Team Tactics: Roun and squad attempt Infestation Quest (25/07/2403)
Roun had to admit that he had minimal interest in the reward for the infestation quest, having only undertaken the task as a way of ending his subordinates’ unplanned vacation which they enjoyed during his team off. Along, his subordinates barely made up the minimum requirements for the task, so with this in mind, Roun would allow them to take point while he simply lended support to his team as they attempted to solve the problem. For this task, Nicola and Haezar would take point, while Daito and Aeriul moved in behind them, leaving Raena to lend ranged support and protect the team. Roun would utilise his abilities to imbue each of his subordinates with enhanced statistics, Code Breaking their forms with his Imperial Break and summoning additional protective shielding for them with his Infinity Construct, before he activated his Infinity Mirage and fell back.
Once cleared, the team would enter the area and begin the hunt for the small pests. Nicola would take point, utilising her powerful intrusive scanners, while Haezar remained on guard, preparing to shield any sudden attacks. Daito would move as stealthily as possible using his Crowd control, while Aeriul stayed close to Haezar to benefit from his shielding abilities. It would not take long before they located a small group of their targets. Nicola would send Haezar forward fist to get in the way of any plasma jets that came their way, while she took up a ranged position to begin their offense. A powerful gravity crush would pin about three of the critters before the others started to scamper away and seek more secured positions. This would allow Daito to open fire with his Peizo Pistol, while Raena’s powerful Veranos enhanced vines began thrashing on their opponents. While they did this, Aeriul would waste no time circling the area, watching as the powerful Plasma Jets impacted Haezar’s Dynamic Guard and began to wear the massive channeler down. Luckily for Haezar his form was designed to deal with not just damage, but specifically thermal and electrical energies, allowing him to redirect the energy towards boosting the size and potency of his form and his defensive abilities Unfortunately for the group, their attacks attracted a number of other Krickau to their location, drawing even more hostility, forcing Nicola and Daito to retreat to the sanctity of Haezar’s defensive field while Aeriul got into position. Within seconds, the signal would be given And Aeriul would spring her trap, lauching an Absolute Flow enhanced kick to her target. The small rodent would hurl through their air towards another group of plasma spewing pests, before a Genesis Broken Graviton Wave detonated it, doing massive damage to the creatures around it. Daito would waste no time vanishing now, warping into the confusion to take his Peizo Blade to the creatures while Raena took his place within Haezar’s barrier to amplify it’s output, allowing her Forest Dragoon, Kusanagi, to aid Daito and Aeriul in their close ranged offensive.
This plan worked initially, but eventually, the sheer numbers would begin to overwhelm the small team. Aeriul would be the first to be blasted out of the fray on a jet of plasma, forcing Roun to actually intervene and save her from the blast, Silhouette Sliding in and taking her away. Raena would then quickly warp her Forest Dragoon out of the fray to avoid it being reverted, before she focussed her attentions on Daito. The young speedsters was doing well with his weapons, utilising his speed to stay ahead of the flames while he slashed at his opponents and utilised his augmented telekinesis from his gauntlet to push them away and slam them. Unfortunately, even for the Rogue speedster, dodging all of their attacks would be impossible. The blue haired channeler would be caught on three plasma jets simultaneously before Raena could use Kararimi to warp him out of the fray and into Haezar’s defensive field. With all of them close enough together now, Nicola would concentrate her Dimensional manipulation abilities and warp them all out of the area, buying them some time for Raena to begin healing up the team. At this point, Roun would return Aeriul to her teammates to receive Raena’s healing as well, looking at the small group with an arrogant smirk, allowing his amusement to show. Nicola would growl lightly now as Roun vanished, forcing Haezar to dash forward and take yet another impact from plasma streams. By now the hulking channeler was approaching his maximum size from the sheer energy absorption and his Mighty Shell had increased his defensive capacity to as high as his control would allow him. With this in mind now, Haezar would Storm off in the direction of their assailants, literally running through the plasma streams as he rampaged with his sword-club. Daito would too impressed with this to leave his teammate alone, warping to provide backup while Nicola, Aeriul and Raena coordinated an actual strategy. With his already high speed having been augmented by Roun’s buff, Daito was able to keep himself alive long enough to lend a real hand to Haezar who dealt the most damage out of the two. While they did this, Raena would use her environmental manipulation to herd the other Krickau to that area, a task which her Forest Dragoon and Aeriul assisted in. While they did this, Nicola would charge to her Exceeded Limit and activate both of her special abilities simultaneously, as he took up an aerial position.
Roun would smirk as he watched the plan come together, watching as Haezar and Daito were literally overrun by Krickau before Raena warped them out of the area, and allowed Nicola to Omega Blitz the entire area below. However, instead of wasting her energy with a single massive blast, Nicola would simply allow the energy to pour out of her for an extended period of time, maximising its effectiveness. Her initial attack would take out enough of the creatures to cause their exploding plasma waves to detonate the others, creating a cascading reaction outwards. Unforunately, after the initial wave had been dispatched, those surrounding them would have enough time to concentrated the exploding wave back towards its focal point. This would minimise the collateral damage, and allow them to turntheir aggression towards Nicola in the air, blasting her right out of her aerial perch before she was forced to warp away once again.
Aeriul would rush through the group now, utilising her Torrent Strike to stun as many creatures as possible, while Daito followed up with his sword strikes, but they too would be forced to retreat via warping as the plasma jets simply overwhelmed them as well. It would not take long for the team to realise that they were simply not equipped to deal with the Krickau directly, and would require a less offensive strategy to take care of the problem. As they came to this realisation, Aeriul would relay it to Roun causing him to call an end to the training exercise.
Outcome: The Krickau numbers in the area have been reduced, but they have become more aggressive, and the team has failed to locate the Matriarch of the nest.
