A Fresh Start (01/01/1700 AD)

The force of Synchros’ attack had shunted Enree’s mortal form hundreds to miles when it dispatched his Ethereal State, allowing his physical self to recoalesce on one of the Islands off of Japan.  What he found much more intriguing however was that it also seemed to displace him some hundred years into the future.  Much like Synchros and Khaaos, he too found himself deprived of his Ethereal energy, unable to power up into an Ethereal form and bend the now absent Ether Stream to his whim.  Oddly enough however, Synchros’ energy had permenantly bonded the odd Green Flame which he wielded to his body as well.  As Enree made it to his feet, he took a step forward, literally stepping out of the remaining Magical and Material energies left behind by his now unusable ethereal form.  The feeling was an odd one, causing him to turn, and with a child’s curiousity, he touched the odd mass of power.  The same odd energy, the green flame which had charred his pale skin with a deep tan and singed his own hair green now left his body, snaking down his hand and bonding itself to the energy which he had left behind.

Enree watched in amazement as the energy shaped itself into an entity, as the form of a deeply tanned woman with flowing green hair walked past him, and made her way out of the small lightly wooded area and into the foreign land.  Enree would do the only thing that he could, and follow the beautiful woman, in the hopes that she would somehow be able to explain it all to him.

While Enree slept, two of the other temporal aliens endured more interesting lives.  Due to their unique physiology, though mortal, the two titans were unchecked by age, allowing them to outlive the more fragile humans around them. Both Synchros and Khaaos had realised that their Ethereal energies were too strong to simply be casted off when this world’s ether abandoned them, and had since began to slowly eat away at the fabric that separated the two Earths, as if in some hope to reform the ether that was lost when they split.

It was this energy that first created the phasic disturbances that would come to be known as the ‘Gates’.  However, at this point, the disturbances were all but unnoticeable; immeasurable by their primitive instruments and indiscernible by anyone who lacked the gift of an ethereal sense.  This allowed Synchros and Khaaos to traverse the two earths as they pleased, coming and going as they saw fit, orchestrating this world down the same path that they had in the future, though this time, far more slowly.

Reujin would awaken at the same time as Enree, within the same realm, hundreds of years into the future, to find the area where he now lay, inhabited by a sophisticated people.  The small island chain, though remote, seemed to have within it a great abundance of a single resource, something that gripped Reujin’s heart with fear when he first saw it.  Having dissipated his energy into the Ki stream, it seemed as though Khaaos had begun to feed the energy starved realms.  Taking this into consideration, Reujin could only assume that the magical component of his power had somehow made it to this second Earth.  From what he would learn, only 200 years had passed since the four godlike beings had left their own time and came to this place, and already the inhabitants of this island had mastered the basics of magic channelling.  It was true that their abilities were extremely rudimentary, but these same abilities were a testament to Reujin’s failure, it would seem that he was unable to change the fate of this world.  Emerging from the shrine like building in which he awoke, Reujin would find himself greeted by a host of pale channelers with light blue hair, speaking in a language which he simply could not understand.

Uncertainly he spoke.  “Too much time has passed, and we have much work to do… take me to your libraries, I must learn.”  Ruejin spoke, as the people listened intently.  “We must arm ourselves with knowledge and prepare for the coming battle… those two cannot win again.”
