Pointless Terran Formalities

“The Rogues will be taking these three into custody, I’m sure that you guys will be handling the situation in France?” Tyler stated, standing with her hand resting on her hip now, as the Stryfes and their team helped to load the reverted players into the respective ships of the two faction Field Commanders.

“The Xelots will do everything in their power to protect France, even if we must do so by protecting it from itself.”  Deacon replied, drawing a slight smirk from Tyler.

“Good to know.”  The Rogue replied casually, looking the Xelot up and down as he tried to get a feel for him.  It was amusing to notice the differences between him and herself, from the way they stood to the way they talked, causing Tyler to be slightly intrigued by their interactions.

As she observed, she realised that her own stance was exceedingly relax, exhibiting particularly bad posture, something that would not be expected of a dancer.  Deacon on the other hand had extremely erect posture, and even when relaxed, seemed to stand almost at attention, no doubt a result of his polished upbringing.  Tyler laughed lightly to herself now, drawing a puzzled look from Deacon, who now contemplated asking what it was about before he decided not to bother.  Tyler laugh faded to a smirk.

“So I guess this solidifies our good Rogue-Xelot relations.”  She jested, drawing a light chuckle from Deacon, who more or less disregarded the statement.

“I do look forward to continued good relations between our factions…”  He paused now, looking around the area and noting that the affiliates of SABER had already been loaded into his F-25, allowing him to take them back to the Xelot outpost for questioning.  This realisation alerted him of the fact that now would be a good time to end the conversation, something which he wasted no time in doing.  “…Unfortunately, I should be off.”  He continued, bowing faintly to Tyler.  “Have a good evening Ms. Cage.”  He finished politely, causing Tyler smile and nod, before moving off to check on the members of SABER who were lying unconscious in her ship after the conflict.

“Xelots.”  She laughed to herself once again, boarding her vehicle before opening a communication link with the Administrative Department back at The Garrison, and requesting that a team be dispatched to sanitise the area and more importantly retrieve the team’s light assault vehicle.

As Deacon thrusted off, Tyler waved from the cockpit of her F-25, making one last check on her cargo before she too powered up her vehicle and set off in the direction of Barbados.

Back at the Rogue’s main installation, The Garrison, Kyasho Mirakama monitored the incoming transmissions, waiting patiently for a call that he knew would be coming in given the way that recent events had unfolded.  As the leader of the Rogue Special Forces, he made it a point to be on top of things when it came to information, and after the readouts that he had received with regards to the incident on the remote island, he prided himself on being on of the people who actually had an idea of what was going on.  Kyasho smirked as his communication link began to blink now, flashing momentarily before the name of the sender registered and Kyasho accepted the transmission.

“Mr. It--” Kyasho paused, now noting that the man to whom he was speaking was not the person who he expected, causing him to raise an eyebrow.  “I don’t believe we’ve had the pleasure of meeting…”  Kyasho smirked now, briefly scanning over the seemingly young channeler, drawing a retaliative smirk from the man to whom he was speaking.

“Indeed we have not.  My name is Cornus Malaikin, I am an associate of Maximillian.”  Cornus explained, drawing a quirked eyebrow from the wide framed perfect that he was addressing.

“I see.  Am I to understand that Maximillian is too busy to contact me personally then?”  Kyasho now inquired, stroking his black and grey beard slowly.  Cornus watched him carefully, trying to analyse him through his movements, observations that would produce minimal results however, as Kyasho proved near impossible to analyse.  Cornus just smiled.

“You could say that Mr. Mirakama.  But enough with this small talk, you and I both know why this call had to be made… In fact, I’m still amused by the formality of this call, but my amusement does tend to be rather fleeting, so… let’s get down to the business at hand shall we:  What do you plan on doing with the boy?”  Cornus now inquired, causing Kyasho’s eyebrow to quirk yet again before a smile broke across his face.

“Ah yes, the boy… I realise that you and Shin have been taking a particular interest in a number of the members of my list, Shade included… might I inquire why he is of so much interest to you and your associate?”  Kyasho now inquired, wearing short the patience of the Oyan on the other side of the link.

“Okay, already I tire of this game… Shin has already informed me of your unique abilities, and as such, in this place, my threats hold little weight.  However, know this, we do want the boy… and he is of no use to your cause.  To hold him in the same place that you house the young Itami is like taking from your left hand with your right… in the end, you will have gained nothing.”  Cornus warned, expressing visible annoyance.

“Is that all that you’re willing to say?”  Kyasho inquired now.

“I see no reason to say anything else.” Cornus replied coldly, as Kyasho noted the quick change in his personality.

“Very well, I will take your words into consideration and contact you when I believe myself to be able to provide assistance to your cause.  I expect that until then, you will patiently await my response.”  Kyasho finally replied before Cornus cut the link.  “Hmm…”  He thought to himself now.  Maximillian was bad enough, but this Oyan cohort of his lacked the Terran diplomacy that, though admittedly inefficient, served to make these kinds of exchanges far more pleasant.  He would need to watch this new element, and ensure that his Oyan nature did not make him the wildcard that would disturb the carefully created equilibrium.  He would need to make it a point to speak with his former mentor about this new situation.
