Third Earth
Unbeknownst to the four fallen titans, Dias’ split had not been an absolute one. The two worlds which Synchros and Khaaos now manipulated were only shells of the singular world that these two vessels of the destroyers had not long been squabbling over. This singular world still existed, though not in its entirety, being the only stability that held the now fragile world in this state of chaotic equilibrium. These two worlds, realms that would grow to be called Oya, the land of magic, and Terra, the land of Ki, would find themselves been created and destroyed infinitely in each second, existing alternately but never simultaneously in the same space and in the same timeline, though never at the same time. This was yet another truth that would escape the four titans, as well as the countless humans and animals that inhabited these two worlds.
Existing amidst these two worlds however, this singular world, Gaia, continued along its preordained path. Existing first as pockets where Terra and Oya fused, allowing for a stable continued existence, Gaia made its exhibitions as early as the 1600s, but these manifestations tended to be short lived, lasting days at most before they were finally dissipated and the two worlds returned to their chaotic states. These manifestations of Gaia, short lived as they were managed to catch the attentions of the only four entities that could truly understand their significance. It would not be for a while however, that they truly understood the process that caused these occurrences. Interestingly enough it would be Enree, the youngest of the four Immortals that first grasped the concept of the infinite creations and destructions.
“It is absurd to think that our worlds could be created and destroyed so many times within the blink of an eye, each destruction and creation being identical to the last, setting the example for the next and having no noticeable effect of the existence or manifestation of the most complex or even simplest of the ethereal constructs that comprise this grand world that we live in. But then, how do we explain the existence of this secondary world, one that is as real as this one or that dying planet that we four left behind so many years ago?” He inquired. “Instead, we must realise that within the ether stream, existence is determined by two great forces. The infinities of probability and the singularity of time. Though the time stream only allows a single probability to be reality at any instant, this does explain what happens to such a probability once it is deemed by the forces of time to no longer be real... we must wonder what happens to all of the millions of different probabilities, each struggling within the chaos of magic to become real. Those of us with the gift of sight have been known to see these false realities, but this asks the question of how can we see something that does not exist. But if it does exist, then how can it do so and not be a reality?” Enree continued to question. “As such, we return to the original question, how is it that these two worlds, both equally probable could reach the state of ‘reality’ with such equality.” Enree reasoned. “I believe that to answer this question we must change our views on what is real and what is not, and then only can we redefine existence. In the scope of ether, reality is defined simply by that probability which has the highest likelihood when all factors are considered. However, for this probability to manifest as a reality, it must have existed before, for this is the only way that it could have been chosen from amoung its other less probable counterparts. This truth explains how masters of probability can bend reality, simply by making those pre-existing probabilities with less likelihood, more likely to happen, allowing them to become reality.”
“When this is all considered, and the events that we wrought are taken into consideration as well, we realise that be splitting the worlds, my master created two equally probable realities in Terra and Oya, however, without the power of Teros, he was unable to destroy the probability that at that time held the title of reality. This left Terra and Oya to now assume the state of reality, an impossibility that could only be accommodated by these two probability lines fluctuating, much like a sine wave, each intersecting the time stream at periods perfectly out of phase with each other.” Enree pondered now as his graphical illustration of these waves came into focus. “Another question sharpens in my mind...” He spoke. “At the points where these worlds reach their maximum amplitudes, neither intersecting the time stream... does nothing occupy this space in reality?” He pondered now. “No... without Tero, this is an impossibility... so then what is it? Is it possible that a third earth exists, a true reality that rides the time stream avidly, only being shunted from its true place when Terra and Oya intersect the time streams?” His revelation, though seemingly absurd was unquestionably logical. “Earth...” He named it, deeming it to be the truest reality of the now three worlds that he conceptualised Gaia to be split into. “This must be the realm where Matter remains at its peak, uncorrupted by Magic and Ki... but who are its inhabitants?” He pondered now. “When my master split the worlds, all of the population were separated into these two worlds... does this then mean that Earth is uninhabited?” He sighed, it was quite a shame that the land which held man’s destiny was beyond their reach. “Maybe there is hope, titanic as our powers may be; they are not without their limits... a small few may have made it to our true home.” Enree sighed to himself as he closed the small recording device.
“May we be reunited with them some day.”
