5 Day Vacations, Well Earned: Rogues Crackdown Mission (26/02/2402)

The Saints was a generally quiet 5- star beach-front resort in Lido di Ostia renowned for its beautiful views of the Mediterranean, today it was about to be renowned for the largest organised crime gathering in recent history. The Italian mafia had all but booked out the entire resort to have an all important meeting, to determine the next Capo Supreme for the mafia.

Thanks to the efforts of under cover detective Mario Scappelli and an intensive deception devised by Hyaku and the Rogues, the mafia was confident that its meeting at the luxury resort would go unhindered by law enforcement, particularly the bumbling Rogues, Mario’s claims to be able to divert their attention working so seamlessly it was believed by even non field rogue operatives. Unfortunately for the criminals, at this moment the Rogues were not only prepared to storm their meeting, with a plan worked on by all of the field operatives, but several officers were currently working undercover inside the resort itself.

Hyaku and Roun had disguised themselves as bus boys, using their access to the resorts innards to maneuver themselves closer to the mafia leaders staying in the hotel.  Meanwhile, Paco, Yasmin and Kenshin all went undercover as tourists, pretending to mill around the resort and check out the various attractions for guests while they covertly observed the movements of the mafia members enrolled. Daniel, Aggy, Erika, Nicola, Zadavia and Xenien also milled around inside the Resort undercover. While on the outside Sun Leo played the part of an innocent child while Haezor was the frustrated ward, a part he didn’t have to act too hard to achieve. Rounding out the channelling team was Roderick who played an aloof guest with little interest besides lounging at the pool and staring at Tyler who was opposite him pool side.

Apart from the channelling squad, was the Rogue fleet, being operated by the several frame operators also brought along by the operatives. Two carriers, holding an Arclyte, Maglyte, Omni, 2 x F-25’s, 3 x Zeta Wings and a modified gull were waiting in position waiting to hyper drive into area. While the local PD was standing in place to clear the area around the resort and evacuate guests when the strike was initiated.

With all the preparations in place, there was nothing left to do but wait. Roun nervously checked the time, he was more worried about this mission than the others, with his abilities currently not being at 100% after the recent events in Tanami leaving him fractured. Kenshin began to move into position, following Hyaku the bus boy up to a wing that housed two mafia leaders who were close friends.

With that movement the mission was underway, the various mafia leaders began to leave their rooms to head to the resorts grand conference room, to maintain their anonyminity the mafia leaders were to leave within a few minutes of each other, converging at the conference room at 4 p.m.  The rogues began in sync at 3:55 p.m. attacking as soon as the leaders and their body guards attempted to leave their rooms. Kenshin engaged his stealth getting into position as Hyaku knife handed a mafia leader exiting his room. Scanning the form of the powering up body guard accompanying him, Hyaku quickly summoned energy formatting it to lock the power up sequence of the guard. The two other guards accompanying the mafia leader finished powering up preparing to launch an attack on the rogue officer when they found themselves being sliced from an unseen source. Before they could pick up on their attacker, Hyaku used his CONX to pull the two guards together slamming them into each other while a bloodline blast exploded them apart reverting them on the spot.  Hyaku engaged his own stealth as the other leader and his entourage exited their suite, rushing toward them aided by Kenshin, downstairs, Erika powered up using her psychic abilities to pick up on the location of Hyaku and Kenshin and rushing to their location.

The guards found themselves being struck by inexplicable waves of fear while invisible opponents tore into their forms. The debilitating psychic waves from Hyaku’s subordinate used her T.K. to strip the mafia of their carried weaponry and comms all the while bombarding with out of control emotions which all but prevented from evading the onslaught from Hyaku and Kenshin.

Elsewhere, Roun had his own problems, with a mafia head exiting the room followed by 4 guards surrounding him, Roun powered straight into his Omega drive executing an omega blitz to dash straight through the guards, whirling and tagging each one of them with his aesis energy type, his speed causing the guards to seem to be in suspended animation relative to the blindingly fast channeler. Sliding to a halt on the opposite side of the group, Roun spun to face the guards, snapping his fingers and forcibly ripping the energy from the forms of the mafia channelers and drawing it to his palm, reverting them instantly and stunning them with the shock all five fell into an almost neatly arranged pile.  This drew a small chuckle from Roun but his mirth was cut short as a blast clipped his shoulder spinning him around and forcing him to lose his grasp on his accumulated energy, focusing Roun saw a channeler leaping through the air at him, as Roun cursed not being totally up to speed with his battle proficiency, an energy bolt slammed into the leaping channeler knocking him into the wall and locking his channelling ability.

From downstairs Zadavia grinned at Roun before unleashing more energy arrows at the mafia henchmen who emerged from their rooms with all the commotion. Across the hall Paco had sprung into action as well. Powering into his Omega drive and engaging his Flaming Phoenix Armour, unleashing a Helios ’Might blast at the mafia entourage exiting their rooms in his sector.  Going all out the channeler unleashed the blast at his max energy capacity, attempting to format it to do almost twice what he could control, unfortunately with the attack already unleashed at his full controllable energy, the channeler could no longer control the attack, and the format gave out after the initial damge. Luckily for Stryfe the attack was powerful enough to take down the mafia entourage, who didn’t have time yet to boot all their defensive techs and begin shielding against the attack, a hail of helios might peppering down on them and knocking back through their doors where they slumped in reversion.

By this time the hotel was in pandemonium and those inside were struggling to escape, while the mafia henchmen posted on the outside were attempting to make on the inside to assist their leaders. This however was made into an increasingly difficult task by the fact that the Rogues went through the trouble of jamming all comm. frequencies except one designated for use by the law enforcement groups, in addition the now powered up Roderick was utilising his undermine to disrupt their scanning and psychic communication lines resulting in utter confusion among the mafia.

Attempts to make it back into resort and manually search for the other mafia members were being ground to a halt as the Rogue fleet warped in unleashing the assault craft and the frames who went to work on peppering the external forces, the fleet somewhat handicapped by the fact that it had to use its lower powered weaponry to avoid doing damage to the privately owned resort. The frames moved into their pre-designated positions, choking off access points, keeping those on the outside out and those inside in. While Brad began to utilise his highly destructive techniques, to whittle down the numbers of those outside, with Haezor backing him up, keeping as much damage as possible away from the young channeler.

With his Soul Call fully charged while he waited for the battle to reach the outside, Sun Leo used khaaos to destabilise water into its individual hydrogen and oxygen molecules, with assistance from his environmental mastery, as the mafia used every way to try to escape, some making it to their ships and attempting to flee, only to find the area around them detonated by Sun leo, who then began heading after the henchmen running around wildly on the battlefield. Dodging and weaving between the hail of fire coming from the frames and the entrenched henchmen, Leonardo headed for the unconventional exits such as windows that some had turned to leaping through.  Taking cover under a ledge Leonardo surpressed his spike while Haezor crouched near him. Two henchman came flying through the window, green blasts flying after them. The two were two occupied to even notice the waiting Leonardo and Haezor.  Sun leo unleashed two focussed waves of soul call at them, catching them in a blazing torrent. While Bruiticus leaped into the path of another Mafioso who had come charging around the corner at Leo.

With the hotel now totally engulfed in battle the Rogue plan seemed to be coming off without a hitch, however, despite all their planning they were still outnumbered nearly four to one. This with having to restrain the innocent civilians began taking a toll on the Rogue forces. Luckily for the rogue channelers their initial attacks focused on the leaders and their higher level guards themselves, leaving mopping up to be the order of the brawl that ensued. However, the spill was a large one, even with frames on the outside to even the odds, the rogue channelling team still found itself severly out matched, Roun was the first to go down as expected, with five henchmen taking advantage of a moment of hesitation to the pepper the green haired rogue with blasts as he slid to a stop having cleaved the form of one of their comrades in half.  Erika was the next to go down, her lack of agility made it impossible to evade all attacks when she was ganged up on and rushed from all sides.

The losses continued to pile up, Haezor on the outside found he had blocked one too many attacks to keep leo’s impressive offense going.  His low level being his undoing as he simply didn’t have the output to keep shielding wave after wave of attack and not enough offense to stop the numbers from piling up and eventually overwhelming him. This left Sun leo to rely on his Tactile to detect incoming attackers and even with his a.i. assisting him the share amount of activity on the battlefield was enough of a hindrance to result in Leo falling as well.

By the time the fire died down, the rogue forces found themselves all reverted almost to a man and with substantial damage done to the frames they brought with them into battle. The mafia however found itself on the worse end of the scrap. The confusion caused by the Rogues resulted in almost all of the mafia being incapacitated and incarcerated inside the resort, with a few slipping threw only to be captured in the police cordon a few hundred metres outside the resort, successfully ending the mission.

Outcome: The Mafia’s operations have been shut down with all their leaders having been incarcerated along with the majority of their senior help. The rogues have obtained dossiers on approximately 97% of the mafia forces. They have released this information the Italian Police who have begun an extensive campaign to track and arrest those not already in custody.
