Everyone Checking In
Maika sighed as he watched over his charge, Cloud Stryfe, opening the communication channel to Kyasho Mirakama to see if his charge had been dealing with the situation any better.
“Ah, good morning Maika.” Kyasho sounded with his usually pleasant voice.
“Good morning Admiral.” Maika replied, retaining his usual official tone.
“What can I do for you?” Kyasho inquired now.
“I guess you could consider this a call of courtesy.” Maika started, his gruff voice making the statement somewhat amusing to Kyasho, though his didn’t bother to express it.
“I see, you’re calling to check in on Roun?” Kyasho inquired, finding it a bit odd.
“No, your young ‘Guardian’ Leonardo.” Maika replied causing Kyasho to nod.
“Ahh… Leonardo is only moderately okay. He doesn’t seem to be taking to the bond very well, his body is still trying to fight off the Guardian entity as if it was some kind of disease.” Kyasho explained, not seeming to be too concerned with it all.
“Yes, Agent Stryfe has been reacting similarly.” Maika confirmed.
“As I would have imagined… what makes Leonardo’s case slightly more interesting however is that he seems to already have been a victim of Astral Tampering before the bond.” Kyasho explained. “Which means that currently, there are three entities attempting to strike a balance within his fragile body.” This caused Maika to raise an eyebrow.
“Do you know who was behind this?” He inquired now, but Kyasho simply shook his head.
Maika sat back in his chair now, finding it rather odd that two Rogue operatives would had underwent these bizarre Astral tampering processes, wondering if this was somehow related to Kyasho’s seemingly random selection of his Special Operatives. Maika shrugged almost unnoticeably, making a mental note of his queries before he continued to deal with the matter at hand.
“Well the young Oyan under my command seems to be striving particularly hard to rid himself of this guardian entity, it’s been almost two whole days since he’s been battling with this thing.” Maika explained. “For this reason, I made a few inquiries, consulting with young Stryke and the men who solved the problem for him.”
“You mean Maximillian and Cornus?” Kyasho interjected.
“Yes, but they assured me that it was unlikely that Cloud would need the same kind of assistance, given his background, and suggesting that I allowed him to resolve the issue on his own.”
“Ah I see… this is good to know.” Kyasho paused, his eyes shifting from the holo-projector to a small flashing light at the bottom of his Communication Pad. “I’m sorry Maika, would I be able to call you back?” He inquired politely, causing Maika to nod. “Yes Marshack?”
“Good morning Kyasho, I believe that one of my knights has developed a possible solution to your problem.” Marshack opened, initiating a file transfer of the outline for the restoration plan.
“Hmm...” Kyasho started as he read over the plan, comparing young Crydus’ assumptions with the facts that he had managed to collect himself or acquire from ‘Shin’ Itami regarding the Ethereal, Astral and Psychic dynamics surrounding Roun’s bond with the entity called Archetype. With this information, he made a few minor amendments to the plan, before returning it to Marshack and allowing him to peruse it.
“Interesting changes…” Marshack commented as he looked over the edited document. “This is quite enlightening.” He paused for a bit before his eyes returned to the holo-projector. “Would you like me to assemble the necessary channelers for the process?” He inquired now, causing Kyasho to shake his head.
“That won’t be necessary… word of the event has spread across the network, and registered channelers are already requesting information with regard to Lt. Commander Itami’s condition. I think it would be best for the Rogue Special Forces to issue and official report with regards to the matter. In this report, we will outline your knight’s plan and muster volunteers for the young Itami’s restoration.” Kyasho explained causing Marshack to nod. “I imagine that you will be present at the process.”
“Well, things here in France have been becoming busier as of late… however, if everything permits my presence, I will do my best to be in attendance.” Marshack replied. “I expect that Rayad will not be invited.” He inquired, his stance on the matter being all too obvious. Kyasho just laughed.
“Well Rayad seems to have no interest in the matter… he hasn’t once contacted me with regard to the situation…” Kyasho explained, only to be cut off by Marshack.
“Good.” Came the comment, causing Kyasho to laugh once again. “With that then, I will be off, I have much else to attend to here at home.”
“Very well then, I look forward to seeing you again then.” Kyasho replied, but Marshack just nodded, severing the link.
Kyasho sat back in his chair now, searching through his directory until he came to ‘Shin Itami’ activating the link and attempting to establish the connection. He would need to ensure that everything was in order for the Restoration.
