Persistant Predator: Cloud attempts Kairi Itami bounty (27/08/2403)

Cloud’s combat suit would be put to the test over the past two days as he did his best to avoid the strange man that had been following him while he looked for Kairi.  Luckily for Cloud, who was unaware of what ability was being used to track him, regardless of what the method, it seemed to only be able to sense his presence, and not pin point his location.  This was rather fortunate, but didn’t manage to put the massive Stryfe at ease, he did not like being prey.

Cloud would inquire to Dias about the strange man, wondering if he was a past host of Teros or even Heiarch, but his Guardian companion would assure him that this was not the case.  Whoever this strange man was, he was someone that Dias had not yet encountered, and from the looks of things, neither had Cloud.  His pursuit caused Cloud to keep on the move as he searched for some kind of control room within the facility, doing his best to follow the power relay systems while he avoided contact with the odd entity that pursued him.  His search would lead him towards the bottom floor, but he would approach the base of the facility from the opposite end of the temple as the Itami team, preventing him from coming into contact with them.

As Cloud made it down to the bottom floor, he could feel a definite increase in Genbu’s energy draining ability, feeling as his massive reserve was drained far more quickly and completely than usual.  This forced Isis, who was currently in an energetic state, to quickly deactivate her Intercourse technique and dismount Cloud’s form, assuming a solid form to avoid being drawn off as well.  With this, they would both follow the power relay systems in the facility to the very centre of the area where the inhabitants of Pandora’s Temple was thought to have resided.  Unfortunately, they would both realise that the power relays continued further beneath the city itself.  Once again Cloud would be faced with a tough decision.  He had realised by now that the lower he went, the stronger the drain he experiences, so he could almost be certain that the energy drain beneath the city would be far higher than that experienced within the city.

Unfortunately, he didn’t have much else in the way of a search plan, so this would have to work.  Cloud would use his dwindling strength to physically remove the massive steel top that covered the path to the source of these energy relays, before he and Isis quickly made their way down.  As they moved further down, the drain would increase dramatically, a happening that alerted the two channelers to the fact that they simply could not stay down there very long.  Oddly enough, they would not find a control room but what seemed to be the equivalent of a generator room.  Isis would quickly analyse the structure, noting instantly that it seemed to strongly resemble convention channelling.   There was however something different, as it didn’t appear that the organ-like generator was actually drawing in or utilising latent energy, it seemed more like a repeater which simply channelled the energy from some external generator into Pandora’s Temple.  Isis would quickly deduce that the temple was most likely powered by Genbu’s own internal energy, one of the main reasons why technological luxuries were so rare in the massive structure.

Isis would briefly interface with a console in the somewhat cramped room, but she would not be able to acquire a great deal of information before she and Cloud were forced to leave and head back up to the higher levels.

By now, their stamina would be simply too low for them to continue, they would be forced to call it a day.
