Don’t Shoot the Messenger: Reign delivers a message for Kyasho (01-03-2403)
Having made a stop in Merricent to pick up a Venom suit from his associate’s shop, Reign had finally arrived at the Crystal Forest. Unlike the other channeler’s in the area, such as Fyst and Demetri, who both had quite a number of exploits with the local creatures Reign was determined to avoid any such run ins. The venom suit was particularly useful for this, since it completely contained his ethereal signature to provide steath while he made his way through the environment. Reign added to this by actively utilising stealth on his way through the forest, following the path of destruction that was made by Fyst and Demetri in their last assault on the inhabitants of the forest to get his barings on the position of the lake, while he utilised all of the natural vegetation to prevent anything from spotting him visually, while being smart enough to avoid direct contact with any of the trees or other crystalline structures. All and all, his ability to navigate his way through the forest was rather adept for the usually non-stealthy summoner, allowing him to actually get rather close to the lake itself before the density of organisms began to impede his movements.
Luckily for the summoner, his immense tactical prowess would prove to be quite useful at this point, allowing him to physically manuever through the forest without drawing a great deal of attention to himself as he made his way towards the lake. Reign would be shocked at the ease with which he actually managed to achieve his task, attributing most of his success to the fact that he actually utilised no coded techniques that the mimics could copy and use against him. Once he was within range of the lake, Reign now settled down and concentrated, utilising his Grand Calling and Astral Mastery as he attempted to search for this soul that he was supposed to locate. Instantly, the potency of the soul within the area would become apparent to the young Animator, who was actually physically taken back by the power which he now sensed.
This instantly puzzled the young Titan, who was quite confused as to why he was only now able to sense the Astral entity, as he figured that something so powerful would be a beacon to any Astral Master within the area. But furthermore, he slowly began to understand why this area remained untapped by the Falco Royal family, who had driven Elixer Inc. out of the area during the fusion when they were claiming the American landmass for themselves. Clearly this spirit was a hindrance to any mining project that they would have thought about commencing. Humbly now, Reign began to address the entity.
“I'm an Agent of Kyasho Mirakama, I wish to have an audiance with you.” He stated, at first gaining no acknowledgement from the spirit. Reign paused in confusion, before reiterating his original statement. “I'm an Agent of Kyasho Mirakama, I wish to have an audiance with you...” He sounded again, causing the spiritual presence to stir. Reign would step back instinctually now as the entity focused its attention on him, reaching out and grabbing his astral presence as if trying to discern whether or not it was him that was actually speaking.
“Are such tiny things now capable of speech?” The entity inquired in a somewhat detached tone, causing a now rather distraught Reign infer that it was somewhat crazed. “Was it you, tiny thing, that spoke to me?” It inquired again, causing Reign to mutter a ‘yes’ in response. Only now did it seem to dawn on the entity that it was actually crushing his very soul. “Oh my apologies child... how fragile you are.” It now appeared to chuckle as it released him, an action that resounded throughout the spiritual realm, actually causing Reign’s soul to vibrate uncontrollable, causing him great discomfort.
“Kyasho has sent me here to inquire about your well-being.” Reign explained, causing the entity to pause.
“Kyasho... what a familiar name...” The entity thought to itself now scanning its massive database as it tried to figure out who exactly this Kyasho character was. As it did this, the Zeta in the area seemed to respond, forming the thought processes for the being and causing all the zeta in the area activate, once again causing detriment to Reign’s form.
The effects of this thinking where so powerful that Reign was actually forced to dissipate his Venom Suit and power up his form to maximum, summoning his Purgatory Armour to shield himself from the flows of Zeta that were whipping against his form randomly.
“Ah, Kyasho Mirakama...” The entity spoke now as the resident Zeta in the area was returned to a more latent state. “I believe that we were... friends?” The entity inquired to a now very confused Reign.
“I could only assume so...” Reign replied, slightly puzzled at the entity’s odd state. It seemed almost broken, reminding him greatly of his ancestor Titan, upon which his homeland was built. “So...?” Reign inquired.
“So what?” The entity inquired back, causing him some annoyance.
“So...” He growled. “How are you??” He inquired now, causing the entity to think again, once again activating the Zeta in the area which went to work on Reign’s armour. “This is so ridiculous...” He muttered, as the ambient energy quickly shattered his armour, dealing damage to his form before the entity came to its conclusion.
“I am fine.” It stated, causing Reign further annoyance as he was now forced to wait until he could summon his armour again before he asked his next question. A few minutes would pass before Reign once again summoned his Purgatory Armour, allowing him to continue. “Kyasho would also like to know what you’re current status is.” He stated now, but it seemed as if the spirit had already lost interest in him, forcing him to reiterate his statement once again to gain it’s attention.
“My status you say? Hm... let me check...” It stated again, signalling the wash of Zeta energies over Reign that once again ripped his Purgatory Armour to shreds. “My physical systems are running at their most optimal levels given the current state of the world’s ethereal...” It paused as it attempted to find the word, once again initiating the powerful Zeta rush. “...latency?” It finished.
“Okay fine fine...” Reign replied quickly, not wanting it to search for anymore words as he summoned his Solaris principle and healed his armour. “And has there been any change since the fusion?” He inquired, just eager to get the last bit of information so that he could leave and return the information to Tyler before this entity’s mere thoughts reverted him.
Unfortunately, this would be the most powerful rush of all as the entity now accumulated massive quantities of Zeta as it began to process the question. This in particular would take its toll on Reign, first destroying his armour for the second time before the energy ripped away at his form. Even as he now tried to sink himself into the earth, it was all to no avail as the Zeta laelines seemed to traverse that area as well. The Animator would not be able to do much else but manually shield his target’s thoughts and pray that he survived long enough to deliver the message to Kyasho. The rush of energy would stop when Reign was at critical health, allowing the entity to start talking.
“Ethereal... latency?... has decreased since the advent of the fusion... reducing the output of my systems. Three more like me have been detected and conversations between us have commenced. I have formed my own key, just as they have and my... children?... have fashioned it for me. I have sealed it away, and it is safe.” The entity paused, realising that he simply had too much information to deliver verbally. Reign would watch as the entity coalesced a small device which hovered in the air in front of him, allowing him to hold out his hand before it fell into his hand. “Take this to Kyasho.” Was all the entity would say, causing Reign to nod.
The young summoner would power up his Solaris Principle and heal himself to full before turning to leave the area.
Outcome: Reign has the device which he must take to the Garrison to complete his assignment.
