All Out War: DX vs Syn (04-02-2403)

The members of both team finally managed to assemble in the colleseum, facilitating a match that had actually managed to get a lot of hype, despite its relatively underground nature.  Nothing said grudge match like the two huge teams that now found themselves lining up on either side of the battlefield, and with the reputation as the network’s strongest team at stake, everyone could be sure that there would be no holding back.  As would be expected, the facility was specifically reinforced for this match, as the promoters of the fight wished to ensure that no one was forced to hold back on any level.  This would indeed be an all out war.

Much to Xian’s disdain, no set up time would be given before the battle, no doubt due to the specific’s for Reign’s and Paco’s forms, both of whom could seed the battlefield while Xian prepared his technical necessities and seriously tip the scales of the battle before it really started.  For this reason, Xian didn’t complain too much, resolving to a lengthily sigh as he took to the backlines of Syn’s formation and awaited the commencement of the match.  Each team waited eagerly for the bell that would sound the start of the battle, allowing the battle coordinators, Paco and Rueben, to get off their team set-ups as soon as it was sounded.  Rueben wasted no time difusing into his Comic Mist, a move that would actually be to his detriment as Paco exploded his entire AOI with his napalm flames, causing the entire area to be visually blanketed with flames.  Rueben cursed slightly now as his form absorbed quite a bit of damage, before he was actually forced to perfect guard the rest of the attack, ensuring that he didn’t take too much damage early on.  This was a good thing for the rest of his team, as his perfect guard actually managed to shield them all in his diffused state, absorbing the fire and forget attack launched by Paco and revealing the massive increase of channelers on the field.  Rueben would scoff loudly as he allowed his team to continue with the attack, Kyo and John wasting no time in charging forward while Gabriel made an instantaneous break for Reign, the channeler considered to be one of the most deadly on the enemy side.

While Gabriel took too Reign now, the team instantly sensed an army of Bobbys behind them, each of them wielding a different gun and allowing the Deceptor to now open up with a spray of fire that caused the pinned team to modify their linear stategy.  This was no problem for Rueben, who wasted no time in spreading his Fear through the battlefield, creating disarry amongst his enemies, allowing him to begin his persuasion, attempting to get them to turn on themselves.  This gave Xian just enough time to complete the fusion of his scanning abilities and Rueben’s, giving Syn just a few moments to realise their error before it was all too late.  Once again the battlefield exploded with lingering destructive energies as the real members of DX sprang forth from the ground, getting the jump on their opponents, who were currently battleing with, and quite frankly decimating the SPLICES of ROM that now littered the battlefield, posing as his teammates.  This allowed the members of DX to each get in at least one clean hit on their specific targets.

Syn’s trump card Gabriel would be instantaneously engaged by Mavrick, who had already morphed into his Ashura form, utilising his own Temporal and Probability abilities to counter Gabriel’s own skills while he went to work duking it out with him.    By now, the combined abilities of ROM’s SPLICES, and specifically their White Noise ability had also began to take its toll on the enemy, simulating the disorienting effects of Rueben’s FEAR ability while Rueben did his best to counter the sonic based ethereal technique.  Unfortunately for Syn’s lynch pin, Paco’s lack of a direct involvement in this brawl meant that his area of influence flame abilities were making him quite a nuisance for Rueben, who’s form literally took up the entire battlefield.

Nicholas had easily waded his way through the ranks of Syn and began his targeting of Thales, the only member of the time that was still in his level Tier.  This was easily countered however as Rueben easily swapped Thales out for a more difficult target, putting Nicholas face to face with an eager Alyssa Blake, who was more than ready to show the speedster what the team was all about.  Xian would smirk as he took note of this before his scanning abilities registered an unnerving energy spike from Reign, who wasted no time in spreading his cursed orbs throughout the battlefield, while he prepared for something which was undoubtedly more dangerous than the Astral leeches which Xian now went to work disabling.  This gave Rueben enough time to redirect, Kyo and John towards Reign, taking their attention off of Yasmin, who had assumed her Blui dragon form, as well as her Mystique form, both Overdriven as she acted as DX’s eyes and ears as they coordinated the battle on the fly.

Thanks to Rueben’s dimensional mastery, it wouldn’t take long for John and Kyo to close the distance on Reign, forcing the summoner into his Purgatory Armour as he now found himself under assault, his most devastating move having been interrupted by the duo.  This left the likes of Jais to deal with ROM, who they believed to be weak against Astral energy... but how wrong they were of the Deviant’s new Astral Attuned form.  Jais found himself fighting an uphill battle against the phalanx that was ROM 113, as he easily adapted to any astral skill that Jais could throw at him, forcing the usually evasive channeler to attempt to take him on at a more direct level if he really wanted to stop the effects of White Noise on himself and his teammates.

The odd distribution of power actually left Yasmin temporarily unoccupied, a tactic that Rueben quickly attempted to remedy as he redirected Xian’s attention towards her more destructive form, forcing him to attempt to neutralise her Astrally.  Unfortunately, the speed at which Yasmin’s overdriven form allowed her to adapt to his assaults served to strongly hinder Xian’s assaults, allowing the Phalanx to turn his raw offensive abilities on the Engineer, resulting in a more direct of conflicts.  Such a change in tactics was also adopted by Rueben who was forced to abandon his Mist form due to Paco’s relentless assaults, taking on a more concentrated form and shielding himself, while he and Paco did their best to destroy each other with their area of effect spells, creating a rather unpleasant environment for channelers on both sides of the battlefield.

By now however, Bobby, who had been managing to keep a rather low profile up until now, finally managed to finish the summon of his fully powered cannon, which he focused on Kyo and John.  Needless to say the two tanks easily shielded the attack, but this gave Reign just the time needed to cut his Health by 500 points, and use the lifeforce lost to facilitate his Dagon Arc.  The attack spread through the battlefield now as the Dagon infused energy fused with the energy collected from Reign’s natural draining abilities, creating a chain lightning affect as it spread through the ranks of Syn, using their Astral presences as beacons to home in on and growing in strength as it arced from channeler to channeler.  This unseen attack would be the first strike to actually tilt the perfectly even battle in the favour of one team, as it actually managed to inflict heavy damage on all of the members of Syn, damaging even their healers rather heavily.  Oddly enough, it wouldn’t be the damage to their healers that would be most concerning, but instead the damage done to Rueben’s form, forcing the Itami to retreat somewhat as his team drew back to defend him.  Xian and Jayce would waste no time attempting to heal him, but with their Astral energies so heavily damaged from Reign’s Dagon Arc, the process would be a slow on.  This would force DX onto the offensive, allowing them to utilise their definite direct damage advantage as they pressed down on Syn.  The team would soon realise just how useful Perfect Guard could be when possessed by quite literally half the members of a team, allowing Syn to stave off the attack long enough to allow Jais and Xian to patch up their teammates.

Unfortunately, on DX’s side, ROM’s Auto Regeneration had set him rather nicely back on the path of having full health, while Reign used the off time to heal his own teammates with his Solaris principle, pushing the battle back towards the point at which it started... only with one major difference; the members of Syn were quickly running out of Perfect Guards, and DX could easily replicate any of the attacks which Syn had been forced to guard before.  A new strategy would definitely be necessary, and Rueben had just the right plan.  DX would be caught off guard by Syn’s Chimera attack, as a hail on combined energies expanded from them, pushing back DX’s assorted assault with a perfectly unified, singular combination attack the would easily overwhelm anything that DX would throw.  Reign would curse loudly as he instantly dissipated the floor beneath them, once again, dropping his teammates into the biggest hole that he could find, allowing the brunt of the attack to pass over them as those who had not used up their Omega Drives shielded the others from the blast.

Yasmin eyebrow’s fluttered as her scanning abilities revealed to her that this was an ability that could be replicated on the fly, as long as all of Syn were on the same page, a task that was kept possible by Rueben’s and Xian’s perpetual interlink.  With this in mind, DX would make their way back out of their hiding spot, with Yasmin switching to her Cross form, utilising this quick moving form to better dodge between the combined attacks of Syn as they spread back out to engage the enemy, once again creating the stalemate as  DX’s direct power was met with Syn’s superior coordination and integration.  It would just be a low whirring sound in the very background of the duel that would worry both Rueben and Xian, both of whom failed to be able to sense its source.  As the battle wore on, both teams were whittled down, exhausting their Omega Drives, Perfect Guards and a number of their other finite abilities, once again drawing towards that point where they sensed that the conclusion would be near.  As this point approached the whirring would come to an end, causing Xian and Rueben some worry.

“It has to be Reign... take him out now!” Rueben commanded, instantly teleporting Gabriel, John and Kyo onto the Animator to decimate him.

“Wrong one...”  Was all ‘Reign’ would say as he exploded now, blasting them backwards, revealing itself to be a SPLICE as the real Reign emerged from the light in the area itself, revealing himself to be at exactly one health point.

“Dagon Arc...”  The young prince said solemnly stated as his energy arced throughout the battle field, starting on the weakest of channelers and finishing finally on the tank that was Kyo.

Only Kyo and John would be able to survive the attack, having Dynamic Guarded enough of the ethereal damage, to make it out without a reversion.  Unfortunately, the rest of their teammates would not be so lucky.  DX would show no mercy as they descended on the two, who could do little but go down fighting, resolving to do their best to the very end.  And a quick end it would be.

Reign would spend the rest of his stamina attempting to heal his teammates before he eventually collapsed from exhaustion, leaving everyone only partially healed.  Both teams had taken enough damage to have been reverted thrice over, yet DX managed to make it out without a single reversion.  Paco would be rather pleased.
