Interesting Developements
A light breeze of wind rushed through Tyler Cage’s hair as she waited at the location that had been specified by her mysterious meeting partner. As she waited, she was forced to acquaint herself more closely with the wildlife of Malaikin, watching as the three primary predators of the small field class area in which she stood, the Delgrangers, Ulfserks and Ptrax, went about their daily hunting routines. As Tyler continued to wait, unmolested by the native creatures, her intrusive scanning began to pick up something at the edge of her sensory range. A smile would break across her face as the entity made its way closer and closer, closing the distance before it appeared within her visual range.
“Glad that we could finally meet face to face.” Tyler stated now, causing the Gargoyle to decloak and reveal itself to her visually.
“Greetings, I am Kiaidon, I trust that Nicholas has informed you of my stipulations.” He stated now, cutting right to the chase.
“Of course, and I agree to them all.” Tyler smiled pleasantly, powering up her form to full now, drawing some reservation from the Gargoyle. “No don’t worry; this is just so that I can scan you.” Tyler explained. “I imagine that you would like me to get that out of the way so that you could be on your way.” She continued, causing Kiaidon to sigh lightly at the more powerful channeler. “Don’t worry, I wouldn’t agree to all of those stipulations just to get you here so that I could pounce on you.” Tyler smiled pleasantly. “I may be annoying but I’m no bully.” Kiaidon just laughed now, causing Tyler to laugh as well as she began the scanning process. “So I guess you and Nicholas didn’t get along?” She inquired now.
“He is too persistent, and doesn’t know when to quit.” Kiaidon replied with venom.
“Good.” Tyler smiled, puzzling Kiaidon now. “He’ll make a perfect addition to my team, under my command quitting isn’t an option.” Tyler stated proudly as she put her hands on her hips, drawing an amused look from Kiaidon.
“Your team is the Rogues that he spoke constantly of?” Kiaidon inquired now, causing Tyler to nod.
“That’s right, the field team of the Rogue Special Forces. We’re a global police of sorts, you could say.” She explained, causing Kiaidon to nod now.
“So you protect the world and enforce its law?” He inquired.
“That’s correct. Someone has to right?” Tyler stated now as her scanning came to an end. “Okay, all done.” Tyler stated now, much to Kiaidon’s surprise, causing the Gargoyle to marvel at the speed of the process. “This is quite interesting...” Tyler stated now as she reviewed the information, drawing yet another puzzled look from Kiaidon. “You know, for such a foreign being... your ethereal form seems very... familiar.” Tyler continued. Kiaidon’s eyes jut narrowed as he reengaged his stealth abilities and faded into the small woodland.
“Goodbye Ms. Cage...” Sounded the fading voice before Roderick Waber, Tyler’s direct subordinate, dropped out of his Telsa Morph and put the creature in a full nelson, much to its own surprise.
“Roderick...” Tyler sounded in an oddly calm voice, not seeming at all surprised by her subordinate’s appearance. “Let him go right now, that’s a direct order.”
“Tyler, he is trying to escape...” Roderick replied, his voice laced in defiance, causing Tyler’s gaze to narrow now. Unfortunately for Roderick, his captor had no intension of remaining in his current predicament, and quickly powered up his phasic ability to disrupt Roderick’s form. This would force Roderick to power up his Orbital Enhancement to boost his defense and Orbital Nullification to now inflict a strong disorienting field upon Kiaidon.
The two would all but cancel the effects of each other’s abilities, but Roderick’s grip would be as strong as ever, forcing Tyler to power up her Remold, and changer her own form to now take on the attributes of her subordinate. Roderick’s eyes would widen as the energy which reinforced his form now shifted to weaken it, causing his grip around Kiaidon to break, allowing the Gargoyle to dash out of the grab and spin before charging an attack. This would force Tyler to now focus her abilities on Kiaidon, creating a strong magnetic force that pulled the Gargoyle into the ground and disrupted his offensive technique.
“Roderick don’t move.” Tyler stated calmly as Roderick got to his feet and charged his energy around him. “You’re in enough trouble as it is... so I suggest you start doing as I say.” Tyler sounded as she made her way over to a still struggling Kiaidon. “Kiaidon, calm down. As you can tell, if I wanted to hurt you, I could... so the fact that I’m not should say something.”
Unfortunately, her words would not do much to calm the Gargoyle, who now engaged his Omega Drive to break the hold. Tyler’s eyes would widen at this, switching her form back to its original state as a flood of information now started to rush into her.
“Kiaidon wait.” Tyler sounded now, but to no avail. She would watch as the entity now concentrated all of his energy on his mobility before Omega Flashing out of the area. Roderick’s gaze would turn to Tyler once he was certain that Kiaidon had indeed cleared the area, but interestingly enough, he wouldn’t find a look of anger on her face, but an odd smile.
“Why do you look so happy?” Roderick inquired now in his thick German accent.
“I’m not happy, I’m intrigued.” Tyler smirked as she corrected him and began to analyse the additional data, causing Roderick to raise an eyebrow. “Let’s get back to base Lieutenant.”
“Hold. You are not upset that I followed you?” Roderick inquired.
“I knew that you would and I sensed you long before you attacked Kiaidon...” Tyler replied smugly. “...but your presence worked to my benefit to confirm a theory that I had, so I didn’t bother to break your cover.” She continued, causing Roderick to sigh.
“So you played me?” Roderick inquired now with some displeasure.
“Of course not; I just let you play yourself.” Tyler smiled deviously. “Oh and you’re still in big trouble. Disobeying a direct order... and twice no less, is a serious infraction.”
“But it was to your benefit!” Roderick yelled now, causing Tyler to laugh lightly.
“Don’t raise your voice at me lieutenant, you’re already looking at a fine and some time behind a desk. I wouldn’t push my luck if I were you.” Tyler replied.
“A desk!?” Roderick explained. “I abhor administrative work...” Roderick growled.
“Yeah I know.” Tyler smiled, rather pleased with how everything had worked out.
“I hate you.” Roderick remarked with great annoyance.
“Yeah, I know.” She smiled once again.
