Redefining Interrogation: Jubei Interrogates Xelot Prisoners
It had been some time since the terrorists captured in the last joint Xelot-Rogue venture had seen daylight, but the time had come for Jubei to get some information out of the men pertaining to the Army of Knight’s upcoming activities. For his interrogation, Jubei would be extremely specific, setting up the room to make it as comfortable for himself and uncomfortable for the target of his interrogation as possible. As the man was led into the room he would be sat on a particularly uncomfortable chair and strapped in place as the environmental regulators for the room kicked up the heat. Jubei’s chair on the other hand was rather comfortable, and his modified environmental regulator seemed to deal with the heat just fine. Jubei would sit and allow his target to begin to sweat a bit before he began his interrogation and allowed his righteous fury to fully manifest.
As his superior watched on, the Exalted Knight Commander would begin to question Jubei’s competence in his task, watching as he ranted and raved, spewing accusations and threatening the man with the harshest of penalties if he didn’t cooperate. This only served to make his target less cooperative, forcing Jubei to storm out of the room. On the outside however the Beseti born channeler would dawn a smirk now, summoning Kuro Tenshi and moving back into the room. Now it would be time for the good cop, bad cop routine. Jubei would continue on his ranting now, but focusing his questions to more specifically acquire information on the grand anti-channeler power user agenda. While he did this, his binding summon would take the softer approach, actually defending his target while subtly trying to coax him into being cooperative. This in itself was a solid plan, even if it was somewhat cliché, but Kuro Tenshi’s particular abilities to passively extract information from only the barely willing made his plan even more brilliant.
While the constant back and forth only seemed to confuse the man and keep him on his toes, Kuro Tenshi went to work safely acquiring the necessary information from him. Jubei would learn that the ‘power-user movement’ was a global initiative, and even though the level of organisation seemed to vary between different cells, the entire operation seemed to be led by a single body if not a single individual. Oddly enough, even as a dedicated member of the movement, this ‘foot soldier’ was oblivious of who was actually pulling the strings. The man would go on to state that the movement seemed to start on a small scale, but it involved some of the largest players in the game, from financial giants to those with extreme political power. Jubei’s eyes would widen as he assured him that even English and French politicians were members of the movement, but once again, the man would not know enough to allow Jubei to identify any specific individuals, much to Jubei’s frustrations.
Jubei would be informed of a planned anti-channeler attack on a city that rested on the anti-haiman lines, one which they hoped would provide a big enough disturbance to allow the Haima-sa to overrun the city that they targeted. Needless to say, Jubei was appalled by such a reckless plan, but his detainee would assure him with a smile, that they were sure that assistance would arrive in time prevent the Haiman scourge from spreading too far south.
Once again Jubei would press for more information, but his target would simply not know any more. Finally, Jubei would seek out information on the final facility that the Xelots had not yet taken down. He would learn that this particular facility was not actually related to the power user movement, but was simply a project, started by a French revolutionary by the name of Teknov. The goal of this project was actually to artificially imbue non-channelers with channelling capacity, not to create conventional power users. The man would also detail a secondary project run by France, which sought to incorporate the anti-Haiman weaponary developed by Teknov, into user combatants, allowing them to be placed on the front-lines as well.
The name Teknov would grate on Jubei’s nerves considerably but he would be forced to admit that despite the man’s methods, his intention were good. This would leave the young Emulator rather conflicted about the final facility until the methods of the upgrades were detailed. The process was enough to make the Oyan born Beseti warrior feel uneasy, and with Teknov’s unique drafting of soldiers, the Xelot Army could simply not allow unwilling channelers and non-channelers alike to be a part of Teknov’s experiments, regardless of his intentions. Jubei would leave the room and report all that he had learned for the council, before awaiting his next orders.
Outcome: The Field team had received to green light to go after the final facility, but they have been warned to avoid damage to or destruction of the technology contained within. The Council is willing to work with the English and French governments to develope the technology via means that are not harmful to the innocent and to ends that do not harm those who willing volunteer to undergo the procedures.
