Late Arrival: Juggerknot and Itamis attempt Kairi Itami bounty (25/08/2403)
Unlike Cloud before them, the Itamis had a more direct means of entering Pandora’s temple. The three Itami brothers would approach the massive creature in Ryuu’s Vanilla Fighter, while the Juggerknot approached in his Detrel and Setto and Ran approached with their ship as well. As they approached the temple, they would all watch as their various systems went offline and their vehicles began to go through a process very similar to capping as the energy drain really set it. Luckily, the last things to go would be the engines, allowing the teams to all make it onto the legde that supported Pandora’s Temple and set their vehicles down safely.
Their original plans had been to sky-dive down to the temple, but the issue of having the vehicles set themselves down in some place safe and avoid being stepped on by Genbu made them all reconsider their plan. Unfortunately however, as they set their ships down, they would sense as they instantly began to be assimilated into Genbu’s shell. Luckily, it would be an extremely slow process, with the rate suggesting that they could be on the massive turtle for upwards of a week without losing the vehicles completely, but it did make them acutely aware of the fact that there was indeed a time limit to their activities there. Within seven days, they would leave, one way or the others.
The six man team now would combine their considerably nerfed abilities as they now attempted to pry the massive door open. This task would take them some time and a considerable amount of stamina, but once achieved, Rueben and Ryuu would wedge themselves in the space between the door and Perfect Guard allowing the others to quickly make their way inside the massive facility. Once on the inside, they would begin their search for their target.
Unlike Cloud, who had entered storeys above them, this team found themselves presented with a massive and rather elaborate facility, rather than the darkened hallways that awaited them on higher levels. Down here, the area was well lit, the walls were almost pristine and most of the ethereal technology seemed to work with minimal problems. This area also seemed to be the primary living space of the people that had once inhabited this moving city before their demise. As the group made their way through this area, they would be confronted with chilling images. At first they would simply assume that the terrain was particularly unstable, but they would soon realise that like their ship outside, the floor of this level had slowly assimilated the inhabitants of this city into the temple floor and subsequently Genbu’s shell. Noting this, they would waste no time searching for a door to the higher levels, quickly leaving the area and proceeding upwards.
As the ascended the temple, they realised that the effects of the drain was reduce, though still not enough to allow them to function at anywhere near full capacity, leaving them in a similar boat to Cloud who found himself extremely nerfed. After some time wondering, it would quickly dawn on young Setto and Ran that the coordinator of this little outing seemed to have little in the way of an actual strategy for searching, leaving them to wonder around rather aimlessly in hopes of finding Kairi and Lya, out of what would really be little more than luck. Using their natural ethereal senses, the group would drift towards the most powerful energy signature which resided within their sensory ranges, but the maze of rooms and corridors made actually making it to their target particularly difficult. They would wonder for some time before their stamina would force them to call it quits and to devise an actual strategy for searching.
