Sending Reinforcements
Shin smiled as he monitored the
movements of his two younger sons
and their respective entourages.
Ryuu had been having little
luck contacting Kairi directly, and
was under direct orders from Shin to
make little additional effort to do
so, forcing the young Itami to
resign himself to information
gathering.
From what Ryuu and his two
charges,the young Prince Setto Itami
and his Malaikin counterpart Ran,
had been able to gather Kairi
traveled with two other channelers.
Lya, the Malaikin counterpart
to the would be prince, was a
powerful sorceress specializing in
environmental and status effects,
both harmful to opponents and
helpful to her make-shift teammates.
Alongside Lya was a curious
channeler, one which the
surveillance group couldn’t manage
to attach to any noteable clan.
The young man seemed to stem
from Mediterranean descent, having
deeply tanned skin,long black hair
and an oddly familiar face.
From the first time that Ryuu
had seen him, that particularly
familiar about him was quite
noticeable, but he was yet to
discern where that familiarity was
from.
Ethereally however, this
Mediterranean channeler
was also quite strong.
Interestingly enough,
statistically, he was rather
mediocre, but his technique list
seemed to make up in the areas that
he lacked statistically allowing him
to effect a number of unique
abilities.
On top of all this, Kairi
himself was a physical monster and
due to his forms high adaptation to
using Veranos related abilities, his
output and versatility were things
that could not be ignored inside or
out of battle.
From what the three had been able to
determine, Kairi was the unofficial
leader of the team with the other
male channeler, Takeshu, being his
advisor of sorts.
For this reason, they
couldn’t be sure whose idea it had
been to travel to Dubai, but the
team seemed content to just take
part in the Coleseum trials for the
time being.
Ryuu scoffed as the tedium of his
current task, being quite annoyed
that his ethereal growth was being
stunted by his father’s orders to
remain in this area and, as far as
Ryuu was concerned, do nothing.
“It seems that we have a large ship
incoming.” Ran now sounded through
the Medium Assault class vehicle.
“Power up the shields.”
Ryuu replied casually, not
too bothered about an attack right
now.
“Hopefully they’ll make a
move and spice things up.”
He shrugged, continuing to
monitor his targets using the ships
external scanners.
“We either have an incoming message
or an lock-on alert…”
Setto replied now as he
struggled to remember which light
corresponded to each of those unique
warnings.
Ryuu just laughed lightly.
“Red or Blue kid?” Ryuu inquired,
still not too bothered, as he really
couldn’t conceive a player stupid
enough to attack him after his
recent exploits.
“Blue.”
Came the reply.
“That’s a communications alert, you
should know what to do by now.” Ryuu
replied, causing Setto to nod.
As the young channelers accepted the
link now, he waited for it to
connect, watching as the video
slowly faded into focus to show the
interior of the ship.
At first, the face in front
of the screen didn’t seem very
familiar at all, being a young woman
with bright orange hair.
Setto paused, raising an
eyebrow, an action that caused the
young woman to laugh lightly.
“You guys really are related.”
She commented lightly before
continuing.
“Setto, this is Nicola Cage
of the Rogue special forces, sub
commander of your cousin Roun’s
squadron.
Where’s Ryuu?” She inquired.
“Oh hold on.”
Setto replied now, turning to
call Ryuu again.
Hearing that it was Roun
however, Ryuu was at least somewhat
intrigued by his presence, making
him less annoyed that he had to
leave his post.
“Oh hey Nicola, what’s going on?”
Ryuu inquired.
“Things are good, how is everything
with you?” She inquired politely.
“You know how things are, same old
same old.”
Ryuu replied smugly.
“Where’s you broken
Commander?”
He inquired now.
“He was resting up in his quarters,
he burned up quite a lot of energy
testing the parameters of his new
form, so he decided to recover his
strength before you two met up.”
Nicola explained.
“Ch. Roun…”
Was all Ryuu replied.
“You and your party should come
aboard, we’ve got more than enough
room.”
Nicola suggested.
“And I’m sure Roun has a lot
to talk to you about.”
Nicola suggested, causing
Ryuu to nod.
“No prob, me and the kiddies will be
there in a minute so lower the
shields.
Do me a favour tho, I’m gonna
send you some coordinates, track
these three clowns for me, as Roun’s
probably told you, we’re here on a
stakeout.”
Ryuu said with a look of
disdain.
“That won’t be a problem Ryuu.”
Nicola laughed lightly.
“Shields lowered.”
With this, Ryuu, Setto and Ran made
their way over to exit of their own
ship.
Allowing Setto and Ran to
disembark first, Ryuu then left the
ship and powered up the security
system, applying the password before
switching it only ‘safe mode’.
Once that was done, the three
powered up their forms fully and
flew towards Roun’s Maglyte,
watching as the gates opened,
allowing them to move inside.
On
the inside of the vehidle, they were
greeted first by Haezar, Roun’s
massive security officer.
“Hey dude, what’s going on?”
Ryuu inquired, causing Haezar
to nod.
“So where’s the captain of
this ship?” He inquired next.
“He’s in his quarters, follow me.”
Haezar replied casual,
motioning for the three to follow
him as he made his way out of the
docking bay, where the three had
arrived and towards the barracks.
As the four channelers now
approached Roun’s room, they watched
as the door swung open and Zadavia
exited the room.
This raised Ryuu’s eyebrow
considerably, but Haezar didn’t even
seem surprised by the occurrence
whereas Setto and Ran didn’t even
register it as something strange.
“Roun!”
Ryuu sounded now, only to
receive no answer.
“The hell…”
He muttered as he moved
further into the room, only to hear
the sound of the shower running.
“Psh…”
Ryuu scoffed now.
“Who’re you trying to fool,
we all know you don’t shower.”
He continued smugly, his
voice finally gaining Roun’s
attention over the sound of the
water.
“Took you long enough to get here
scrub…” Roun replied with an amused
tone, before the sound of the water
gradually vanished and Roun stepped
out of the shower.
“I talked to dad, and he told
me what you guys were up to, I came
to lend a hand...”
“You’re either really bored or up to
something...”
Ryuu
replied
now, raising an eyebrow at Roun’s
statement.
“Like I said, I talked to dad.”
Roun said smugly.
“Up until now, you haven’t
had the engage order, primarily
because Kairi and his group would
probably annihilate you three...”
Roun explained, looking over
to Haezar.
“... but as you can see...”
He paused, a smirk growing on
his face.
“I brought backup.”
