Time to Talk: Nicholas tried to talk to the Gargoyle (13-03-2403)

With his previous reversion as a lesson, Nicholas now had a few more questions in mind, the most important of them being how on earth the creature was able to Omega Shield his Omega Blitz.  Unfortunately for the Scion, he had to actually find the creature first.  With this in mind, Reckless set up his M-Gather array, this time attuning it to only attach to the Gargoyle and specifically to avoid the Coldrakes that seemed to take a particular interest in him.

With this strategy, Nicholas would sit in his small summoned camp and wait it out.  His wait would be quite a long one however as the Gargoyle simply did not traverse that area for quite some time.  Infact Nicholas would spend so much time waiting that he would already be below half his maximum stamina when he finally picked up the trail of the Gargoyle.  Nicholas would waste no time making his way to the entity, teleporting to its location in a semi capped state.  Instantly the entity turned its attentions to him and powered up its odd phasic ability causing Nicholas to step back.

“Hold on there buddy!”  He started.  “I don’t want to attack you again... we both know how that went last time.”  He continued, drawing a slightly amused look from the generally featureless entity as it continued to move in on him.  “Look, I’m just here to let you know that the Rogue Special Forces have heard of your existence and their Captain, Tyler Cage wants to scan you.”  Nicholas explained, causing the creature to look rather puzzled before it lunged forwards and launched an attack with its claws.

Nicholas would teleport out of its melee range before once again trying to reason with it.  “Relax man, I really don’t plan on attacking you again, so just calm down.”  Nicholas sounded as he held up his hands to show that they were empty.  “So what do you say were talk this out?”  He inquired now, causing the entity to emit a sigh.  Instantly Nicholas looked quite puzzled at how the entity could actually sigh without any form of a mouth.  “Okay.  That is weird.”

“What’ s weird?”  The creature inquired now in a distorted voice.

“Okay, I take it back... that is weird.”  Nicholas sounded again, causing the creature to growl with annoyance.

“If you don’t start making sense immediately, we will go back to combat... I think I prefer it.”  The entity remarked.  “You appear more confident at that than conversation.”

“Hey man, don’t start on me... you’re the thing that talks without a mouth...”  Nicholas retorted.

“I am not a thing!”  The Gargoyle exclaimed, causing Nicholas to quickly retract his statement.

“Relax relax... truth is I don’t know what you are... no one does, that’s why Tyler Cage wants to scan you.”  Nicholas explained.

“Like some kind of lab animal?”  The Gargoyle inquired, causing Nicholas to seem slightly uncomfortable.

“No... not like an animal...”  He started, not really knowing what else to say.  “Like a...”  He paused momentarily.  “...you know, honestly, she probably doesn’t know that you’re not an animal... I sure didn’t.”  Nicholas explained seriously causing the Gargoyle to sigh again.

“You’re annoying me again...”  The creature reasoned before issuing Nicholas with a compromise.  “If this Tyler Cage character is so curious about me, have her come to see me because I will not be going to her.  If she’s as curious as she sounds, I don’t see why she would have sent you instead of coming for me herself.”  The entity explained, Nicholas just sighed.  Obviously he could not pass his test if he made Tyler come to do the task which she had assigned him to do.

“You know what, don’t go anywhere, I’ll be back to reason with you again soon.”  Nicholas replied, causing the creature to once again look puzzled.

“I don’t know how you’ve lived this long...”  It stated.  “I have things to do, I will not be waiting around for you.”

“Fine, then I’ll follow you until you change your mind.”  Nicholas retorted.

“Very well, I’m sure I can find a pit to drop you in somewhere around here.”  The creature replied, causing Nicholas to sigh, clearly this was going to be a long test.

Outcome: Nicholas is now moving with the Gargoyle but he will need to provide a better reason for it to leave Frostmore and travel to Merricent.
