Enduring the
Fusion
“Oh my God...” Came the exclamation back at the surveillance centre and the young analyst Justin Myers looked on at the view screen.
In the office of the director, the communication centre was ablaze with red lights denoting incoming requests for communications links. As the Director looked on at his own view screen now, he sighed heavily holding his head as he tried to fire out what he should do now.
“We’ve lost South America to the pockets...” He sighed, continuing to analyse the incoming data. “And England is entering the final phase of instability... that will be the next area to be lost.” He sighed, before realising that the Gate at Long Island was also expanding into a Gaia Pocket, set on a course to intercept and expand the already growing Gaia field that now engulfed what used to be South America.
“Mr. Myers!” He now called into the communications link, opening a connection with the young analyst.
“Yes Director?”
“I want you to choose a team of 6 including yourselves and reconfigure your satellites, I want you to broadcast these feeds to the United Nations Peace Keeper Forces. They’re going to need to send teams to all of these areas to contain the damage. I want you to keep them as updated as we are, do you understand me?” The Director ordered.
“Yes Sir!”
Back in Novosibirsk, the Gaia pocket in that area was also, moving towards the now expanding Gate at Stone Henge. From his bed now, Shin Itami sensed the disturbance, rolling over, away from his wife before getting out of bed and heading outside of the room.
“There you are!” Cornus exclaimed, before looking Shin up and down. “Would you mind covering up or are you enjoying the draft?” He inquired now, causing Shin to respond with a dry grin, powering up his form to summon his combat armour.
“Will this do?” Shin inquired smugly, before Cornus’ mind snapped back to the matter at hand.
“It starts... it looks like your wife’s original prediction, some decades ago, were indeed true...” Cornus stated. “Unfortunately, that means that your stronghold is built right in the path of the expanding Gaia pocket.” Cornus reasoned.
“So old friend, when is the last time you saw real combat?” Shin inquired.
“More recent than you, that I can assure you.” Cornus reassured him as the two descended from the balcony of the outpost to face the Haiman waves.
While Shin and Cornus attempted to deal with the situation in Novosibirsk, the Xelots were already moving their main forces to Stone Henge to deal with the initial onslaught that England would face once the Haiman forces realised that there were Terrans invading their lands. The move would mean that they would be leaving France to fend for itself, but with the development of the anti-Haiman Enforcer technology, France at least had a chance of surviving without them... they however were Englands only hope. Unlike other Oyan nations, which would at least attempt to figure out what was going on before inciting a conflict, the Haiman warriors would simply attack Terrans without a moment’s hesitation, their absolute Xenophobia would be the only justification necessary for combat. This made them the most dangerous clan in this Terra-Oya fusion, but at the same time, it made them the clan that was most extensively planned for and hopefully, the most manageable.
As Marshack and his most powerful Paladins now headed towards the area, High Paladin Joseph Avier readied his limited forces and prepared to brave the initial onslaught without any reinforcements. With a limited compliment of Paladins, and a handful of zeta frame operators and autonomous units, the High Paladin would have his work cut out for him, holding off the initial Haiman wave while the British Military and Marshack Almed mobilised their main forces.
As Naomi Itami sat up now, drawing the sheets of her husband’s bed onto her body, she scanned the Dubai area to see just how her sons were fearing against their Oyan cousin. With Lya occupied with Setto and Ran, she was lucky to encounter no psychic interference, allowing her to get a vivid picture of the battle. Despite Kairi’s obviously superior power output, she was pleased to see that Ryuu was actually able to hold his own against the Oyan, while Roun occupied Takeshu. This wasn’t the way that Shin had planned the battle for the boys, but nevertheless, the two of them, as a team, seemed to be just enough to hold their own against the two strong Oyans. Unfortunately, if the battle continued too far, she knew that only one outcome was possible, the reversion of one side. For the moment, Dubai was not in danger, but she would have preferred her sons to be at full capacity when the area that they were in fused, so that they would be able to deal with any possible conflict. Naomi sighed, once again she would have to go against her husband’s wishes.
On the battlefield now, Roun reached his maximum charge, signalling for Ryuu, Setto and Ran to get out of his way while he prepared to unleash the attack. Naomi sighed heavily as she contacted Lya, having a psychic conversation that only those two would be privy to. Before Roun could unleash his attack, he would watch as Lya and Kairi simultaneously powering into their Omega Drives, an occurrence that seemed to catch Kairi himself offguard. The Malaikin associate would grab her Itami counterpart and Takeshu before simultaneously activing her own and Kairi’s Omega Burst. Roun’s attack, his Chaos Cutter, would hit nothing but air, sailing off to just do collateral damage to the nearby deserted buildings. Before Roun could even question what had just happened, he would hear his mother’s voice in his mind. That would be his cue to leave the area and head for Novosibirsk, the area where he and the rest of his family would endure the fusion.
