Unravelling History: Cloud continues to climb Genbu (17/08/2403)

From the information which he received from the Fort David and Valhallard, Cloud was left to deduce that most of the symbols seemed to be mostly for instructional purposes, providing a basic instruction manual of sort for those that would have lived on pandora to ensure that they not cause Genbu to malfunction in anyway.  Isis in particular found this odd, as even though the translations were only partial, they seemed to be written in a way that a parent would write rules to a child, almost as if the architect of Genbu possessed a knowledge far more vast than those that they expected to be inhabiting it.  This was quite curious, but what was more curious was the inability of both the Mercenaries and the Stryfes to be able to decode or recognise the recurring symbol.  Interestingly enough, Dias would be the one to recognise it, informing Cloud that it was the symbol associated with Synchros, one which was used to graphically represent his name.

Cloud puzzled briefly now as he began to make his way up the massive beast once more, continuing his search for anything of particularly interest on the constructs actual body that would provide clues as to the reasons for its status.  Unfortunately they would not find much information regarding this, making the rest of the trip up the massive creature a rather uneventful one.  It would take Cloud sometime but he would eventually make it to the top of the massive turtle, having conserved enough stamina during his ascension to actually make his entry into the temple atop the massive Demi-god’s back.  As was expected, the main door to the temple facility was sealed shut, forcing Isis now to attempt to interface with Genbu in an attempt to open it.  Oddly enough, the door did not appear to be at all automated, meaning that the only way to enter the facility would be to generate enough physical force to actually pry open the massive structure.  Cloud sighed heavily, knowing that this would definitely put a huge drain on his already taxed stamina, forcing him to look for another way.  He and Isis would scan the structure of Pandora’s Temple for faults or flaws, looking for a simpler way into the temple than actually having to move the door.

It would take some time, but they would eventually find a rather large hole in the wall some 100 metres above them and about a quarter of the way around to the right of the entrance.  Unlike the main hall doorway, this point of entry would be rather hard to reach, but assuming that it could be reached, the actual act of entry would require no stamina drain.  Cloud and Isis would measure the pros and cons of each method for entry before finally deciding to attempt to make their way to the opening in the side of the temple.  Once again Cloud’s grappling hook and other climbing equipment would come in rather handy as he began to perilous journey from the main gate towards the elevated opening.  Being a combat oriented channeler, Cloud’s form was not exactly build for these kinds of tasks, and with his main strengths being severely reduced, he found this task to be an even harder one that he and Isis had expected.  Regardless of this, with some determination, he would make it up to the opening and make his way into the facility, where Isis would now dismount herself from his energy reserve and begin to interface with the city, while Cloud got some rest.

Now on the inside, she would actually have access to energetic consoles, which she would use in an attempt to unravel the mysteries behind the city itself.  Based on her limited understanding of the symbols, there was only so much that she could understand, but from what should could deduce, it appeared that the city itself had not done any time travelling through Gaia’s confusing Temporal pathways, but instead the information suggested that its architect was a denizen of one of Gaia’s lost futures, most likely the alternate future from which the senior guardians and destroys came.  This, when combined with the recurrence of the symbol for Synchros, left Isis to deduce that the being that had been host to both the guardian Synchros and destroyer Teros was most likely the designer of the facility, though it was unlikely that he could have built it alone.  She was unsure as to what its original purpose was, but she could be relatively certain that the corruption which had introduced the powerful draining effect in the demi-god was most likely induced by Teros or one of his followers, initially as a means to collect energy for some diabolical scheme before the entire thing spiralled out of control and Genbu occupied the state that he did now, uncontrollably draining energy from everything that he came into contact with.

Isis would then move onto attempting to locate and uplink into the temple’s internal systems, attempting to locate its environmental controls, defensive systems or even surveillance.  Unfortunately, she would soon realise that Pandora’s Temple was a far simpler structure than those that they were accustomed to dealing with.  The only network of systems that ran through this structure was its power relay systems, everything else seemed to be manually operated rather than run on some central system.  Isis sighed lightly, that meant that they would need to actively search the temple if they were to find Kairi and his crew.

Unfortunately, much like Cloud, her stamina was quickly coming to its limit so the young Unique would call it a day, making her way back to her commanding officer and sitting down to get some rest.
