Overview Analysis

“You don’t really think that that bunch is an actual match for Kairi and his party do you?”  Cornus inquired to Shin Itami.

“You know Cornus, if you’re ever to be my advisor when I retake my throne, you’re going to have to start trusting my judgement.”  Shin reasoned, causing Cornus to look on with curiosity.

“As advisor, it will be my job to troubleshoot your bad ideas...”  Cornus paused.  “From the looks of it, I’m going to need to get in a lot of practice so I think I’m doing an excellent job.”  He retorted.

“Though his combat aptitude is higher than his Terran relatives, Kairi’s ethereal abilities are not that far removed from those of Roun and Ryuu, especially with their legendary linkages.”  Shin explained to Cornus now.

“Legendary link, you mean... so seem to forget that the boy is no longer bonded to the Archetype.” Cornus reminded him.

“Oh, that’s right, I didn’t bother to share Kyasho’s transmissions with you.”  Shin smirked, summoning his Data Pad to his hands and handing the flat device to Cornus.  As Cornus looked over the device, his expression slowly changed, initially from his usual guarded look to one of scepticism, then finally to that of bepuzzlement.

“These can’t be right...”  Cornus replied.

“And why not, we always knew from his energy that he was an Itami.”  Shin explained.  “We simply had the wrong Itami.”

“If these readings are correct then your Rogue associates have given us an unnerving glance into the future of our world.”  Cornus replied, moving towards the balcony of the installation and looking out over the Novosibirsk landscape, towards the direction of Romania.  “Well... if it’s the boy that is the Monolith, and not Dracula, then Maverick is not the great threat that we made it out to be...”  Cornus reasoned.

“An apt conclusion after its crude disposal by the Rogue Special Forces in Brazil... I didn’t imagine the legendary threat to the Matriarch being easily disposed by sheer brute force...”  Shin added.

“Well then... I guess re-includes the boy into your grand machinations...” Cornus smirked now.

“That it does... that it does...”  Shin just replied.

“Well, I guess Kairi is as good a test as any for his monolithic abilities as any... he has shown the highest level of integration with Veranos at an astral level... this should be an interesting fight.”

“Oh I intend for it to be... and with Roun dealing with Kairi... that should allow Ryuu to push this newcomer Takeshu to revealing his true identity.”  Shin added.

“Heh, I guess the kids should give Lya a workout as well, I’m curious to see how much she’s grown since she vanished with the exile.” Cornus now reasoned.

“Indeed.”
