Not At All Pleased: Xelots, To Quell A Rebellion Mission. (27/10/2401)

Once again the mission coordinators seemed not to be on the same page, forcing Deacon to take command once again and attempt to merge the two strategies on the spot, a task which he found to be rather frustrating.  As he came to a useable middle ground, he realised that he would need to set more strict guidelines for his knights when it came to mission organisation if he wished to avoid future confusion.  With this done, he now announced the official general strategy, assigning his knights to their correct positions.

In concordance with both plans, the team would be split into three units, lead by Jubei, Crydus and Deacon.  Both Jubei and Crydus would take command of a number of frame operators, and utilise the faction’s vehicles, while Deacon lead the main team into the central facility.

As for the attack times, Bobby seemed to have the best idea, and as such the assault on the main facility was scheduled for one hour after the night club closed, giving Jinzo enough time to devise a way to actually get into the facility without raising the alarm, while the others kept a low profile.  As this would be especially difficult for Deacon, he would be the one hanging back the furthest as not to raise any attention.

As the team now hung back, Jinzo went to work with his persuasion, once again targeting the intoxicated as he attempted to figure a way into the facility.  He was actually remarkably successful given his last actions, which managed to increase the usefulness of his persuasion, and with the alcohol already making his targets more susceptible to mental tampering it was an exceptionally easy task.  As the night continued and the club finally closed, the team waited until all of the patrons and staff went home, allowing the club to close completely before they even made a move.

“Kenshin, now.”  Was all that Deacon said, as he and the team moved towards the rear entrance of the club, powered down.  Kenshin smirked as he decloaked, flipping down from the ceiling of the club and landing, before moving to the rear entrance and opening it from the inside, allowing everyone inside.

Deacon nodded as he passed the Rogue, calling Jinzo to the front to disable the security door.  This instantly set off the facility’s alarm, and signalled the start of the mission.  Summoning Guardian, Deacon moved in behind the summons and Jinzo, who stormed forward in his Dark Messiah form, serving as the team Tank, while Bobby did his best to keep the automated security systems at bay with his Shrieking Winds.  Loki’s Shattered Prism and Raen’s Justice Flame also helped with this task, though they lacked the precision that came with Bobby’s attacks.

On the other fronts, Deacon’s Zeta Wing Mk II was making quick work of the outpost class facility, while Bobby’s F-25 and Jinzo’s F-25 served to make equally quick work of the second facility.  Added to the fact that they were backed up by a number of Detrel MXs, this seemed to be definite overkill with regard to these bases.  In fact, with these vehicles still circling overhead, Crydus and Jubei found their job to be a walk in the park, while they just cleaned up the actual personnel stationed at these facilities.

As the main force made it into the facility, Kenshin stealthed and moved ahead of the conflict, seeking out the actual leader of the army before he could escape.  Unfortunately, given his lack of speed, he knew for  fact that he would simply not be able to keep up with a speedster if he made a break for it.  Kenshin sighed as he moved forward, looking back briefly to see Jinzo’s Dark Messiah form ripping through the frames.  Bobby’s Celestial Judgement would alert the others to the appearance of the channeler squad, signalling Loki to uncap and unleash the full force of his energy.  His reversion blast lived up to his name sake, proving more useful than in previous battles, taking out three of the channelers in one go, while the others now took the time to get into a proper combat formation.  The close quart combat required for the narrow hallway severly restricted Deacon’s usual style of combat, forcing him to utilise his Long Shield for defence, while his summon Retribution moved forward with Jinzo, and Suppression flanked Bobby to provide addition ranged support.

“Okay, I need assistance!!”  Came blaring over the comm. link as Kenshin actually managed to locate the leader of the Rebellion forces, a speedster of sorts from the look of it.  Unfortunately, he proved to be way too slow to keep up with this channeler, who was now ensuring that he was no way near that actual combat zone.

Deacon sighed heavily as he guarded a huge battle axe with his shield, pushing his opponent off and charging his blade with Disca, slashing through his opponent, while Raen’s Justice flame washed over the opponent behind the one he had just dispatched, to secure his advance.

“Bobby, protect the others!”  He commanded now, summoning Griphon and riding him through the facility as he attempted to track the speedster.

Unfortunately, with Deacon gone, this severely lowered the combat ability of the team, forcing Raen to switch to his melee style, while Loki did his best to back up Bobby, who kicked his range support into high gear.

Deacon was now forced to utilise his Glaze Step, and that of Griphon to its full extent, as he attempted to close the distance between him and his target.  With much futility, he placed the call to the Korean military, requesting that they at least contain the area, and increase his chance to catching the speedster.  As he cleared the exit, Griphon blasted into the air, getting a bird’s eye view of his surroundings as he tried to figure out how he would be able to close the distance.

Back in the fray, the team was learning Loki’s usefulness.  With no where to dodge or hide, Loki’s accuracy played a small role, and his ridiculously high output made cleaning up the battle field an easy task.  And with Raen, running melee support and healing, the Xelot forces actually managed to hold their own, though admittedly, somewhat sloppy.

Still chasing their objective, Deacon was actually pleased to see the Korean military forming a wall around the facility with their riot control squad. What saddened him however was when his target sprung over 200 feet into the air as he attempted to evade the security block.

“I grow tired of this!”  He yelled, activating his omega drive and throwing all of the additional energy into his speed stat and activating his Glaze Step to close the distance before he sacrificed his entire energy stat to Griphon and activated its Chilling Breath, completely engulfing his target in ice, before he shifted his stats back to normal and closed the distance.  Throwing all of his energy into his Disca now, he grabbed his opponent by both shoulders, and tore his form in half, before he deactivated his Omega Drive and powered down.  With this, he would call an end to the mission, causing his team to pull back and take out the rest of the forces with their vehicles.  Raen would heal the entire time, before he two powered down to kill his power drain, bringing an end to a very displeasing mission.

Outcome: The Mission is a success and the Korean Rebellion has been quelled, however due to the inefficiency of the operation, Deacon is now contemplating a restructuring of the Xelot mission coordination system and their chain of commander.
