Clan Fued: Reign impromptu duels Roun (16-02-2403)
A strange silhouette drew the attention of the massive party of channelers as they made their final preparations for their journey into the Underhill. It seemed that yet another Boss tier channeler had made his way towards the group, a fact that greatly displeased Cloud in particular. As the odd masked channeler closed the distance between himself and the group he announced.
"Sorry about before.” He opened now, causing them all to look puzzled as his glowing red eyes focussed on Roun. “I didn't reveal myself then, but I am Reign Titan, Prince of the Titan clan. You Itamis are the enemy of my clan... or so it has been written, I would normally not fight you under these conditions but my patience has run dry, now show me why my people hate you so much!" He exclaimed, powering up to full, an action that was met by the same from all eleven channelers now facing him, but Roun would signal for his associates to relax.
The young Itami’s eyebrow now raised as he looked towards Ryuu, who look just as puzzled as he was, knowing nothing of this Titan clan which his opponent talked about, causing Roun to shrug and turn to Reign now. “I don’t even know who these Titans are but...” He paused now, cracking his knuckles as his energies began to flow through him. “If you want to duel me I’ll be happy to oblige you.” Came the reply, much to Reign delight.
Reign wouldn’t waste time replying but simply summoned his Dagon cannon, activating the weapon’s Void Eater ability to drain Roun before he began to launch off a number of his Cursed Orbs towards Roun. Roun’s eyebrow raised as his form registered the energy drain, shrugging slightly as he countered with the energy generation abilities of Aesis before he dodged the initial cursed orb rounds, only for them to change their vector and impact his form nevertheless. Roun eyebrow raised further now as the drain on his form increased, the Cursed Orbs going to work, causing the young Itami to scoff loudly. “Dots...” would be the only word to escape his lips as he powered up his myriad of Polar abilities to repulse the effects of Reign’s abilities now, purging the foreign code from his form as he now moved towards his opponent to deal with him. Reign smirked at this development, beginning the summoning of his Purgatory Armour as he prepared for his melee counter offense.
Unfortunately for Reign, as Roun vanished from his location, the young Itami rematerialised before Reign could even complete the summoning process, his fist impacting Reign’s form and sending the summoner stumbling back from the sheer force. Only now would his armour summon around him, taking the blow of Roun’s shadow image and dissipating that foce. As the armour completed its summoning phase, Roun recoiled his initial attack, only to find himself ensnared by some kind of invisible attack, an odd Dagon weapon that was now attempting to drain is kinetic energy while crushing his form.
“Tcsh...” He scoffed, being greatly annoyed as he was forced to summon Veranos about his form now, infusing it into his Chaos Driver as he used the massive boost in strength to whip his arm away, shattering the Dagon infused chains simply by inputting a higher quantity of energy. Once this was done Roun vanished again, evading a lightning arc from Reign’s Reaper Gauntlets as he appeared above the channeler with two balls of white energy glowing in his closed fists. Vabbian would alert Reign to his opponent’s new position, giving the young summoner enough time to sink himself into the earth and avoid the massive blast that was coming his way. Reign breathed a sigh of relief as he registered the pillar of energy caused by the explosion of the ground above him, before he now realised that he had lost track of Roun’s energy signature in the blast. Reign’s eyes widened as he focused his scanning abilities on locating the channeler before he felt a palm on his chest. Instantly the world would go white as Reign exploded from the ground in an Aesis Vector Flood, and a wispy Roun trailed behind him, catching the young Summoner on his way up before shifting his posture and thrusting downwards, slamming Reign into the ground once again. The initial impact of the slam would be for the most part dissipated by his purgatory armour, allowing Reign to instantly begin attempting to push Roun off, only for Roun’s Polar Manifestation to kick in, causing his attack to be replicated by the ether itself, once again planting Reign firmly into the ground beneath him, visibly cracking his armour now and leaving a slight indentation of Reign in the earth beneath.
Once again Roun would try to press off, only to find himself ensnared in Reign’s Dagon chains once more, stalling him long enough for the channeler to now summon Golems from his elemental principles and seriously crank up the drain on Roun’s form. This forced the young Itami to start to get serious, cranking his Infinity Field and Imperial Break up to maximum, allowing his energy to spread out from him and assimilate all of the foreign energy within his area of influence. This made for a rather interesting match-up between the two vampiric channelers, whose abilities all but cancelled each other out on an ethereal level, leaving Reign with the Astral and Psychein advantage as he began to charge his Dagon cannon once more. Unfortunately, what he didn’t count on was Roun’s Zeta abilities, manifesting as a pair of sleek gauntlets before the Itami once again vanished.
“What in the...” Reign exclaimed before Roun’s fists impacted his face, cracking Vabbian before a uppercut to the gut sent him skipping backwards. Reign would swipe wildly at Roun as he reappeared, sending his Dagon chains after the Itami once more, but this time to no avail as Roun managed to dodge the bind, weaving close to the summoner once more to deliver to quick jabs to his mask before shifting his body and throwing his full momentum into his last punch which shattered Vabbian and launched Reign away.
“And that’s enough of that.” Roun stated seriously now, as he began to construct his own cannon from the ambient energies present, infusing it with his own Veranos variant, Veranos SP as he attempted to combat Reign’s extreme draining abilities.
Some distance away, Reign would slide to a stop, watching as his Dagon cannon also slid to a stop next to him allowing him to catch his reflection in the surface of the relatively shiny weapon. “Itami!!!” would come the exclamation as his face was revealed, but little did he know that he would have a lot more to yell about. As Roun combusted one of his fuel cells, a massive beam exploded from his Imperial Cannon, allowing him to wave it across the battle field, dispatching first the Golems and then Reign’s Dagon cannon before the charge itself ran out. Reign scoffed at this, thinking that it would take the Itami some time before he could launch a similar attack again, but he would be rather shocked when he saw another over charged blast impact his Purgatory Armour dissipating that as well, sending him into shock as the psychic backlash kicked in.
These few seconds would allow Roun to repair his damaged code and restock his energy supply, before dispelling his Imperial cannon and reabsorbing that energy. Once this was done, Roun would wait for Reign to get to his feet.
“Okay, I have to admit that I underestimated you at the start of the battle...” Roun reasoned, unusually seriously. “...and that was a mistake...” He continued with his hand outstretched to point at this opponent. “...but I’ll take you seriously from here on in.” He added, cracking his knuckles to burn time before Reign could resummon his two binding summons.
Luckily, this would not be too long, and soon the young Titan would be back in the game, once again establishing the massive drain on the battlefield before he began to launch off blasts from his Dagon Cannon. Roun just powered up all of his abilities to their maximum, combusting yet another fuel cell to offset the drain imposed by Reign’s abilities as he vanished from his location, almost instantaneously closing the distance between him and Reign. “I believe these are yours...” He sounded as he released the Code Locker on the attacks he held in his hands, allowing his shadows to filter into his stance, also bringing with them the rounds from Reign’s Dagon cannon that they had collected. This energy, combined with Roun’s own code, detonated on the young Titan’s form, blasting him backwards once again. Roun would take full advantage of the launcher, Bursting up to his opponent with a sliding uppercut, completely changing his momentum to send him flying directly up. Next he would Infinite Warp past the still disoriented channeler, who was still trying to process how his own rounds could hit him. A strong punch would slow his ascent now, as another copy joined in to cancel his momentum before the final copy’s strike sent him hurling back towards the ground with the same amount of force that Roun had launched him upwards with.
By the time Reign came to his senses, all he would feel would be the sensation of being engulfed by a Veranos dragon as Roun warped his form back into the ground. As the two impacted, Reign exploded into code, dissipating all of his summons on the battlefield as well. Roun would be forced to erect a shield over his personal space to guard the impacts of his copies as they followed through with the end of the attack, reabsorbing that energy into his form as well as Reign’s energy that he had just dissipated. Roun would look down at his soft reverted opponent, who just looked up at him in confusion as he tried to process the last attack.
“What the hell was that Itami!?” He exclaimed, trying now to figure out how he could be knocked out of his powered up state but not be hard reverted. Roun just smirked.
“Don’t worry about that... just know that you still have a long way to go before you can take me, Reign.” Roun smirked, rather impressed with himself.
“Heh.” Reign smirked as well. “Even though I lost here today, know this Itami. I will still avenge my people.” He sounded. “So remember this Roun, Prince of Itam, whatever you do... do not die... only I will have the privilege of taking your life... and I swear that as a Titan."
“Riiight...” Was all Roun would reply, looking sceptically at the overly dramatic Oyan as he turned and moved back towards his party. “We’ll settle this another time...” With this, Raena moved over to her commanding Officer to heal him while Reign began to heal himself. The two would part ways for now, but all present knew that this thing was not over.
