Ambitious Plans: Xelots and Rogues attempt to shut down Three User Enhancement Facilities (25-03-2403)
Deacon was rather impressed that his Field Team wanted to attempt to take all three user enhancement facilities at the same time, but the fact that they had employed the assistance of the Rogue Special Forces actually seemed to make the entire thing slightly more feasible. The fact that the Rogues arrived with six All Terrain Turrets, a mass of subordinates and a medium assault put Deacon further at ease and when Jubei voiced his plans to utilise all 40 of the Xelot’s Droideka Units, and Johnny announced that his associate Davius Dark would be joining them as well, Deacon had started to believe that just maybe the Xelots were beginning to subscribe to the Rogue mentality of overkill or no kill.
Regardless of his personal views however, the Exalted Knight Commander signed off on the mission, coordinated the final three teams and set off on their mission to deal with what they saw as corruption within France. Each team would arrive in a different location within England, with Deacon, Nikolai, his subordinate Karl and Paco’s subordinate Tyra, piloting her PHR-G Exo Frame, leading a team of 14 Drodeikas and 2 All Terrain Turrets against the facility in Nottingham. Jubei, Reign, Johnny, Davius and Crydus would head the assault on Cotswold, commanding 3 channeler subordinates, 13 Droideka units and 2 ATTs in the assault against that facility, while Paco, Yasmin, Bobby and Raen would command the remaining troops in the assault in the facility on the Isle of Man.
Each team would follow a relatively similar strategy, consisting of two main phases, the first being an information phase and the second being the actual strike phase. During the Infiltration phase, the members of the infiltration teams would be equipped with the upgraded versions of Paco’s Venom Suits and would attempt to actually make their way into the facilities.
In Nottingham, Deacon would rearrange his infiltration team slightly, actually sending Nikolai and Tyra into the building, while he and Karl stayed back and prepared to storm the facility with the strike team in the event that they were actually detected. Luckily, with Nikolai’s naturally good luck guiding him and Tyra through the facility they would be fortunate enough to make it into the facility without attracting too much attention, slipping in amidst the influx of staff members before they attempted to make their way around the facility. This would be a task in of itself however, even with the stealth capabilities of the Venom Suits as they found it nigh impossible to actually move around the facilities, through all of the automated doors and other forms of portals without attracting attention via the opening and closing of doors without anyone being present. This forces the two channeler to resign themselves to simple enumeration of potential resistance so that they could at least relay useful information to the strike team.
In Cotswold, there would be a slightly larger infiltration team, consisting of Jubei, Reign, Johnny and Davius who opted to move in without the use of a venom suit, preferring to rely more on his own stealth than a foreign device which he had not tested. This team however had a far less detailed plan on how to actually get into the facility, simply moving forward under the cover of the Venom Suits. Luckily for this team, Davius’ Resonance Negation allowing him to quickly map the layout of the facility within his rather large area of influence, allowing them to more adequately locate viable entrances, specifically a waste disposal shoot near the rear of the facility. Unfortunately for this team however, Davius’ natural stealth, though it made it impossible to actually pin point his form without intensive scanning, seemed to at least alert the security team which manned the facility’s military class scanning systems that there was someone out there, setting the actual security forces on high alert as they began to seek out the Xelot infiltrators. Even with this however, Davius’ abilities to delay the rate at which scanners picked up information, and his ability to actually trick scanners made finding the team nigh impossible before they would be able to make their way into the facility, where Davius would further be able to map it’s layout while using his Environmental Fuse and Environmental Mastery to send the external security team on such a long and drawn out wild goose chase that they could only concur that their scanning equipment was simply out of whack that day.
On the Isle of Man, the Rogue led team would have infinitely more trouble. Unlike Deacon’s team, who actually had an infiltration plan, or Jubei’s team in which Dark proved to be a huge help, the team of Paco, Yasmin and Raen was not one which was best cut out for infiltration. This left the three to really just wonder around the facility and observe the movements of its inhabitants while searching for some opening which would actually get them into the facility. This took some time however before they could actually make it inside, when they would find themselves faced with a similar problem to that experienced by Nikolai and Tyra in which they were simply restricted from moving around and gaining enough information for their infiltration attempts to actually prove useful.
As the day dragged on, each team would make it out of the facility safely and relate the information to the strike team present, with Team two, thanks to Davius, actually having the greatest amount of data and as such the best battle plan for their strike later that day. Once this was done, they would assemble the teams and actually prepare to mount the offensive.
Once again, in Nottingham, Deacon had been sensible enough to keep the Droidekas and ATTs in his Rhyno as not to draw attention to them before they were ready to make the strike, however this was not the case for the teams in Cotswold and the Isle of Man. This served to jeopardise their surprise attack considerably, as the odd shifts in civilian movements around these two facilities as a result of the two strike teams utilising nearby buildings as cover served to tip the user enhancement facilities enough to put them a high alert. Luckily for Team 2, Davius’ stealth capabilities and sensor jamming allowed them to once again make their way into the facility, which proved to be an impossibility for team three, forcing the Rogue lead squadron to launch their offensive from the outside.
Back with Team 1, Nikolai and Tyra would lead Deacon and Karl into the facility through an alternate entrance which they had located once they were inside, actually being able to make it into their target facility under the cover of darkness without alerting anyone to their presence. Once inside, the team would power up and make their way into the facility. Nikolai and Tyra would be sent to seek out the generator room where they could shut down the automated defences, while Deacon and Karl sought out the internal security forces so that they could dispatch them before a proper offensive could be coordinated. In both cases, the teams would be able to make their way towards their destinations without the alarm being sounded, with Nikolai and Deacon using their Dark Blade and Holy Blade respectively to dispatch the enhanced user guards before they could alert the others. This allowed their plan to come off rather smoothly as Nikolai utilised his Anti-Infinity Gauge to cause the facility’s generator to malfunction, forcing him to grab Tyra and flee via the Astral Realm as it exploded, taking out a massive chunk of the facility with it. This would disable all of the automatic doors, and more importantly the internal scanning, allowing Deacon and Karl to power up to full and make their way hastily to the security room, before they both activated their Omega Drives and rushed their targets who were still in the process of mobilising. Deacon and Karl, no Bruiser, would manage to dispatch three of the power users within just seconds of their arrival due primarily to the confusion and the quick way in which their particular forms dealt damage, but they would soon find themselves seriously outnumbered as their power user opponents began to seriously retaliate against them, forcing them both to pull back onto the defensive and wait as Nikolai arrived fully powered up and Tyra entered in her mass Exo-frame to lay down suppression fire.
While they kept the internal forces occupied, or at least engaged, the external security forces found themselves overrun by Droidekas and the two ATTs, both of which fired with the power of military installation turrets, quickly tearing into the now unshielded facility, doing their best to avoid the four channelers on the inside battling.
With Team 2, Davius’ unique abilities would prove to be quite useful, but much in the opposite way from how one would expect. Due to the facility being on high alert, Davius found it impossible to stealthily make his way back into the facility with Jubei, Reign and Johnny, so he instead resorted to misdirection, tripping security systems and setting off false alarms as he used his Resonance Negation to jam their intensive scans while he led them back through the waste disposal shoot and into the facility where they would make their way towards the generator room. Davius would use his Zanryuken to disable guards silently as they made their way towards the generator room. Unfortunately, they would be forced to actual engage a large squad of power users before they could enter that room. This forced Jubei, Johnny and Reign to drop their own stealths as they powered up their forms to max. Jubei and Reign would instantly go about enforcing their draining abilities on the battlefield and taking the front lines while Johnny powered up a fully charged Genocide blast before letting it rip through the crowd of advancing power use guards. The Oyan born channelers would not be entirely bothered as the walls were smeared with blood from Johnny’s attack before three melee users rushed through the red mist to tackle Jubei and Reign, whilst the ranged power users stayed back and counted Johnny with their projectiles. None would see as Davius slipped by however and allowing the Cleric to expand his Shadow Stream through the generator room to disable it, and signal for the Strike Team to make their advance, while Davius turned to lend his assistance to the other members of the infiltration team so that they could dispatch their current resistance. Reign would waste no time popping one of his E.S.Pills to boost his energy reserves, summoning his Bane Golem twice and compounding it into a single super summon as he utilised his energy to inflicted massive draining on his opponents. His Bane Golem would then quickly go to work shunting unfortunate power users to the Astral Realm while he and the others dispatched the rest.
On the outside, Crydus would mount his own offensive, utilising Tabula Rasa, which had been switched in especially for this mission, along with his Avatar Shells, to flood the battlefield with a number of elemental summons, each reinforced and stabilised with Geon. His subordinates would be guarded amongst this small army, which was then backed up by the Droidekas, ATTs, the F-25 which Jubei had requested, Johnny’s Zeta Wing and the Pheonix, to put a huge amount of pressure on the severely undermanned external defences.
Team 3 would have it the most difficult as their infiltration team would be weeded out before they could make it back into the facility, being discovered by the external patrol troops despite the stealth capabilities of the Venom Suits. This forced the infiltration team, consisting of Paco, Yasmin and young Raen to quickly drop the stealth act and expand their powers before the strike team could be signalled. As expected, Paco would exploded with a cornucopia of flames, while Raen’s Levin zipped through the battlefield to dispatch their enemies. This would also provide some shielding from the massive influx of projectile fire which they drew as Yasmin morphed into her Blui dragon form and took to the sky before turning and raining down her Dragon Breath onto the security forces of the facility. This would be all that Bobby needed to see before he and his Army of One came rushing in, leading the charge of channeler subordinates, Droidekas, ATTs and Paco’s Kurudo which descended upon the external defences of the user enhancement facility now. This team would suffer the most loses due to their direct combat, falling victim to the actual automated defences of the military class facility, which had been masquerading as a simple commercial installation. Despite the heavy resistance however, this structure had simply not been designed to deal with such a large strike force, and slowly found itself being overwhelmed by the sheer brute force of the attack. Between the sheer firepower of the Xelot-Rogue combination, combined with Paco’s radial flame attacks, Yasmin’s dragon breath, Raen’s abilities which seemed to increase as more of his allies entered the fray and Bobby’s unique army of artillery, even the power user guards would find their healths being whittled down, slowly but surely.
Back with team one, the ATTs and Deacon’s Rhyno did the most work in dispatching the external defences and dismantling the facility, leaving the actual channelers and the Droideka’s more to deal with the personnel that attempted to flee at this point rather than anything else. This proved to be quite a task due to the lack of speed based channelers in the team, but they would do good enough, being able to apprehend a few members of the security team while the remains were dispatched or while a few of them fled.
Team two would have a less comprehensive victory, but would still manage to pull it off with Reign’s healing abilities being put to the test to keep the infiltration team alive before Crydus and the strike team could actually make their way past the external defences and into the facility to draw some of the attention away from original infiltrators and onto the fresher members of the strike team. Luckily, with the facility’s generator destroyed, the actual destruction of the facility came swiftly as the mass of vehicles and ATTs went to work on the unreinforced structure before they turned their wrath on the ground troops that targeted them with ground to air projectile weapons like Nakitas and Whistlers.
Team three would have the hardest type as they were actually forced to deal with a fully ethereally reinforced structure and a coordinated security team, which actually did a rather good job in repelling their attacks. In fact, had it not been for the level of overkill which they had been planning on actually bringing, this team in particular might have actually failed in their assault. Despite their sheer numbers and overwhelming force however, this team was forced to focus primarily on dispatching enemies rather than capturing them. Much like Reign, Raen’s healing abilities would also be put to the test as he did his best to keep the frail Paco Stryfe alive while he dealt his huge damage, a task that he would eventually fail at as fell near the end of the battle. At first, his reversion seemed to be the first real victory for the power user security forces, but with Yasmin quickly morphing into her own version of Paco’s form to take his place, the power users found themselves back to square one. Paco’s seeming resurrection and Bobby’s apparently inability to die, along with the massive superiority of the Xelot-Rogue armoury would serve to demoralise their opponents and aid in their victory, which would come late in the night for the final team.
Once their victories were secure, the teams would make the final sweeps of the facilities to round up the survivors for interrogation before returning to Odessa to be debriefed.
Outcome: The Xelot-Rogue alliance have shut down 3 or the 4 unregistered user enhancement projects which they have discovered, and have retrieved prisoners from Nottingham and Cotswold which are currently being question. No prisoners were captured from the Isle of Man facility. Both the Xelot and Rogue resources have suffered heavy damages and losses.
