
set themselves. With their manpower
cut in half, and given the power of
the adversaries, splitting into
three equally divided teams was
suicide, and unbalancing the teams
could only garauntee success for at
most two teams, ending is horrible
failure for the third. It was given
this situation that Roun and Hyaku
made a drastically, and probably
greatly unnecessary suggestion.
Hyaku and Roun, though they didn’t
particularly mind otherwise,
preferred not to rely to heavily on
help from other factions, instead
suggesting that Tyler purchase a
Carrier class vehicle with her money
to serve as main transport, and more
importantly, flagship of the fleet
that the Rogues would take to
wipeout the Cartels that their
faction had been assigned to deal
with.
The
convincing process was a long one,
but the two were finally able to
persuade their Field Commander, who
put in the order for the craft just
one day before their mission. This
allowed them to breath a sigh of
relief, as the craft more than
compensated for the lack in man
power, allowing them to proceed to
Columbia for their mission. With
Tyler’s new Terrapin, the need for a
transport carrier was simply not
there, as the Rogues all piled into
the craft and made their way to the
locations, proceeding to the first
meeting house in a covertable Detrel
MX to keep up their image.
The
Rogue plan was a simple one, they
would stage a meeting with the head
of the Cartel, at their main
headquarters, at which time, they
would create an attack on the
outside to split the attentions of
the enemy forces, utilising a divide
and conquer strategy. Hyaku’s
exotic look was now amplified by
his dark hair, which he let out of
the pony tail, wearing a tailor made
suit and designer sunglasses to
complete his look. Roun and Paco
dressed the part as well, wearing
custom fitted suits, dark glasses
and leather gloves, posing as
Hyaku’s personal bodyguards.
As they
met with the first cartel leader,
and most likely the only one that
they would be able to meet with
given that their strike on this
facility would probably put the
other cartels on high alert, the
three made their way into the
meeting room and sat, both Roun and
Paco carrying large cases of the
drugs which the Rogues had
confiscated from the production
facility in Italy. Showing the
contents of their cases
authenticated their fake cartel
enough to make the records which the
Rogues had planted passable,
allowing them to begin negotiations
before the structure of the
warehouse was shaken by fire from
the outside.
“What
the hell is this? You’re betraying
us?” Hyaku exclaimed as jumped to
his feet, causing Roun and Paco to
power up and move to his side as if
to protect him. “You think you can
take over my cartel if you kill me,
think again!” Hyaku now continued,
causing the host of the meeting to
rise to his feet slowly, his eye
slowly fixing themselves on Hyaku.
“Shut
up.” He started, now turning his
head to a group of his men, then to
the door, sending that unit to
investigate. “If I wanted you dead,
you would be dead… you, your men and
your family. That fact that you’re
still breathing is a testament to
the fact that this is something
different.”
The
three channelers scoped out the room
now, sizing up the cartel leader and
the remaining unit of four personal
body guards and six other channelers.
From their disregard of Roun’s and
Paco’s signature, the two could
assume that his personal body guards
were stronger than the Rogues on the
inside, though if the surveillance
team was any testament to the power
of the other channelers, the three
had a chance to revert them if they
could manage a strong enough sneak
attack.
Back on
the outside, the Rogues were having
a field day. The initial strike was
made by Hyaku’s Zeta Wing, which
made a quick pass, drawing out the
turrets hiding in the structure of
the warehouse and unleashing
it’s true power. As the defensive
armament powered up, the Terrapin’s
long range scanners registered them
to be on par with that of an Outpost
class facility, causing the ground
troops to think twice before rushing
in. Tyler wasted no time powering
up the ship’s Hyper Drive system,
and warping it into the area,
unleashing the remaining light
assault vehicles from it’s docking
bay before it turn it’s attention to
neutralising the facility’s external
defences, and most importantly
communications array. Needless to
say, with the power of its photon
cannons, this wasn’t a difficult
task, allowing the less experience
pilots to get some target practice
at the severely outmatched facility.
With the
external defences now busy with the
airbourne threats, the Rogues and
their frames rushed into the fray,
with Tyler leading the charge as
they met the squadron of channelers
and frame users. With the five
remaining Rogue officiers (including
Roun’s new subordinate Nicola Cage),
accompanied by Sun Lee and Zadavia
Mareno, who could by now be
considered a Junior Rogue, engaging
the team of six channelers and eight
man frame squad, the fact that each
Rogue had requested their full
compliment of subordinates for the
mission, as well as Tyler bringing
her full load of 8 subordinates,
proved to be a huge factor in the
battle, tilting the scales in the
favour of the Rogues when it came to
man power.
Back on
the inside, the three Rogues leading
the operation were quite hesitant to
make the first move, until Hyaku
finally bit the bullet and launched
the first attack. Knowing that he
would not be able to avoid damage in
such an enclosed room, Hyaku powered
straight into his Omega Drive,
utilising his Phasic affinity to
quickly shift towards the six lower
level channelers, before expanding a
viral wave in an event to neutralise
them quickly. The second he moved,
Roun powered into his Omega Drive as
well, the green streak in his hair
glowing white along with his
clothing that was not covered with a
white armour, transmuted from
elements in the atmostphere. To
cover his teammates, Roun used his
Enthalpy affinity to flash construct
a reinforced wall between the cartel
leader, his personal body guards and
them, allowing Paco to engage his
own Omega Drive and expand a Cronus
Chaotic Freeze and Hyaku’s Victims,
concentrating their energies to
revert the team while Roun did his
best to keep up the wall. It
wouldn’t really be long before
Roun’s wall fell, but with Hyaku and
Paco’s increably high energy
outputs, the low level channelers
didn’t stand too much of a chance,
forcing the three to now engage four
level 12 channelers while the Don
fled.
Roun
wasted no time calling for backup,
forcing the outside team to utilise
their air cover to a higher extent,
allowing Tyler and Leonardo to enter
the room and provide assistance
against the four channelers.
Amusingly enough, the outcome of
their battle would matter very
little, as the Terrapin circling
over head destroyed any hopes of the
cartel leader actually escaping,
allowing Kenshin and his Ghost
subordinate to easily collect him
once his reversion was confirmed.
Back on
the inside, the five Rogues managed
to hold their own long enough for
their teammates to swarm in and take
the facility, despatching the last
of the occupants before calling the
local police department and the
Rogue clean up teams to deal with
the aftermath.
With the
first facility having fallen, and
communications having been taken
out, the Rogues moved onward to the
remaining two facilities, taking
more direct attacking approaches, as
their ‘meeting’ plan would not have
worked again. As the battles ran
on, and their healths dwindled down,
Tyler authorised the Terrapin to use
more force in neutralising the
cartels. Being outclassed and
outnumbered, the results for the
remaining two facilities were the
same, and with the Hyper Drive of
the Terrapin, fleeinig was simply
not an option for the cartels,
allowing the Rogues to clean up the
cartels and finish their mission
without a single reversion.
Outcome: The Rogues have
annihilated the three major cartels
in columbia. Mission complete.

The Beauty of Contingencies:
Mercenaries, Benefactors Mission.
(29/08/2401) |
|
These
mysterious benefactors had been a
thorn in the Mercenaries’ side for
far too long, and the army was
prepared to make the first real
assault against the secretive
organisation.
As the
mercenary ground team, consisting of
Xian, Donovan, Rayne and Rei
Murasame, along with a number of
subordinates, took up their position
some distance from the large
settlement, Cloud, Gabriel and
Bayman prepared themselves for the
tactical aerial assault. Under
Bayman’s orders, the three came from
pretty far out, holding a low
altitude as the moved in, allowing
them to go undetected for as long as
possible before the strike began.
As predicted, the sentinel towers
sprang to life, connecting to erect
a barrier around the settlement,
before a number of the warehouse
facility opened up and mobile
turrets came forth to defend the
base. Bayman pulled up first,
causing Cloud and Gabriel to follow
his lead. As the turned upwards,
the anti air turrets went to work
targeting their ships, causing them
to do their best to evade the fire
before Bayman led them into a dive.
“Target
the sentinel towers with your
screwdriver missiles.” He advised,
launching off the first burst of his
payload towards the stationary
towers, before barrel rolling to
avoid flak cannon fire, then banking
hard to the right and swooping away
so he could prepare for another
strike.
Gabriel
and Cloud were far less graceful I
the skies, taking on a bit more
damage before they too were able to
get off their screwdriver missiles
at the towers, splitting up to come
around for another pass. Bayman’s
eyes lit up as he activated his
Tunnel vision, causing time to slow
for him almost as he launched a
single screw driver missile followed
by another at the same spot, before
charging his laser. The occupant of
the tower could see the inevitable
effect of the attack, and with
Bayman coming in form an angle that
kept the tower between him and the
laser turrets which the facility
possessed he could see no way to try
to combat it, doing his best to leap
from the tower to avoid the
impending doom.
As the
first missile bore into the barrier,
the second missile bore into the
first, breaching the barrier at a
single point, allowing Bayman to
target the tower with his Piercing
Laser which he had now fully
charged. The burst ionised the air
as it passed, totally destroying the
tower and breaching the energy
field, and Gabriel and Cloud now
came around for another pass. This
time, they both focussed on a single
tower, targeting the tower next to
that which Bayman had destroyed,
focusing their fire power on that
point to destroy the tower as well
before they pulled up. By now,
Cloud’s Zeta Wing was exhibiting the
heaviest damage, causing him to fall
back and follow in either Gabriel or
Bayman when they made their passes,
now targeting the Mobile Turrets to
make the mission easier.
With a
great section of the barrier
disabled, Donovan could now extend
Rutaedes into the settlement,
allowing him to target the mobile
turrets as he attempted to lend
assistance to the aerial assault
team. His help proved to be
slightly helpful, but he lacked the
necessary control to focus his
attacks into stable enough
constructs to damage the turrets
heavily, a task that Cloud, Gabriel
and Bayman were charged with.
As the
turrets began to fall, Cloud was
forced to pull back, leaving Bayman
and Gabriel to clean up. Gabriel’s
Temporal Enhancement, along with Za
Warudo proved to be very useful in
this battle, actually allowing him
to keep up with and support Bayman
rather well, though the number of
turrets that came from inside of the
facility made the task quite
daunting, even with two experience
channelers piloting. Seeing this,
Bayman changed around the plan,
disembarking his vehicle early, and
blasting his way towards one of the
undamaged mobile turrets. His Zeta
Wing, now piloted by his Renegade
operator covered his descent,
allowinig him to land safely on the
turret, planting a Kinetic Explosive
on the device before back flipping
off and watching as the turret
detonated violently, damaging those
around it. Seeing this, Cloud made
another quick pass with his own Zeta
Wing, handing over control of the
ship while her too disembarked,
wrapping himself in his Ultimate
Guard and hurling himself towards
one of the undamaged turrets as
well. As Cloud impacted, he blasted
straight through the turret,
crashing into the ground behind it
and rolling, before jumping away to
avoid it collapsing on him.
Their
actions evened the odds quite a bit,
and made Gabriel’s job infinitely
easier as he now turned to dispatch
as many turrets as he could while
the confusion persisted. Cloud’s
and Bayman’s landing also served to
draw the personnel of the settlement
out, allowing Donovan’s summon to go
to work lending to two support, in
keeping the lower level threats off
of them, while they did their best
to aid the aerial assault team from
the ground. Cloud’s Spartans were
quite useful, in damaging and off
balancing the turrets, allowing the
aerial team to clean up quickly,
while Bayman’s ability to generate
overpowering kinetic explosives
allowed him to take out turrets solo
from the ground.
With the
turrets dispatched, and Donovan
kicking his support into overdrive,
the aerial team finished off the
towers, allowing the ground assault
force to rush to their aid. Gabriel
ejected from his Zeta Wing, striking
a pose in midair as he descending,
still being covered by his Zeta
Wing, which had no turned to
dropping sleeping gas on the area.
The second Gabriel landed, he lended
in the ground assault, opening with
a blistering fast combo, which he
only continued to accelerate,
utilising his defense Signium
Crucious and Overwhelming Force to
shatter the guards of his opponents,
while he dominated them with
attacks.
The team
was particularly pleased to see Xian
rushing in, his Unholy form mowing
through the battle field like a
juggernaut before he slid to a stop,
raised his red right hand and
let a mass drive round rip. The
round barely missed Bayman’s should,
sailing through the air to catch one
of the channeler class occupants
square in the chest, sending him
skating almost a hundred metres from
the sheer impact. The frames lent
long range support for the most
part, while Rayne, Rei and two
ghosts searched inside of the
buildings. This was considerably
easier that the team expected, as
the doors had to be opened to bring
out the mobile turrets, making it
easy for them to be searched.
Unfortunately for the mercenaries
however, apart from the turrets,
there seemed to be little else in
the warehouses, allowing the four to
sweep through the house-like
buildings, which turned out to be
barracks, to dispatch non-combative
occupants while searching for the
generator for the facility.
With no
one in the buildings, that placed
almost forty combatants on the
battle field, forcing Cloud, Xian
and Bayman to engage their
overdrives to help them deal with
the hordes.
As Cloud
powered up his omega drive, his skin
blackened and energy began to flow
visibly through his form, seeming to
cause the ground around him to
blacken and expand, lashing out
violently to dispatch frames and
channelers alike before he drew
Ragnarok and Lawgiver, going to work
against those swarming him.
Bayman
raised an eyebrow as Cloud raved on
about his godhood, and how even the
ground blackened before his might, a
tactic that admitted inspired quite
a bit of fear in their opponents,
who now seemed far more reluctant to
assault the crazed Scion.
Rei and
Rayne quickly found the generator
and disabled it, disconnecting it
from the facility to make it easier
to retrieve before the combed the
barracks and warehouses one more
time to ensure that no one was
escaping.
Overhead, the ships did a good job
in rounding up the few channelers
that attempted to teleport outside
of the facility to avoid capture
once the Mercenaries really began
tearing through their ranks. Bayman
was especially beastly as well, as
debris had a tendency to orbit his
form, building up momentum before
being hurled off as exploding
projectiles, proving to be one of
the main causes for reversion in the
battle.
With
Donovan now focussing on supporting
Xian, who was receiving quite a bit
of damage, this allowed Gabriel,
Cloud and Bayman to move out on
their own, hunting down the
remaining occupants and dispatching
them, before signalling for the
transport carrier to proceed in and
clean up.
The
mercenaries would survey the doom
which they wrought, being quite
pleased with themselves as they
awaited the result of their actions,
hoping that the interrogation teams
would be able to extract useful
information from those which they
had captured, and that their mission
would not have been for naught.
Outcome: The Mercanry Army has
captured the facility and 95% of the
personnel present, only 5%
casualties being present in the
enemy ranks. |

Rogues, Crackdown Mission. (01/09/2401) |
|
The
Rogue Special Forces had gone to
great lengths to plan for their
upcoming assault on Don Ventimiglo’s
personal headquarters. The remotely
located facility that acted as his
home had been theorised to possess
at least Outpost class defences,
with the possibility of its fire
power reaching into the bottom
ranges of a Headquarter class
facility. With this in mind, the
team knew that they would not be
able to take this attempt likely,
and as such they wasted no time in
pulling out the stops.
The full
Rogue compliment had turned out for
the assault, in addition to Zadavia,
who had grown accustomed to
following the team in their
operations, and Cloud who had been
hired to assist the team and add to
their fire power. Roun in
particular was pleased that Cloud
had invited his brother, Ryuu, to
aid them in the mission, adding to
the power of the assault team, and
once again Leonardo had been able to
convince Sun Lee to accompany them
as well.
As Tyler
took role call, and made a register
of the weapons that the team had
brought, she was quite certain that
they had once again over done it.
The team had at its disposal 3 Rogue
Zeta Wings, as well as 2 Zeta Wings
provided by Cloud and Ryuu. These
were complimented by Paco’s modified
Gull, and the Terrapin that
transported them all. In addition
to these airborne defences, Paco had
also requested the use of the
portable turrets that the Rogues had
confiscated from the Don’s weapons
facility, adding to the fire power.
In addition to these offences, the
Rogues had just a few shy of thirty
operatives aiding in the assault,
including the assistance that they
had managed to outsource.
This
left little to go over with the
team, allowing Tyler to order the
initial strike. As the Terrapin
materialised in the area, the Rogues
were able to utilise the element of
surprise, allowing the huge craft to
open fire on the facility, which
seemed sluggish in springing to
life. Once it did power up fully
however, its fire power was quite
formidable, boasting even a medium
sized cannon to show the Rogues that
the Don did indeed mean business.
With the Terrapin drawing most of
the fire, the five Zeta Wings
deployed from the Cargo bay, leading
the way, as Paco’s Gull followed
suit, once again drawing further
fire before the Portable Turrets
were deployed along with a mobile
unit, referred to simply as PHR (pronounced
fear).
Seeing
the overwhelming force of the Rogue
Special Forces, the Don wasted no
time in deploying his own modified
assault vehicles. As a businessman,
and not a military faction leader,
the Don however found it difficult
to import, legally at least, assault
class vehicles, forcing him to
modify transport class vehicles
secretly if he wished to be able to
have assault vehicles to defend
him. This gave the genuine Light
Assault Vehicles a bit of an
advantage, but still served to level
the playing field quite a bit.
As the
fierce battle raged on, and the
concentration of energy in the air
began to rise from the number of
attacks being launched, the Rogue
stealth team deployed, consisting of
Hyaku, Kenshin, his Ghost and Roun.
The stealth team had a rather simple
job description, that being to sneak
into the facility under the cover of
fire, and disable the facility from
the inside, allowing the Rogues to
only have to deal with personnel
rather than automated defences.
With
Hyaku’s upgrade, his stealth
capabilities seemed to be on par
with or even surpassing the other
two stealth candidates’ previous
abilities, while Roun’s Feratu
form allowed for a considerable
increase in his stealth skills as
well. This allowed the three to
make their way towards the facility
undetected rather easily. Roun’s
shadesmith technique allowed him
to easily breach the already damaged
walls of the facility with minimal
detection, as he headed to the
control room, while Kenshin and
Hyaku relied on more conventional
methods of entry. Once inside,
Hyaku moved off to locate the main
data storage unit in the building
while Kenshin concentrated on
disabling traps and guard units,
while he did his best to locate the
Don, ensuring that he didn’t slip
out through the back.
Back on
the outside, the technology war
seemed to be tipping towards the
Rogues favour forcing the Don to
deploy his actual personnel to aid
in the combat.
“Okay,
go!” Tyler ordered now as the Rogue
forces as their associates bailed
out of their respective vehicles,
flying towards the battle field so
they could commence the real battle.
The
recent upgrades to her form had made
Tyler quite formidable at hand to
hand combat, now allowing her to
follow her Carbon Copies into head
on combat, allowing her and Leonardo
to be those primarily on the front
lines while the other Rogues took up
long and medium ranged support
positions. Ryuu and Cloud also
wasted little time rushing towards
the head of the battle, drawing Sun
Lee with them as well, while the
frame user hung back and picked off
the weakened opponents.
In
total, the strike team registered 11
channelers, including Tyler’s,
Roun’s and Yasmin’s ascended
subordinates, accompanied by 12
metahuman operators of various frame
packs. This 23 person squad was met
head-on by about 35 frame users,
Kenshin having been lucky enough to
encounter and disable five
meta-humans before they were able to
mount frames.
Seeing
themselves as outnumbered, the
Rogues and their teammates capable
of Omega Driving wasted no time in
engaging their abilities to level
the playing field. Tyler utilised
the power of her Shatter Mold to
copy Zadavia’s Dynamo effect, while
she summoned a copy of Hyaku for
back up in the fray, ordering Yasmin
and Zadavia to also provide back up
for her. Cloud and Ryuu worked as a
unit as well, both in overdrive and
doing their best to punch a hole
through the personnel defences of
the facility. Leonardo and Sun Lee
also shared similar overdrives,
focusing on their physical prowess
for damage, only occasionally
utilising powerful destructive waves
to gain them some space to do
battle. This left Paco as one of
the only channelers to really avoid
physical combat, as his various
Cronus waves did their job in
keeping his opponents off of him and
to some extent, his teammates.
Roun was
the first to reach his target, the
control room. Powering his form up
to it’s max output, Roun wasted no
time in shadow walking into the
room, appearing with a swarm of bats
that quickly drenched the room in
darkness, allowing him to utilise
his dual blades to make quick work
of the few controllers to
administrated the Don’s systems.
This made Hyaku’s job infinitely
easier, as once he located the
terminal from which he could access
the information, there was far less
security to keep him out. As Roun
now powered down his shadesmith,
he deactivated the external and
internal defences, allowing Hyaku to
transmit the coordinates of the
access terminal to Paco and Yasmin,
the resident Rogue hackers.
With
this, the Rogue assaults now wasted
no time in dispatching the assault
vehicles that they faced, allowing
the ships to cover Paco, while he
left the battle field and headed for
the inside of the facility.
Luckily, Paco boasted relatively
effective stealth, allowing him to
get by the main struggle unnoticed,
but it wouldn’t be long before the
ranged support team, mostly the
sentinel frames picked up his
movement and began to home in on his
location, riddling him with fire.
This was particularly problematic
for the manipulator, as even though
he was quite capable of generating
the energy to defend himself, he
lacked the control necessary to
shield attacks from so many points
at once. Paco’s health dwindled
quickly as he attempted to
retaliate, joined now by Yasmin who
also needed to leave the battle
field, and Hyaku who was making his
way back to the battle field. This
pincer attack, facilitated mostly by
Hyaku, would prove quite effective
in dispatching a number of the
Sentinels, forcing them to scatter
long enough for the heavily damaged
Paco to make it through, followed by
Yasmin.
Kenshin
on the other hand, had finally found
the Don, who seemed to be making
preparations for an escape,
something that the Rogue ninja
would not have able to let him do.
Vanishing from his location, Kenshin
reappeared with a chop to the back
of the Don’s neck, one that was met
with a rush of ether as the
channeler’s form now powered up to
automatically shield the attack.
“The
hell…” Roun muttered to himself,
sensing the energy spike, before a
blast registered on his scanners,
forcing him to investigate the area.
As Roun
arrived, he saw Kenshin pinned to a
wall with a static blast, forcing
him to charge his Emerald Blaze and
Temporal Shift to his opponent,
knocking the Don into the wall. A
quick wave from Roun’s Polar Wraith
would free Kenshin from the
Lingering attack, but would not
be able to save the Itami from being
blasted away himself. This forced
Roun to fuse with the wall on
impact, vanishing into the shadows
as he now signalled to Tyler that
they would need back up in taking
the Don down.
There
had been rumours of the Don’s
channelling ability, but they had
never been confirmed, leaving it as
quite a surprise that his level was
so high, one that Roun estimated to
be in the region of level 15 or 16.
With
ships to clean up the battle field,
Tyler requested that Sun Lee come
with her, while she moved to
intercept Roun and Kenshin, who’s
new job was to lead the Don into
their assault. Unfortunately, as he
was trying to flee, a simple run and
chase tactic would not work on the
Don, leaving Kenshin and Roun to
actually attempt to push him in the
general direction that they wanted
him to go using their attacks. This
unfortunately meant that they would
need to do battle with the beast,
who seemed rather able to hold his
own against the two and maintain the
upper hand. Kenshin would fall
quickly as a result, forcing Roun
into his Omega Drive. As Roun’s
form changed from black to blinding
white, he coalesced a ball of pure
Aesis, dodging the Don’s static
balls before shifting in and
releasing the attack into the Don’s
chest, blasting him down the
hallway. Amusingly enough, the
attack didn’t do an increable amount
of damage to the extremely
resilience Don, but simply utilised
its high s.p. rating to provide
thrust, which easily overcome the
Don’s weight and pushed him away.
This gave Roun the chance to dash in
and summon a dome of material around
the Don before reinforcing it with
his Aesis.
Roun was
able to hold the structure for
sometime, but with the Don in Omega
Drive now, his hold was quickly
weakened, resulting in him being
blasted away while Tyler and Sun Lee
made their way into the area. As
Roun landed, he rebuilt his Physical
Shielding and transmitted the data
he had collected so far on the Don’s
form to Tyler, who started to
decrypt it. Sun Lee wasted no time
rushing into the fray, easily being
able to land hits on the Don due to
the obvious difference in their
skill levels, but found that the
Don’s superior power output was a
huge factor in the battle as he too
found himself pinned to a wall with
a static discharge before he could
use Dragon’s Explosion to
neutralised the effect.
This
left Tyler to move in now, as her
Hyaku copy phased in, and found
itself dispatched, Tyler’s mental
backlash took hold of her. The Don
smirked as he looked down attempting
to blast her away before he realised
that his Special Technique, the
static blast had been disabled,
allowing with his modifiers and
Permenant Attributes, leaving him
just the Activation techniques that
he had not yet used. Roun grinned
broadly now as Sun Lee dashed past
the Don, executing his Dragon Flash,
before Roun thrusted past the Don
from the other side, locking his
Aesis to energy and dragging it out
of his energy, in an attempt to
absorb it. The Don’s superior
control was enough to prevent the
attack from working in its entirety,
but with no ability to shield
himself, the damage from the attack
served to revert him, allowing Roun
to complete the Energy Drag, before
Kenshin’s Ghost disabled its
stealth.
As Tyler
recovered, the three made their way
back to the battle field, Roun
carrying Kenshin’s form, to see that
the others had cleaned up nicely.
Though they seemed to be missing a
few persons on the battle field. As
it turned out, Paco and Yasmin had
been followed into the facility by a
search and destroy team, resulting
in Paco’s reversion, a fate he
shared with young Leonardo who was
overwhelmed on the battle field.
Nicola and Zadavia had also
retreated to the Terrapin due to
heavy damages, leaving the Rogue
Force quite diminished, preventing
the full execution of their follow
up plans. Given this, this would
call it a day, making plans the
future.
Outcome: The Don's facility has
been disabled and the surviving
personnel has been taken into
custody. The Rogues have
assigned personnel to infiltrate the
Mafia's secure systems in a further
attempt reduce their resources.
However, given their inability to
dispatch all of these facility in a
single attempt, they have been
warned that they are likely to face
heavier resistance. |

Benefits of Proper Recon:
Xelots, To Quell A Rebellion. (10/10/2401) |
|
Deacon
was pleased to see that his entire
team had mobilised to look into the
situation in Korea, all with the
exception of one of his earliest
charges, Seig Stryfe. Nevertheless,
their initiative was refreshing, and
it gave him time to look into other
matters of equal importance to the
interests of the Council.
In
Korea, Jubei and Crydus waited
patiently as they were met with the
thick red tape of the Korean
government’s bueracracy, as they
awaited their chance to interrogate
the prisoners that were being held
on charges or suspicions related to
the recent state of civil war. On
the outside, Jinzo, Bobby, Kenshin
and the operator of Seig’s Ghost
frame took to the field to gather
information. Bobby and Jinzo were
the lynch pins behind the operation,
taking to the field first to gather
information before they could direct
the others to areas where more
sensitive information could be
gathered.
Bobby
and Jinzo entered the city as
tourists, doing their best to draw
little suspicion to themselves as
they tried to gather information on
the rebellion. In this, Jinzo was
quite successful, as his natural
skills made social interactions of
any kind far easier for him than any
of his associates, a reality that
Bobby was becoming extremely aware
of. The gunslinger was
struggling somewhat, coming off a
bit more pestering than anything
else to those he was talking to,
forcing him to cut down on his
interactions and focus more on
observations than anything else.
During this phase, Jinzo gathered
mostly general information on the
social and political atmosphere of
Korea at the time, learning more
about public opinion of the war than
actual useful information when it
came to helping in solving it.
Regardless of that, he and Bobby did
manage to successful assimilate the
pop culture of the city, and quickly
learned what styles of dress were
associated with certain types of
people. After about an hour of
observations, the two switched their
attire, now blending a bit more with
the local population, and
identifying more so with the style
of dress of the rebel faction,
allowing them to blend in the
shadier parts of the cities.
It was
during this phase that Kenshin and
the pilot of the Ghost frame found
themselves most useful, utilising
their stealth to stake out the
shadier establishments in an attempt
to gain information that would be
helpful in their task. Bobby and
Jinzo, as always took a slightly
more hands on approach to the
situation, stealthily abducting
suspected rebel members when they
were drunk and interrogating them in
private. Once again, Jinzo proved
to be better at this task than
Bobby, especially with the female
population of suspected rebels, who
seemed to give up the
information far faster than their
male counterparts when Jinzo applied
his persuasive abilities.
Even
with all the data collected, by both
the field team, and the
interrogation squad (Crydus and
Jubei) one thing was becoming
painfully obvious to them: either
their was little organisation to
this rebellion, an unlikely
explanation; or the high ranking
members of the rebellion army,
didn’t take much pleasure in the
Korean night life. Regardless of
this, they were still able to garner
quite a lot of information, and most
importantly, information on the main
rebel facilities located in the
country. The importance of these
facilities were only later confirmed
when Kenshin and the Ghost operator
found it impossible to infiltrate
these structures without forceful
measures due to the high degree of
zeta reinforcement they possessed,
as well as naturally secure nature
of the building design.
All
information collected was relayed to
Xelot High Command, where it could
be accessed and analysed later, in
preparation for the final strike.
Outcome: The Xelots have
acquired a great deal of
information, this information will
be compiled and displayed in their
faction communications board. |
