Home Coming: Rei does some more work around the Arc (15/09/2403)

The past few days had been rather busy for Rei as she prepared the data which she had extracted from the Arc for the world, it went without saying that everyone might not be as clear headed as she was about the fact that an entire race of potentially god-like beings were still contained within the Arc.  Given this, Rei took it upon herself to not only control the information about these entities which got out, but also control the access to the unique technology which the Arc held within as it was not too hard to see how a number of the technological systems could be weaponised.

Rei would spend a great deal of time collecting, editing and deleting potentially dangerous information, while she familiarised herself with the Arc’s technology.  Once this was done, she would begin preparation for her grand home coming.  A technique swap would definitely be in order, a task that took some time, but once that was done, Rei would make her way into the massive body of water to the west of the main city before she attempted to locate the entrance to the control room.  This would take some searching as the entrance was not clearly defined, but with the light from her Niche EX, her Sensory Superiority and the information which she had acquired from the network, she would eventually locate the entrance.

Once this was done, it would just be a simple task of once again interfacing with the unique ‘lock’ mechanism to provide it with the correct ‘key’ before she was let in.  What would follow next would be a painstaking process as Rei went about familiarising herself with the systems of the facility.  First she would attempt to locate the ‘stealth’ function which she would need to deactivate.  This task would take her some time, but she would eventually find what she was looking for.  Interestingly enough, this dimension displacement technology was the same technology which she would need to access if she was intent on moving the Arc to another location, something that she thought might be necessary if the Stryfe below realised that she planned on claiming the city as her own.  Once she familiarised herself with that, she would then try to familiarise herself with the scanning mechanisms that governed the entry of individuals into the facility.  Her goal with that would be to essentially ‘lower’ the protocols to make it easier for others to get it, but selectively so, such that she could control it to a point.  This would be particularly tricky however, as she soon realised that while she could indeed lower the security level, she couldn’t configure the system with enough specificity to only let particular people in.  Rei pouted lightly at this but would finally resign herself to the fact that that was what the actual door was for.

With this done, Rei would deactivate the facility’s ‘stealth’, shunting the city back into conventional space before she opened the door and lowered the security protocols.  As Rei did this, she could instantly feel the difference as Gaia’s natural ethereal flows filled the lost city.  Rei would quickly make her way back to the surface and up to the exit, which was indeed open.  The first thing she would do would be to whip out her Communications Link and place a call to her wife, she would either be in for the warmest welcome or the sternest scolding.

Rei smiled, knowing Sari, she might have just been in for both.

Outcome: The Arc has reappeared above Valhallard and is now open.
