Feminine Wiles: Thales attempts Demai entrance exam (30/07/2403)

Thales preparation for her con-job was nothing less than top notch as she went to great effort to ensure that everything that she had done appeared to be legit, and on top of that, she ensured that should things truly go sour that all of her bases would be well covered.  With this done, she would contact he target, a brilliant scientist of Terran.  Her task was to locate and secure information on and if possible a prototype of her target’s latest project, a mysterious other-worldly weapon.  Thales would spend quite a bit of the morning on the phone attempting to secure a meeting with her target, but fail miserably at enticing the researched with all of her fake money, something that annoyed the young kitsune greatly.  Luckily, she would finally get his assistant to ‘bite’ at the offer.

As she was informed, her target was nothing short of a stiff, not the kind of man that Thales preferred to deal with when she was trying to extract information from people, but luckily, his personal assistant was one that was far more easily ‘influenced’.  Thales would use this to her advantage as she began to spin her tales, explaining to the young man that she was a particularly influential business woman, with interests in sponsoring developing projects that she foresaw as being rather profitable in the future.  She would be able to not only provide sponsorship, but also reduce costs by using her links to provide equipment, deliveries and other resources necessary for the completion of the project at a reduced rate.  Usually, these grandiose claims would draw some sketicism from her target, but Thales had three things going for her.  The first were he obviously appealing looks, the second was her seemingly inexhaustible bank roll and the third, which was the most important was her naturally persuasive nature.  These had bought her enough credibility to secure a meeting with the young assistant later that night where they would be able to discuss business in a more private environment.

Later that night, Thales would pull out all the stops, arriving in the most revealing dress that she could find which would be allowed in a five star restaurant.  This was something that did not go unnoticed by her business associate, a fact that Thales was rather pleased by as it allowed her to play to her strengths far more than she had originally planned.  The dinner would be a rather lengthily one as Thales managed to balance business talk, as she focussed on her assigned task, with a bit of ego stroking and of course sexual innuendo to keep her dinner companion hopeful that there might be a bit more to the meeting than simply business.

In her business dealings, Thales would do her best to weasel to project information out of the young assistant, but she would soon realise that she would only be able to get the bare bones of the details from him as he was smart enough to not part with too much information without some kind of a payout, financial or otherwise.  Thales would move on to bribing the young man, but she would not offer enough to really whet his appetite, only managing to get a few specific details on the project itself.  Thales smiled, it seemed that she would have to resort to her final plan.  She would allow the dinner to draw itself enough, before escorting the man to his car, an action that seemed to confirm in his mind that things were going where he wanted them to.  Unfortunately, he would be sadly mistaken.  Thales briefcase would fold out to reveal two beam pistols, which had been masked by the unique structure of the device.  Two shots from the beam pistol would be enough to put the meta-human assistant down while Thales rushed in and made short work of him, before taking everything that he had on him and fleeing to her Gull.  She would not manage to secure the prototype of the device, but the files which her secondary target had brought as bargaining chips were more than enough to give her new employers to idea of what the good doctor was working on.

Outcome: By the time the authorities arrived to check on Dr. Giovenne’s assistant, Thales was long gone with the information.  Her task is complete, and she will receive membership as a Demai Operative on returning the information to Tel Aviv.
