Popularity: Multiple channelers attempt Nu quest (01/09/2403)
It seemed that the young artificially created ‘power user’ Nu had gathered quite a bit of interest of the R.E.Load Networks in particular, attracting a total of three channelers and their subordinates to challenging Alexander Drago’s newest commercial project. At present, his challengers would be Val, Davius and Gabriel, all of whom were eager to test their metal against the youngster. Unfortunately, he simply could not face them all at once in a fair fight, forcing him to chose between them. Val and Davius would offer to team up, but the thought of a four-on-one battle interested the young power user far less than the prospects of a one-on-one duel with a Combat Master like Gabriel. This would force Davius and Val to the sidelines, a decision enforced by Nu’s personal bodyguards, while the entity prepared to take on Gabriel.
There would be minimal set up for the battle as the media teams got into position and set up a perimeter to capture the fight for promotional purposes, before the green light was given and Gabriel was allowed to engage Nu. Gabriel would explode towards his opponent, giving Nu barely enough time to register the reality flux before Gabriel was on him. The initial blow from his Zeta Saber would connect with Nu’s chest, slashing the young fighter and sending him stumbling backwards before Gabriel resonated the attack and attempting to follow up with a combo. Unfortunately, his temporal abilities would trigger an automatic cascade of I-Type Zeta, which now fluxed outwards to create a field, blasting Gabriel away and into the ground to send him sliding away on his back. Given enough time to breath, Nu would now power himself up to full. Instantly a number of symbols would appear on his body as it coursed with Zeta Energy, allowing him to now levitate off of the ground as Gabriel made his way to his feet. Once again the channeler would come rushing in only to find himself plastered on a Zeta based barrier that stopped him in his tracks with a painful thud. Gabriel would curse lightly as he jumped back now, avoiding the energy projected off of Nu’s follow up punch before he delivered a slash that obliterated the barrier allowing him to move forwards again. Nu would meet him halfway and parry his slash at the hilt, stopping the attack in its tracks. Gabriel would begin to retract the attack while charging a Signium Crucious attack in his next hand, but his eyes would widen when a vice-grip like hold clasped onto his arm. His follow up attack would miss as Nu shifted around it, scooping him off his feet and slamming him into the ground with heavily augmented force. The attack would be enough to temporarily stun Gabriel, allowing Nu to follow up with a punch that drilled him further into the ground.
Gabriel would curse as he Ether Shifted now, appearing some distance away to find Nu waiting in a neutral stance for him, still hovering some distance off the ground. Gabriel would growl as he activated The End, focusing his limited Reality warping ability on deactivating Nu’s defensive attributes before he moved forwards again. Nu would smirk at the attempts, noting that Gabriel simply lacked the combined channelling skills necessary to achieve such a feat. Another ripple of Zeta Energy would shrug off the effects of Gabriel’s attempts allowing Nu to once again meet him halfway. The two would engage in a brief exchange, with Gabriel actually managing to score some hits on his opponent, while he Perfect Guarded and Ether Shifted to avoid a number of the follow ups. But as the battle progressed, Gabriel would realise that Nu quickly adapted to his fighting style and he began to score less and less attacks. It was at this point that Gabriel realised that he might have needed a more complex strategy to defeat his opponent. The thought would cross his mind and as fist impacted his stomach, before a pink light erupted from his chest. The resulting blast would send Gabriel riding it into the distance and into reversion, his low health being unable to take such a powerful attack.
“Four hits.” Nu would state as he turned to face the media team. “That should be good for the marketing department, right?” He continued before another man replied.
“Mr. Drago says that you should try for two next time.” Came the reply, much to Nu’s dismay.
Outcome: Quest remains incomplete.
Gabriel: 280 Exp (reverted)
