Exponential Growth (02/01/2317)

With the Oyan Prince, Maximillian Itami, acting as his guardian, the young boy who came to know himself as Kyasho had quickly come to grips with his Ki based powers.  In just a few years, the boy had been able to match his teacher’s power, even developing his own unique energy form to combat his teacher’s Veranos ability.

The entire experience of training the boy had been quite humbling for the 27 year old Oyan, who could technically consider himself to be more powerful than the young boy by conventional means of power measurement, but would be forced to acknowledge realistically that despite his higher power level, he still found himself squaring off almost evenly with the boy in combat.

Young Kyasho had even picked up the Itami’s unique style of martial arts, mastering it to the point where he could even hold his own against his master’s physical skills as well as defend the energy barrages which Maximillian would not be afraid to unleash at him.

As the two went through their morning sparring session, Kyasho dodged under one of his teacher’s attacks, a feat that wasn’t entire difficult for the small ten year old boy, allowing him to close the distance between his master and himself, landing two straight punches with his odd ‘shrieking’ energy type to knock his teacher back.  As he attempted to follow up, he went sailing into the air, diving quickly with a side kick which Maximillian easily blocked.  The guard cancelled his momentum, allowing the Itami to deliver an outward crescent kick to the lad, warping to the side where he had deflected the boy before catching him on a high side kick and driving him into the ground with a one-legged throw.

This was one thing which young Kyasho seemed to lack, the raw speed of his master, but he more than made up for it with his destructive energy projection ability.  As Kyasho rolled across the ground now, he slid to a stop and trained his palm on his teacher, causing the Itami to dodge as a wave of shrieking energy sailed past him and unimaginable speed.  Max would appear next to his ward and step on his back, looking down with a slight sigh.

“Your physical abilities are as good as mine, yet you still cling to your energy projection skills…” He sounded, ignoring as young Kyasho tried to get up from under foot.

“I can’t beat you at martial arts…” Kyasho replied, his whining tone reminding Maximillian why he had slowly grown to dislike Terra in just 10 years of being in the realm.

A powerful Veranos blast scorched the young boy’s back as Maximillian continued to pin him down.  “Get up or I will revert you… and when you wake up, you’ll never see me again.” He sounded, causing Kyasho to instantly charge a powerful wave of his unique energy.  “If you use your energy projection, I will leave, and you will never see me again.”  He now added, causing the boy to start crying as the waves of Veranos continued to come down upon him.

Maximillian would sigh loudly, continuing to blast the boy towards reversion, before he felt his feet being pushed up.  The force with which the boy moved was almost overwhelming, off balancing Max long enough for the boy to sweep his other leg, spinning to lunge punch him away.  The attack sent him flying before he hit the ground, allowing the residual force from the attack to push the Oyan skating away on his side.

Kyasho looked as Maximillian stayed down for a bit longer than usual, before getting up and dusting himself off, looking down at the damage that the boy had done to his form.  For the first time since he had been to Terra, he was met by damage which he would need to power down to heal.

“Are you alright?”  Kyasho inquired now, running up to his master.

“I’m fine.”  Maximillian replied with a pleased grin.  “It’s about time you stopped whining… let that be a lesson to you…”  He explained.  “When the time comes, there is nothing that you can’t do to get the job done.”  These words would change the life of young Kyasho for years to come.

This day would also mark a turning point for Maxmillian Itami as well, as it would be the last day that he could cling to any superiority over the young Ki Savant.  From that day on, Maximillian would continue to be the boy’s master, guiding him along the path of learning to use his skills.  But even within this role, he was forced to acknowledge after this point that the boy’s skills would quickly surpass his own.  It was simply a matter of time.
