Omninous Shadow (31/12/2499 AF)
An ominous shadow crept over the battle field bringing Synchros and Khaaos' duel to a sudden halt. Throughout the world they could feel tremors, not physically, but they could all feel a great disturbance within the ether stream that they were all so deeply intertwine with.
Geon
made his journey quickly, riding the
ether stream to Zaidern Temple
before its instability threw him,
shunting him back into the physical
realm and blasting him into the
ground.
"Geon!?" Enree exclaimed, stumbling
to his feet as he regained control
of his own body.
"I'm here Enree, but you're body
took a great deal of damage, I will
repair it. You need to get to
Zaidern Temple and retrieve the
artifact. Enree nodded, grunting an
affirmative reply as he thrusted
off, weaving through the burning
terrain to his intended destination.
Back on the battle field, Synchros and Khaaos watched in amazement as the world shifted around them, reality seemed to bend before their eyes as their present, the earth's future, shifted as a result of changes made to its past. This realization slowly came to them and with it a look of utter disdain. Without hesitation the two exclaimed.
"Insects!"
"Those insignificant pests dare to think that they. They of all people could end our battle!" Khaaos roared his rage exploding his phoenix summon as he summoned a large visor and scanned the area for temporal disturbances.
"Heh." Synchros smirked also unsummoning his Great Beast, before pointing Khaaos towards Dias' portal some miles off. "It seems that the moth has run from the flame. Maybe we should have indeed danced my adversary. No matter, we shall bring the flame to the moth, silly insects. how dare they prolong their demises."
"Quiet Synchros, make haste, our Epic is not yet complete and these pests are trying to write our epilogue." Khaaos interjected, voice falling low, losing its rage and taking on more of an insulted tone.
"You were sloppy; if it was up to me, they would not have made it past the prologue." Synchros smirked, thrusting off, the shoulders of his dark armour exploding with green flames as he thrusted towards the portal. Khaaos scoffed, flexing his wings and followed.
An eerie sense of unease crept over Enree upon their departure, as he felt a profound solitude, one that he had never yet experience. It was a disturbing feeling to be the only one there and furthermore the only living being on the planet. His eye closed instinctually as he scanned the astral plane confirming his greatest fear. He was alone again, but this time. for the first time. he was truly alone. Quickly he flew through the temple, grabbing the sacred artifact and blasting off towards the portal, which seemed to be closing for some odd reason. A single tear rolled down his cheek as he concentrated all his energy into his speed, praying with the hope of a child that he would not be too late.
