Quick Dueling: Reign, Paco and Roun duel (09/09/2403)
The reason for the duel would be a simple one, with the young prince Reign making a great deal of complaints about his skills wasting away for the past few weeks, he had managed to convince his two commanding officers to engage him in a bout of light duelling.
The three would find an area far away from their target to set up for the duel, each taking up their positions a fair distance apart before the battle was started officially. As was expected, Paco would vanish, utilising a great deal of energy to transport him to the edge of his area of influence, while Reign also vanished underground before he began to create his binding summon. It was at this point that Roun sighed, realising exactly what kind of battle this was going to be: one that he didn’t care for at all. The Itami would be forced to vanish as well as Paco’s nuking began. Interestingly enough, he would leave both Reign and Paco’s sensory ranges as well as their Areas of Influence, leaving these two to duke it out.
For Reign this was the plan anyway as he had no intension of dealing with the Itami early on. He would quickly vanish from his location with his Astral Rail, having dawned his Tempest Golem as an armou. Paco would be rather surprised to see Reign burst out of the ground from his location with a Cryo Golem summoned. Paco cursed heavily now as he poured his energy into countering Reign’s abilities, but the Ice attacks seemed to counter his fire attacks while Reign’s ability to leech his energy stat made the battle more difficult. Initially, Paco would have the upper hand with the higher damage output, but with Reign’s drain, it would slowly even up before Paco found himself on the losing end of the exchange. Paco would curse lightly, vanishing from his location to appear elsewhere and repeat his tactic.
Paco would quickly realise that with Reign tracking him Astrally, his Chaos Realm was only of marginal assistance, leaving the two to play a cat and mouse game of sorts as Reign tried to get Paco to stay in one location and fight, while Paco teleported around his area of influence and blasted when it was convenient for him. This would continue for a while until Roun appeared within the fray. As Paco proved to be the more annoying of the two targets, he would be the first to draw Roun’s aggression. With Roun’s near immeasurable speed and his Infinity Aura dissipating his ethereal distortions for the most part, the attack might have well been a stealthed one. Paco would just find himself pitched into a spiral before a trail of white energy, the resulting Vector Flood from Roun’s attack juggled his stunned form. Roun would dissipate his momentum and come to a stop, dissipating the rest of the attack to avoid reverting the frail Paco, allowing him to leave the battle early on.
Roun would then turn his attention to Reign, “I hope you’re not going to be annoying as well...” he spoke now, as he awaited the young Titan’s move.
Reign would now shift his Cryo Golem to an Aero golem in an attempt to drain Roun’s speed state now, forcing the Itami to activate both of his special abilities to maximise his energy absorption abilities. Reign would compound this with his Tempest Golem’s copy of the same Aero principle however, effectively doubling the drain and putting Roun’s massive energy absorption abilities in a great deal of jeoprody. Reign would Astral Rail towards his opponent now, putting Roun on the defensive as he held his ground and allowed the young summoner to attack. Roun would easily dodge the incoming Concussion Levitas before Uplinking to the two Aero Golems on the battlefield and utilising his Imperial Break to dissipate their code back into the environment. This liberated a great deal of his energy, which he quickly reabsorbed with his Imperial Aura as Reign set back up the two Golems once again. Roun growled, this was indeed an annoyance, forcing him to charge his Grid Lock before vanishing from sight once again. Reign would track him Astrally, vanishing with his Astral Rail to avoid Roun’s incoming attack, appearing some distance away before Roun once again dissipated the summons with his Imperial Break. Reign would attempt to summon the golems once more, but before he could complete this routine he would find Roun behind him and his Aero Principle Grid Locked.
Reign smirked now, realising that he would have to fight the Itami on more even terms, turning his energy towards his Dagon Arc Golem, cutting his health and allowing the attack to be realised. Roun would jump back before combusting one of his Crisis Cores, releasing his maximum controllable energy from the energetic packet before he flash coded it into a crystalline shield. Reign’s attack would shatter the shield but would not continue on to do any additional damage, this would give Roun the opportunity to dash towards his opponent as he recovered, landing powerful punch to the sternum to stun him. Unfortunately for Roun, he would quickly feel as his life force began to be consumed by the Tempest Golem’s defensive Aura. This prevented Roun from launching a follow up attack as Reign regained his senses creating another Dagon golem and preparing to launch yet another Dagon Arc. As Roun stumbled backwards, he would charge his Rebound Driver, allowing him to launch himself inito the air as the attack stream off towards him, allowing Reign to summon his Solaris Golem and start his natural healing process.
As Roun reached the maximum height of his jump, he would activate his Permenant attributes to max, cranking up his speed and heading towards the edge of Reign’s area of influence, the only place that he knew that he would be safe from the attack. Roun’s speed based abilities would max out now as the Dagon Arc continued to close the distance between itself and the Itami. Finally it would catch him, but not fully as Roun form barely managed to cross the boundary of Reign’s area of influence. This would cause the energy to dissipate, preventing further damage before Roun would plan his next attack.
Back on the ground, Reign was setting up for his opponent’s return, charging his defensive aura to prevent Itami from scoring any sneak attacks without at least taking some backlash. Much to his surprise, Roun would slam into the ground right in front of him, puzzling Reign now as he charged his defensive abilities. Roun would smirk as the incoming Vector Flood was about to catch up with his form. Once again he would vanish, plotting a path throughout Reign’s sensory range before reappearing an equal distance from Reign but this time behind him. Reign would not waste time as he took to the Astral Realm to avoid whatever it was that Roun was planning, but Roun would just Code Lock his Crisis Grid and leave it.
As Reign emerged, he would launch another Dagon Arc attack forcing Roun to thrust fowards and counter the beam of energy with his own unique Veranos White energy type. The two life force attacks would cancel each other out, but allow Reign to move forwards with his own Concussion Levitas, catching Roun and stunning him. This attack would nerf Roun’s channelling abilities considerably, while allowing Reign to score a powerful follow up strike before the Itami could react. Reign would go to work pummelling his opponent as his senses came back to him, but a quick shoulder throw would easily end the melee barrage of the summoner. Reign would right himself in the air easily, landing without much effort as he prepared to activate his Astral Rail technique once again. Reign’s eyes would widen as Roun smirked now, snapping his finger and flash coding the entire 300 metre hash that surrounded the young Titan into attractive Aesis.
Reign’s form would be flooded with the polarised energy type as it overran his form allowing Roun to combust yet another Crisis Core before opening with a series of Veranos SP based piercing attacks to dissipate Reign’s defensive aura. This would be done in just a few strikes, while the follow up dispatched his binding summon. This would stun lock Reign long energy for Roun to drag down the rest of his health before finally calling off the attack.
The Itami would come to a stop while Reign fell to his feet, he would need some time to recover before he could heal the lot of them.
