Dragon vs Panther: Serai duels Val (10-02-2403)
After the fiasco that was the duel between the crazed Leonardo and Val Kaden, Serai was dying for a chance at erasing the embarrassing loss to the mercenary power-house Val. This lead the Rogue agent to go to great lengths to secure the rematch between the two, a challenge that Val only accepted as a chance to get his revenge against Serai’s master, the Legendary Dragon: Sun Lee.
The two met at the designated area, a small park near the outskirts of the area which had been abandoned post fusion due to the damages sustained during the true world war, opting to commence the battle 100 metres apart so that they each had a reasonable set up time. As the two stood gathering their energies, Val would be the one to give the signal, giving Serai the heads up that the battle had commenced before he vanished from sight. This manoeuvre would have proved to be somewhat disconcertain was it not for Serai’s Crimson Eye, which easily allowed the Psionic to track his stealth opponent as he vanished and reappeared some distance behind him.
By now, Serai’s energy had already exploded from his form, forming the dragon wings and shaking the environment theatrically as usual. Val scoffed to himself at the useless display of force, until his form began to register a very unique form of damage, with Serai’s native virus going to work at disabling his deflective abilities. Val cursed inaudibly as his Lightsworn now began to tap into Serai’s shadow, draining the energy from his form as he powered up his Soul Rush to fill Val’s own energy reserves as he attempted to counter the virus that was eating away at his deflection. As he did this, Serai released his Soul Eater into the ground to corrode Val’s leeching attack while Val powered up his Full Burn and launched a devastating strike at what he assumed to be the unwitting channeler.
Unfortunately for the Mercenary, Serai had his attack long scouted, and easily dodged the lunging palm strike, spinning with boosted momentum to deliver a strong hook kick to his opponent’s temple. This powerful strike served to stun the larger Shifter long enough for Serai to power up his Zogenachi, boosting his speed to deliver a powerful reverse punch before utilising the full power of his Colossal Force on his opponent. As Serai slid forwards and picked up Val off the ground with a single hand, he then followed through with his momentum, dragging the channeler backwards and allowing him to trail through the air before planting him into the ground and exploding the area with his various disruptive energies. This proved to be particularly devastating due to Serai’s Chuuki-Hensa having disabled Val’s defensive abilities, forcing the Shifter to take the full damage of the attack before he was knocked back to his senses.
Val exploded the area as Serai thrusted back, only being caught by the edge of the attack as Val once again repeated his initial manoeuvre, vanishing and appearing behind Serai to launch a surprise attack. This one was more narrowly missed, actually clipping his opponent who was still recoiling from the power of Val’s energy detonation. Unfortunately, with his battle strategy consisting of little else apart from these simple manoeuvres, it was not particularly difficult for Serai to counter. Rolling with the attack, Serai would deliver a powerful backfist to knock his defensely opponent off guard, once again stunning the channeler’s who’s Resillience and Deflection had been corroded to the point of non-existence. This allowed Serai’s corrosive energies to deal massive damage as he powered into his ultimate version of his Soul Rush, launching his opponents with a powerful launching strike before following up with a number of oddly placed drunken palms. The five hit combo would be enough to push Val to the brink of reversion before a final Zogenachi obliterated what was left of his seriously weakened form. Serai would smirk broadly as his opponent exploded off his fist, skating across the ground before reverting to his user form, forcing the Psionic to deactivate his area of effect abilities to avoid killing his opponent. The young channeler would turn as he left the area, remarking much like his sensei: “You have felt the power of the Death Dragon.”
