The Great Departure (03/12/2323)

The world shook violently on the day that Kyasho and Maximillian departed from each others’ company.  Now sixteen, Kyasho realised that there was nothing more that Maximillian could teach him about himself, acknowledging that the rest of his experiences would have to be acquired on his own... and the now thirty-two year old Maximillian Itami acknowledged that his dept to the young Kyasho had been repaid, and the boy was equipped to go about and facilitate the restoration of his world.  This would allow Maximillian to return to his original task, the destruction of those same forces which banished him to this world.  Right now, his path back home remained blocked, obstructed by a gargantuan creature, summoned with a single goal of preventing the Itami from entering the gate that was now strengthening every day.  This was a task which it was more than simply proficient in doing, costing the now mature prince his legendary blade in their last encounter.

“Where will you go to now?” Maximillian inquired now, looking down to Kyasho as he thought about the question.

“I don’t know many places… and from what you’ve told me, my father is dead and my mother doesn’t remember me.”  Kyasho smiled uncomfortably.  “I have heard of a place, though… foreign to people on the surface, a home to a strange off-shoot of the human race in my world.”  Kyasho now thought.  “From your stories of your world, I’m wondering if they developed here or if they’re like you, stranded far from home.”

“I see…”  Maximillian replied.

“Maybe they hold the key to bypassing that beast that’s obstructing you path, so that you can get home.”  Kyasho explained.

“Maybe… but I have much work to do here before I can go back… so take your time in your investigations.”  Kyasho just nodded at the reply.

“What about you, where will you go?” Kyasho questioned his master now.

“From birth, I’ve been groomed to rule… and so I shall… but before I can be a king, I will need a kingdom.”  Maximillian explained.  “First I will a mass the resources, and then expand my royal line… finally, I will amass a Royal Guard and once that is done, I will make my way back home and crush the force that sought to imprison me in this world.”

“That sounds like it will take a while indeed.”  Kyasho laughed lightly, drawing a mused smirk from Maximillian.

“That it will, but anything worth having is worth waiting for.”  Maximillian countered, causing Kyasho to laugh lightly at his very Terran response.

“So what will we do in the mean time… about the tremors?” Kyasho inquired.

“The calamity that has befallen your world is one that could be easily corrected back home, with a few incantations by the city’s High Clerics… unfortunately, right now neither you nor I have the power to fix this catastrophe... the magic in this world is too weak right now for me to do anything on my own and though strong, your powers still need to be refined.  Train your skills and increase your power, Kyasho, hopefully this ‘Ki’ that you’ve become so proficient in holds the key to restoring your world.”  Maximillian explained causing Kyasho to nod.

“Will I even see you again?”  Kyasho inquired now.

“Most definitely… when these cataclysms cease to wrack your fragile world and I am ready to retake my own, I’m sure that our paths will cross again.” Maximillian replied.

With this, the two departed, leaving the deserted area that had served as their home for so many years.  As they left the area, the energies that had held the fragile landscape together left with them, allowing the world to crumble behind them as they departed.
