Indiscriminant Slaughter

Much like the fusion of Haiman and Western Europe, the fusions of Australia with Desolate, Haiwaii and Hell and Antarctica and Eranes resulted mass casualties and in most cases indiscriminant massacres.  In Antarctica, there was little that anyone could do.  The area was minimally inhabited, populated primarily by explorers and researchers who specialised in fields that brought them to that place.  With this in mind, it was no surprise that the inhabitants of Eranes, the most powerful entities in all of Oya, simply wiped the Terran presence from the frozen land mass in little over an hour. In fact, barring the recovery of certain pieces of lost terrain, the fusion of the two worlds truly had little effect on the continent of Eranes.

In Hell, the fusion wouldn’t go very well either.  With the American military concentrating its forces on the conflict with Crystales, little could be done apart from evacuating and extracting as many of the Hawaiian civilians as possible, while the military did its best to defend them against potential aggressors.  Unfortunately for the military effort, their aggressors would not just be strong, but would prove to be quite overwhelming in numbers.  During the initial fusion, the confusion that resulted had caused a number of casualties amoung the non-channeler civilian populace.  This was especially due to the generally guarded nature of inhabitants of hell, which resulted from escalating conflict between the ‘human’ and ‘demon’ populace of the nation.  This initial misunderstanding as it was, lead to escalating violence as military units dispatched to the area now attempted to defend Hawaiian civilians from their Oyan attackers.

While these two factions engaged in warfare, and with the growing presence of a weak and abundant food source, the Bloodlands now teemed with demonic energy, allowing the usually reserved and tactical demonic empire to devolve into ravenous predators.  As the crimson wave expanded from the base of the volcano, each faction now found itself engaged in a three-way free-for-all, with both the Oyan and Terran human inhabitants of the area now attempting to fend off the invading Demon threat while protecting themselves from their offenders.

This massive battle saw the coalition of a number of Oyan clans, with the Baseti and Loa leading the charge against the demons while another clan, one that very closely resembled the physical appearance of the Stryfes surfaced from their subterranean stronghold to assess the threat level.  It would not be long before they too found themselves drawn into the battle, much to the detriment of the already limited Terran forces.  Between the demonic waves and the overwhelming force of the Oyan clans, the military presence of the Terran peacekeeper was quickly eradicated, leaving the Terran civilians to be divided into those who were absorbed by the human clans, and those abducted by the demons.

The battle of Desolate greatly resembled that of Eranes, being only somewhat less one-side than its counterpart.  The Australian military found itself faced not with human channelers and technology, but instead with the overwhelming force of the natural environment.  This actually proved to be somewhat worse for both sides in the battle, with the Australian military losing a great number of its Exo-suit pilots to indiscriminant swarms and the less than tactical beasts suffering huge declines in their population at the hand of the well coordinated Terran assault.  In fact, had it not been for the entity referred to as Suzaku, the flaming bird that scorched and poisoned the land as it passed, it was not unfathomable that the battle could have ended differently.  Unfortunately, speculations and consolations were empty to the Terran inhabitants of this continent, who found themselves all but wiped out in the war.  Only a handful of channelers would survive this all out massacre, seeking refuge in RedRocke, amoung the Behemoth clan which had managed to avoid conflict with the Terrans, who were too busy dealing with the more aggressive creatures in the area.  These channelers would either learn to fend for themselves or perish in this environment however as the Behemoths, though hospitable, were simply not in the habit of babysitting.

With these three areas fused, this left only the fusion of the major cities and clan inhabited areas to complete formation of New Gaia.
