Investigative Actions: Crydus investigates Nottingham further (10-03-2403)
Crydus’ previous investigations had given him a rather big hunch, allowing the Xelot Emulator to quickly deduce that the attacks were simply not something that was a normal social occurrence. With this in mind now, Crydus made his way to the local law enforcement offices, where he would inquire about the attacks in his efforts to get more details. Unfortunately, the local law enforcement would not be entirely helpful. Much like Crydus, they understood that the anti-channeler sentiment in this area in particular had been rather high, but each time an attack was reported, the descriptions given by the victims simply did not match anyone in the surrounding neighbourhood. For this reason, much like Crydus, the local police departments were starting to believe that this was indeed a small scale act of terrorism, believing that a small organised anti-channeler group was behind the attacks, unfortunately, they simply could not gather any clues that would help them in confirming or debunking this theory.
Luckily, Crydus seemed to have his own idea on how to get to the bottom of things. Requesting the locations of all the attacks, he tried to geometrically and geographically correlate the results and attempt to find a central location where the Xelots could at least begin to search for some kind of base of operations. As Crydus received the data, he would send it to Xelot Administration, ensuring that it would not be lost from him as he left the small police station to continue his research. Once this was done, he made his way out of the small police department and made his way down the street, attempting to crunch the numbers in his Data Pad and come to a useful conclusion.
As he did this, Crydus would get a strange feeling about him, causing the channeler to power up and activate his Sensory Codex to get a better idea of his surroundings. Crydus smirked now, it seemed that he might have been getting luckier than he would have thought. As far as his senses could tell the Xelot, he was being followed by two large framed persons, both of whom seemed to be going to great lengths to remain unseen. Attempting to lure them out now, Crydus made his way into a narrow alley, and sure enough his followers would position themselves in such a way as to block both his previous entrance and his would-be exit, trapping the boss tier channeler.
“Can I help you fellas?” Crydus inquired now, causing the men to grin broadly as they moved toward him.
“Yeah, you got that right... for starters, how about you get out of our country and go back to Oya where you belong freak.” One of the men stated, causing Crydus to laugh lightly.
“Sorry friend, but I’m from Terra, just like you.” Crydus replied as he uncapped his form, watching as the men closed in on him.
“You’re nothing like us, you and your kind are abominations.” The second one reasoned cautiously, watching Crydus as his ethereal scanners registered the channeler’s energy levels rising.
“Enough talk, let’s get this over with.” The first of the two men now stated as he rushed towards Crydus.
Crydus just smirked however as he powered up his Gaieri’s Rune and stomped the floor, causing the man to sink into the ground. Before Crydus could turn however a pure Zeta blast connected with his back, temporarily glitching his abilities as the man behind him closed the distance as well. Crydus found it quite odd that this blaster was attempting to close the distance, but decided it best not to wait around and see why, powering up his Ventuso’s Rune just before his attacker made contact and disappearing from the area while sending a gust of wind in his general direction.
This served to push his opponent backwards, but another beam of zeta energy would knock Crydus out of the morph, causing him to glitch further. This would give the large of the two men time to grab onto the Emulator and throw him against the wall before delivering a powerful punch to his stomach. Crydus coughed loudly as his form registered the pain from the attack, before another fist was driven into his stomach. As the third punch connected now, his attacker’s hand met solid rock as Crydus activated Gaieri’s Rune once more, giving him just enough time to land two quick chops to his opponent’s neck to break the grip before pressing his feet into the large user’s abdomen and launching him off with a strong kick. Crydus’ Primus Mantle would absorb the damage from another zeta beam and shatter before Crydus summoned his Primus Guardian from beneath his ranged attacker, knocking the user into the air with a firey tackle.
This would give Crydus enough time to arm himself with his Cannon Staff and turn his attention back towards the large user that he had just kicked into a wall. Two quick blasts from his Cannon staff, imbued with Spazi’s abilities would be enough to stun his attacker before Crydus dashed up to him and delivered a powerful blow to the large man’s head, using Chonaika’s Rune’s slowing effects to allow him to build more energy before the swing connected. Unfortunately, the attack would not launch his opponent as Crydus thought it would, only causing the man to stumble for a few steps before he turned to Crydus with an enraged look and charged. Crydus would dodge his first attack, and morph into Ventuso’s element to dodge the second punch but he would eventually be caught by a straight kick that would send him flying. As he rushed to follow up however, the sounds of incoming yells would catch his attention. The large power user would turn his attention to his ally now, who was falling quickly from the sky as Crydus unsummoned his Primus Guardian and allows him to plummet, forcing his partner to catch him.
As the larger of the two rushed in to save the other, Crydus’ Omega Drive would flash to life, allowing him to unleash his Omega Blitz through his Primus Cannon. The attack would be just enough to incapacitate both users. Crydus would then contact Xelot Administration and let them know that he had suspects that would possible aid them in their investigations.
Outcome: Using the information collected on the locations of the attacks on civilian channelers and the information gained from interrogating the two users captured by Crydus, Xelot Administration has managed to locate the possible base of operations for the power-user menace in Nottingham.
