Doing What’s Necessary: Serai interrogates Prisoners

Once again, Serai’s methods of interrogation drew great levels of disdain from the Rogue’s administrative staff, who were forced to oblige the young Operative by setting up the Rogue training room according to his specifications.  Once he arrived, Roun and his team would make their way off in an attempt to assist the Research and Development team in decrypting the data which he had boosted from their targets’ mainframe, while Serai and his small team made their way to the training room to mount their prisoners in the simulation before they woke up.

The simulation itself would be rather realistic, but it would be the ethereal suppression which prevented their prisoners from powering up and Jada’s psychic abilities which they were now as a result unable to counter, which increased the effectiveness of the entire thing.

As the prisoners came through, they would find themselves suspended from a gull, dangling just metres above the lava from a volcano.  Instantly their minds would rush to make sense of the whole thing, but Jada would quickly counter this, warping their thought processes to her whim, feeding their initial fear and irrational thoughts while she convinced them that the entire ordeal was as real as it possibly could be.  Now in user form, their minds could do little to resist her psychic mastery as she twisted their minds, while her persuasion passively convinced them to be as cooperative as possible, allowing Serai to begin his interrogation.

Even with Jada’s abilities, initially their prisoners would still be rather uncooperative, managing to resist the urge to cooperate with the Rogues for quite some time until they began to perceive the heat rising off of the lava as is neared their bodies.  Slowly they would begin to talk, outlining their role in the kidnapping of the scientist, Dr. Mirakama, but Serai would need more information than that if he was going to be able to find the next piece of this puzzle.  It was time to get serious.  Given the Rogues’ policy on torture, the simulation was not actually designed to be able to damage the user forms of their capatives, but with Jada’s firm grip on the minds of all present, this would not be an issue.   Serai would allow one of the men’s hands to dangle too low, dipping into the lava and being “dissolved away”, an illusion that Jada made seem exceptionally real.  This would push them over the edge, and force them to quickly divulge all of the information which they personally possessed.

Serai would smile now as the information came flowing forth, marking the success of their mission.

Outcome: The two mercenaries have stated that Dr. Mirakama was only housed with their mercenary group for two weeks after his capture where they were in charge of his torture and the psychic extraction of the information from his project.  This was only a partial success and the information is stored in their database.  After this time, he was picked up by their employers and transported to another facility in Western Europe prior to the fusion.  At first it was assumed that the doctor and their benefactors perished in the catastrophe that destroyed most of Western Europe, however, the mercenary group was contacted months after the fusion and commissioned to acquire a number of other technological devices which their benefactors could not attain without drawing suspicion to themselves.  All of these items were transported to a company in Morocco which then shipped the items to their employers.  This information, that gained from Morocco and the data retrieved from the mercenary mainframe have allowed the Rogues to formulate a number of possible locations where Dr. Mirakama and his assistant are being held captive.
