Shake Up: Val attempts Nu quest (24/09/2403)

Val’s confidence was peaking as he entered the energetic barriers that made up the ‘ring’ in which he would fight Nu, powering up his form to max and awaiting the minute that they would start the battle.  The young Power User construct couldn’t help but think that Val looked far more confident than those before him, even despite the massive difference in their power level.  Clearly this was a man with a plan.

As the battle started, Val would power up his form, focusing primarily on his Defense and Offense boosters before he activated his Overdrive to boost his agility.  Within seconds of powering up, Val started to launch off attacks towards Nu, his Genesis Break and Overwhelming Force ensuring that Nu took him seriously.  And Seriously he did, Nu would waste no time dodging his opponents initial beam attacks, before amping his defensive aura to counter the effects of Val’s area wide effects.  Val’s Mircowave was particularly annoying as he constantly eroded Nu’s defensive structures, ensuring that if he was indeed caught by one of Val’s blasts, that he would suffer for it.

Luckily for Nu however, he was the first to score an attack rather than Val, catching the Genesis Broken power house with a heavily concentrated Z-Type Zeta blast.  This shocked Val when he saw the attack coming, having easily dodged the three I-Type Zeta blasts that had come his way prior to this unique attack.  It was only on impact that Val realised that Nu was setting him up, playing to his confidence before drilling him with the powerful energy blast.  Val’s defensive abilities would shave off some of the damage, but he would still take quite a shot.  Luckily Val would not be stunned from the attack, allowing him to dodge the follow up beam of energy before a physical shot caught him in the jaw and rocked his stance.  Val’s eyes widened as he contemplated how Nu could move so fast that he could not react in time, but he would waste no time expanding a wave of energy to blast the construct away to prevent it from following up with another physical attack.

Already, Val’s health was below the halfway mark, and he had only taken two hits from the beastly power user, but he had at least managed to connect with a hit.  He would quickly rush in, parrying Nu’s counter attack with a Deflector Strike to off balance the Power User before he launched what he hoped would be a Critical Strike.  Unfortunately, the attack only clipped Nu, who retaliated now with a descending chop to Val’s neck, finally managing to stun the Psionic.  Nu would smirk as the energy erupted through the channels in his body, bathing the area with pink light before Val was driven into the ground with an energy enhanced palm thrust.

The residual energy effects swirling in the air would make excellent promotional footage as Nu retained his undefeated streak.
